I don't believe that one can come to a trampoline park and leave feeling glum - there's just something about jumping on those trampoline mats and the environment of the whole place that makes you feel like there isn't a care in the world!
I'm sure you've heard of Ryze by now. The first and only trampoline park in Hong Kong has ranked up quite a lot of support on social media websites like Facebook, and with good reason!
I went to Ryze today and it was the best $120s that I've spent. Their online booking system isn't up yet, so you actually have to go there and buy tickets in advance. My friends went there at around 4pm to purchase tickets for 6pm, but they were sold out and we only managed to get them for 8pm. Well, better than nothing!
We got there at around 7:50pm and watching all those jumpers bouncing on the trampolines effortlessly and doing flips into the foam-filled pit made me so jealous! The ten minutes felt like forever and finally, the whistle was blown for all the 7pm-ers to vacate and for us to come in!
I couldn't kick my shoes off quick enough - I jumped right onto one of the mats and leapt up effortlessly - it was such a good feeling! Because they limit the number of people who can go in at once, there's sufficient space for you to hop around and jump from square to square. The venue is nicely cool and air conditioned, which is great.
Besides just trampoline mats, there are also two foam-filled pits for you to jump off the trampoline and land into. You'll see people doing flips in the air and it looks super cool. It takes a couple of tries though - at least it did for me - but it's really fun once you manage! The trick is not to hesitate as you're leaping into the pit and really force yourself forward, so that you're not just falling flat into the pit. The pit itself feels like very pillowy and marshmallow-ey with all the foam squares - it's actually a little hard to get out of because you just keep sinking in!
There's a third foam pit with a sort of tightrope suspended over it. It's not very high, but it's harder than it looks! People pelt the foam squares at you when you're up there, making you lose your balance. I managed to go about five steps before tipping over and falling face first into the pit!
Overall, this was definitely money well spent. I've been to the trampoline park in Singapore before, and the one we went to was good but not air-conditioned. There were huge fans but five minutes in you'll be drenched in sweat. Thankfully, Ryze is air-conditioned. (Even though I liked Ryze a lot better, it bothers me a little that Ryze claims to be the only trampoline park in Asia, because that's not true!) My friends and I all had a really great time here and the hour just kind of flew by. I think it's only a matter of time before we are back next! read more
