As I was waiting for it to be done my rep and the mechanic come out and tell me I need brakes and if I wanted them to do it. I had hardly used the RV and the mechanic said that sometimes on GMC'S the brake controller is not right. Well I told them I would take it to my mechanic to have the brakes done. After I dropped the RV off at my mechanic ,they told me to come get it that I didn't need brakes . It was 3 or more years later that I needed brakes. Another incident : I had to have a new roof put on RV (over $10,000). About a year after it was done I went in for my forever warranty inspection and was told the roof needed new seals ($1200).How is this possible they just did the new roof less than a year ago. So, I had them redo seals on roof. Now less then a year later I am getting ready for a trip and my bed is wet. I go up on the roof and the seal on fan over my bed is severly cracked. Call General RV and let them know ( they only warranty seals for 3months). There answer was it was a rough year weather wise for seals. How about that for bullshit!!Every year must be a rough year for seal . It's either that or forbid I say maybe they don't know what they are doing at their work establishment. Needless to say I am going to let my forever warranty expire just so I don't have to deal with such incompetence and thievery. It a shame that we RVer's have to deal with companies like this. Renting from this place was one of the best decisions I could have made. The rental process is straight-forward and their rental fees are very competitive. One of my favorite aspects of renting from Martin RV is the pick-up and drop-off process. I arrive, finish paperwork, receive a detailed walkthrough of the trailer features, get a chance to ask any questions, hook-up, and drive off. Painless, informative, friendly. Drop-off is the same. Park, chock wheels, unhook, drop off the key, and depart. They also always have new models to rent. It's like getting a new car every year when I rent from them. I LOVE this. I can also drop it off with the gray and black tanks full and they will empty them for me for NO charge. Who does that? Martin RV does. I cannot speak to their service department as I have not had any RV serviced through them, but, they have that as well. Also, the staff is friendly, hard working, and takes their time when answering any questions you have. I was a newbie renting from them five years ago and they were patient and informative with all my questions. That was via email, on the phone, and in person. I can say more, but, Martin RV simply does an excellent job. You will feel comfortable with a RV rental and/or purchase from them. Thank you Martin RV for making my vacation great every year!

We checked out another trailer that was cheaper and stated we had the money for it yet again and was pushed for financing. Once we went to pick up the trailer we met with service and got it all hooked up and made sure everything was safe to roll down the road. Never to see Gabby again or even walk through the trailer before we signed papers or anything. We were new to trailer ownership and were not shown anything or told anything. Needless to say they left us in the dark and made sure anything couldn't come back to them for safety issues otherwise I felt it was a quick money maker for them. Not worried about the customer at all. I will not recommend them due to we have a lot of friends looking for trailers to now go with us and they to are new to trailers and wouldn't be told anything about how to work anything.

I would like to let everyone know how Chesaco RV in Joppa runs their business…read more About a month ago, I went to purchase an RV. I worked with Regina - a lovely woman. She is very helpful and kind. I asked to see if I could put the RV on credit. Regina then asked if I would put any cash down. I said, "I supposed I could put $2000 down". She requested my Credit Card (as that is what I said I would use). I asked, "do you not see if I am approved before you run my CC?" "No, I am sorry. This is not how they do it. We run your credit card and then see if you are approved." Because I know I will be approved (based on my 753 credit score), I accepted it and handed over my cc. When I looked at my credit card online, I noticed $2060 was charged. I asked what the $60 was for, Regina did not know. I said, "I suppose it might be a 3% fee that credit cards are now charging for using it" and I accepted it, no problem (again - thinking I would be approved). Apparently, something happened to which I was not approved with my own bank (I will deal with later and uses Equifax) at 5.74%, but approved (verbally) with another bank at 11.99%. I refused those terms and conditions, as I am not paying double interest. I requested to cancel the transaction and to refund my $2060. They refunded my $2000, but not my $60. Now, I have been dealing with my dad (passed on 1/15) down in Tennessee and have not had a chance until today to address this $60. I called and explained exactly how I have written for you and would like my $60 back. He explained that he could not refund the $60 because it is the credit card issue and not their responsibility. ::side note:: I have owned a business and remember when a transaction is reimbursed, my company would also be reimbursed the fee and it is at the discretion of the company to reimburse I asked, "is this how you do business?" "No, this is how the credit card does business" "Not that part, I am speaking on first, you don't tell your customers there is a 3% fee added on to any credit card charge..." "It is all over the building" ::side note:: I can honestly say, I do not know. But, I am very observant in reading signs, but I may have missed it. Okay, I will give you that one. Especially, if I was approved, no big deal. "And what about the part where instead of making sure your client is approved, you just charge their card and then say, 'oh well, your out $$$ even though you weren't approved" "Yes, that is how we do business. We do take your money before we see if you are approved because if someone comes in and puts money down on the same item, it becomes their possession" ::side note:: Is he serious? I do not have facts to back it up, but does he really think I believe that they are selling RVs hand over fist?!? So, I am making a public post everywhere and everywhere to BEWARE!!!

Recently rented a 32' RV for a 600 mile round trip to the Catskills…read more We are first timers and weren't too sure what to expect. The employees were very friendly and accommodating. The rv was a slightly older model (our choice as it was less expensive). Regardless, it ran flawlessly up and back. I had questions and my calls to "Bob" were answered quickly and he did a good job making us feel relaxed and worry free. Now for the cons. Although few, here they are. 1) and most important, cleanliness. Exterior very clean, interior, not so much. Rug appeared to have never been shampooed, floors were not mopped. Although everything was wiped down, inside the storage cabinets were filthy, and this is where we are supposed to store our food? 2) the unit we rented boasted 3 cable ready tv's. Well, arrived at the campsite, started to rain so we figured, good time to try the televisions. None worked. I had the campsite employees check the signal coming in to the RV and it proved to be working perfectly. I even swapped out the provided cable wire with my own much better quality cable wire. After repeated calls to Bob and even with his prompt responses, the final answer was "it's never happened before". Although very apologetic, there was nothing he could do. It really wasn't the end of the world for us but beware families with teenagers as it will be a miserable trip for all. Next time we'll check before we leave. 3) this one isn't a con but mostly just bringing it up. To the owners of Freedom Rentals, why wouldn't you post your contract on the website? After providing you the required down payment wasn't the time to find out there was a substantial contract we had to sign. After thoroughly reading your contract, it's clear you must of been burned several times, but, we signed knowing that we would lose some of our deposit had we not. A tad odd? And finally, Upon returning the RV, on time I might add and much cleaner as well, (did I mention if we were late it would be a $25 charge?). Did I mention a similar charge if we were LATE to pick up the RV? Really? Maybe it's me, but no one asked us how the trip went, how the RV ran, if everything worked okay, nothing. Three days later we got our deposit back but still no phone calls, explanation about the televisions, nothing. Not even a survey. Being this is the first review on yelp, it's unlikely they will read this ....but maybe. Would we rent again., sure, now that we know all the rules. Will try the group in Harrisburg next just so we can compare. Very friendly group, Bob was the best, just a little strange business practices. I give three stars for cleanliness and lack of cable television. If it turns out I was wrong about the TVs, i'll edit it out. Hope this helps.
