He gave us both a Z pack and I didn't want to start until the symptoms were more evident, today at 10am it was unbearable and I am so glad we had the Z with us. It is the firs time that we both come down with something at the same time and being disappointed would have contributed to feeling even more miserable but that was not the case thanks to the wonderful staff. Facility is clean and they really moved fast to minimize the wait and suffering. Dr. Conger's diagnosis was on point because my fever is gradually going down and I am hoping that by mid week I will be out of the water. Thank you all for the job well done Duke

As we were leaving Sue Horlick said, "Don't go to Chick-Fil-A first, go right to the ER. WHAT?? Why would you say something so unprofessional to someone who is looking for help. Wake Med has wonderful staff and they're all very caring, I have no issues with anyone we've encountered here. My most recent visit was for an infected abscess. We spent a good 4+ hours in the waiting room for something that took maybe 15 minutes total to get looked at. Insurance covered $3xx out of the $15xx bill. I received one antibiotic pill, a bottle of wound spray, and a wrap. Healthcare in this country is so ridiculously expensive and outright unaffordable. The restroom was a bit dirty which is surprising for a hospital. There were dirty paper towels on the floor. Overall, I try to avoid this hospital as much as possible, and unfortunately, that means waiting until last minute. It's just too expensive and wait times are horrible here.
