The parking lot at this 7-Eleven was fairly small, but I parked in downtown Gettysburg, so parking was not a problem for me. The options at this 7-Eleven were fairly limited compared to some options you might see at the local Sheetz. For example, there was no sparking water and the closest option was club soda. I also got a bottle of water. Similarly, there were not a ton of snack options. There were some nuts, crackers and candy, but nothing too unique or interesting. The options were limited. Obviously, unlike Sheetz there are no custom made options. I just picked up a pop-tart because that was a tasty option that they had here and I haven't had one in a couple of years. Altogether, this 7-Eleven is pretty basic in their options, but it's convenient if you're visiting Gettysburg National Military Park and one to get a quick drink or snack.

When I came in I said hello to the clerk, but received no response. After that, I got a couple of granola bars and a drink. I found both of those items easily as the store was nicely spaced. However, the nice spacing does not make up for the limited food options. For example, they don't have any areas where you can order a fresh sandwich, but rather a selection of pre-made items. They also had an icee machine, but it did not look like it was frequently cleaned as dirty cups were lying around the machines. This Turkey Hill sells gas as well, but don't expect anything quick as it is usually packed with guests from Hershey Park.

It's the kind of store you might drive by and never give a second thought. However, it would be shame to do so. I stopped here out of necessity, not necessarily choice, and I was amazed. This store is clean! Outside trash cans were clean and empty. Parking lot was picked up and well marked. The restrooms were shiny, clean and sanitary. The coffee bar was neatly and completely stocked with a great variety of options and flavors. Every coffee was fresh and selections were numerous. The coffee bar was clean. The coolers were clean, floors were clean, and shelves were fronted and well stocked. The manager was there and I complimented her on her hard work. She and another employee explained how they take pride in their store and in the safety of their food service. Their thoughts were genuine and borne out of a desire to provide quality food service to their customers. Though this store is a chain convenience store, it is run with the pride and care congruent with a family business. If you are a fan of Turkey Hill, this is one worth putting on your list of places to shop.

I initially stopped here to get gas (the provide BP at this location) and then I wanted to go inside to get a drink and a snack to wind down my night. After going inside it felt a little to small for my liking. I had to reroute myself several times just to look at items because of the people in here. I will give them this, it is nice and bright in the store and everything seemed organized and in place. I found my items and went to pay. The two employees working made it feel like anyone that was in the store was interrupting them and we should have just left without anything in our hands. It took a while be be rung up as the guy was having a full on conversation and slowly processing the transaction. What really bothered me was that even after you paid, it felt like they were waiting to accuse you of stealing something. My friends that came with me had already paid and were waiting there for me to finish. As I was going through my transaction they kept looking at my friends, who had already paid, like they wanted to accuse them so badly of stealing what they just paid for. Once I finished my transaction we headed outside and were on our way.

We both ordered a tender sandwich and they were huge and delicious. But be warned you're going to pay a steeper price than other local stops. The coffee bar looked on point and had a good selection. The staff is some of the friendliest people I've run into above lower Virginia and I live in Pennsylvania. This is our new go to place as it's easy in and easy out vehicle wise.

I opted for mustard, onion and sauerkraut and it was a nice dog with the exception of a slightly soggy bun and that's probably from not adequately draining the kraut. They also offer 2 other versions which is on my hit list for next time. Glad to see Sheetz get a nice sized dog

But this time, I was struck by the f'real ice cream shake contraption at the side of the store. So I gave it a whirl - select your flavor, place the cup in the machine, and wait for the results. I have to admit, it was more exciting that it should have been, and the results were tasty - a nice cold snack on a hot summer day. Two thumbs up for the f'real milkshake machine!
