Whiskeria - Whiskey served with the bottle

Do you like whiskey? If so, this is definitely your place. My husband and I stumbled upon this…read moreplace while aimlessly roaming Prague one evening. Being that we love whiskey, we decided that we couldn't go home without at least one drink. The inside is quite small, but also old and rustic looking - perfect for a glass of whiskey. We sat down in some comfy leather chairs, perfect for some whiskey sipping. There was a table with a chess board built into it, but unfortunately for us it was already taken by another couple. We went to open the whiskey menu, and WOW, their menu is insane (and that's putting it lightly). There were about 28 pages in their whiskey menu, with probably 25 different types of whiskey per page. They did have a small menu, which apparently changes weekly, but we weren't hungry so we didn't order any food. I ordered the Glendronach Revival 15 year, and my husband and ordered the Dalamore 12 year. When they brought our drinks out, each glass was also presented with the bottle, which I thought was kind of cool (but also VERY trusting). Unsure about which whiskey you want? It can be a bit overwhelming, but I liked how they placed descriptions of each whiskey in the menu so you knew what the taste difference was between each one. I can't rate this place as a restaurant, and although they do serve food I don't think it's really meant to be one. This is place meant for sitting in leather chairs, in an old rustic building, while sipping some nice, straight, whiskey.

For whiskey selection it's a 5 no doubt but for slow nonsensical service it's a 1 so average a 2…read more Lovely setting with cosy chairs and blink you might think of Scotland but once you open you're eye you are back in stupid service land. Great whiskey selection and very comfy but that's about it. Finally not much cheaper than home so no hidden low price single malts here.

Once we checked into the hotel, the party of five of us wanted to find something for dinner. We walked up the block and stumbled across the Londoners, we were kind of shocked they were open, and that they could seat five of us. We were greeted immediately and re-handed menus. It was nice to see that they had a good variety of food as we did have a kid with us. Who was a little picky. We ended up getting some different types of curry. I got lamb korma, and I believe others got Tika and, another korma. The kid in our group ordered a cheeseburger with only meat and cheese. The portions were very good and the naan that came with the curry was lovely. I love European korma as it is very different from the korma we have in the states. It is more of a coconut base and is yellow instead of the brown we have here. I actually prefer the korma in Europe more so if I get the chance, I would definitely order it. Our only issue was that my nephews cheeseburger had a lot of sauce on it. That was kind of a mustard sauce. He was not very happy with it, but he did eat it since we didn't want to send it back. Overall we were pleasantly surprised, and very grateful to be able to have a nice dinner on Christmas Day. I would absolutely return.

Started with a couple of beers because you have to, and then had some staple items - a tikka masala for the wife, and a lamb vindaloo for myself. The waiter reminded me that lamb vindaloo is quite spicy, to which I replied with a smile that said "bring it on!" He wasn't kidding, but neither was I. It was very spicy, but it was delicious! My wife enjoyed her tikka masala as well, which we accompanied with basamati rice and some quite tasty garlic naan. The bar itself is simple, but it's location is great and if you're a Brit, they're really catering to you. Football on the telly? Of course! I think they had some Premier League darts on another screen, too, and you could overhear that other patrons were either British tourists or expats. Very good place, would definitely visit again on the next trek to Praha.

It is a great way to sample and not over commit to something you might not like. The goulash was good but very small portion. The "dumplings" were ample and almost too much for the amount of meat and gravy served. Good but not great. Should I return, I would have the sausage and not the goulash. Service Friendly, helpful,, and fast. Ambiance Cool vibe and aesthetic. Traditional wood around and large spaces.

The crowd seemed to lean slightly more tourist than locals, but I could be wrong. Service was friendly overall, and the ambience is crowded, loud, and well, its a pub! 125K/$5.25 Whipped Beer cheese with fried bread...I saw this on a Anthony Bourdain episode, and it did not disappoint! the creamy cheese was like spiced feta cheese, the toasted breads were a perfect vessel to transport the tasty cheese into my mouth. 260K/$11 Roast Beef in Rosehips sauce, with potato croquettes...this sounded amazing on paper! But it was just okay, as an American I like my beef medium and tender. This beef was more well done and dry, but the creamy rose sauce was wonderful and did a pretty good job of masking the beef averageness. The potato croquettes crispy and airy, unique! 260K/$11 4 Beer sampler. This seemed like a good idea at first, but for Czech prices this was actually bit pricy. The beers seemed to be about a 200ml pour each. Being from San Diego, California where we have the best beer in the world, I found each of the four beers just kind average. It's much cheaper just to buy individual beers. Good place, not a great place. Come by if its convenient at the moment, like it was for me.

The atmosphere is very inviting and warm and while there are meals on the daily menu that might only be worth 4,5 stars, the majority of them clearly belongs into the 5 stars section. On top of that, all the antipasti and the other tasty bits and pieces are excellent and adequately priced. The wine, oh the wine! I have rarely ever experienced a place where I can always go for one of the two pretty "cheap" house wines and I'm never disappointed. So far Da Clara was pretty much a defining factor for the days we went there, (Sundays). 1st course, main dish, desert & coffee. It's pretty much a waste, if you don't go for the total package. Did I mention the music? Tops it all of. Jazz, Funk, Soul. Perfect. One of my favorite places in Prague.
