Bread, butter, oil and vinegar
Rachel C.

We enjoyed our appetizers at the bar. French Onion soup, burrata and the pheasant civet. It was all good... but, that bread, fresh bread with 2 kinds of butter and some oil and vinegar.

Bread with three toppers. The beer was cold!

We chose to celebrate our anniversary at Ruthie's. We love going to the casino, but had never tried it. Reservations were easy, and when we arrived, we were immediately seated. Andy was our waiter, super nice, checked in but not so often that it would be annoying. We placed our drink order, then made our menu choices. Our drink was served very fast. We were the only ones in the place. Andy took our order and we visited awhile. Bread w three toppings were served, bread was delicious! Next our steaks and baked potato arrived. Andy asked us to cut into our steak and check for the correct doneness, mine was fairly red, but the other end was cooked perfectly. We then turned to our potato. Huge potatoes, served on a separate plate with butter and sour cream. The potato was underdone. And there is no way they didn't know it! My husbands arrived severed into two complete halves, he tried to stick his fork in it and it was raw and cold! Gah! Mine was sliced half way, again who ever cut into it had to know it was not cooked. Ruined the whole dinner, We ate half our steaks and a few bites of the edge of our potatoes and called it a night. VERY DISAPPOINTED! For the price, $8 for a potato, you'd think they would be able to serve a hot, Completely cooked potato!!!

You know how some people see color when they hear music and vice versa? (Synesthesia.) Well, what is it when you hear music when you eat... and vice versa? Because I totally have that. My last Saturday night visit to Ruthie's Steak & Seafood, honestly K-Ci and JoJo were soulfully serenading in Riverside as I inhaled every.damn.bite. (For your reading pleasure I recommend you pop on this 90s jam to listen to as you look through this review.) The piano was going and they were singing... I will never find another creme brûlée sweeter than Yours, sweeter than yours. And I will never find another crab bisque more precious than yours, more precious than yours. Ruthie, girl, you are close to me you're like my mother, Close to me you're like my father, Close to me you're like my sister, Close to me you're like my brother You are the only one, the steakhouse with everything and for you this song I sing. All my life I pray for a menu like yours And I thank God that I, that I finally found dimly lit you All my life I pray for civet like yours And I hope that you feel the same way too Yes, I pray that you do, love me and my wallet too. Said I promised to never fall in love with another expert waiter, You're all I'm thinking of I praise the Lord above, For sending me your love, I cherish every wedge, I REALLY LOVE YOU! I enjoyed dinner here with 11 of my golf buddies. We had rented a private room for the dinner and were not in the main restaurant which looked very elegant. Our area was extremely nice and private. We had one server who did an outstanding job throughout the evening. The martini's were perfect and the blue cheese stuffed olives were some of the best I ever had. I ordered a Caesar salad with extra anchovies and it had the perfect amount of dressing and croutons. Several of us at the table ordered the Linguini Nero and it was an outstanding dish. The pasta was delicious in the sauce and the seafood that accompanied it was fresh and tender. The only reason I did not give 5-stars was that at the end we were initially handed a single bill. Prior to booking and then prior to ordering we were told that separate bills would be provided. After speaking with the manager, they agreed to go ahead and give us separate bills even though their policy was not do to so for parties larger than 8.

Finally - A steakhouse that really delivers! I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my experience here. Sure, there are some people in t-shirts and windows looking out onto the line of people waiting in the buffet line next door. However, you don't even notice these things because you are so engulfed by delectable entrees and full-bodied beverages that nothing can keep you from enjoying the private moments you are sharing with your dining partner(s). Every member of the staff was incredibly personable and attentive, too - a must for any top notch steakhouse experience. Whether you are looking to spend a couple hours leisurely enjoying a great meal with special company or interested in grabbing a seat at their small entry bar, you will not be disappointed. My fiance and I did both (we returned to the bar at the end of the night for a nightcap), and we would not have changed a thing.

They do a specialty butter every month, this was chocolate peanut butter.

I've been here twice, there's not much more to say than the food is average for a restaurant of this caliber, but not executed very well. Some of the menu items are severely overpriced like the Calamari, it's the same calamari you get at Applebee's, you just put a tomato sauce under it. The chicken was dry and oily, the stone fruit was mush and the rice under it was oily too. Way too much grease to even look appetizing. On Valentine's Day we got the seafood fondue and wouldn't recommend that to anyone. Some of the crab used was bad and all pieces were smaller than what you'd get at the buffet next door on crab leg night. It came with cherry tomatoes that would have been considered unusable days before, but still used on our plate. The lemon had a ton of seeds in it, I understand how nature works but if I'm paying close to $40 for an appetizer I think you can poke out the lemon seeds. They cook their steaks brilliantly, perfectly cooked and delicious. Their mashed potatoes are good but very paste like, as if they used a blender or not enough broth/butter to thin them out. I had the pork chop too, which was my favorite thing I got because of the sweet potatoes. I would recommend that over anything else. Overall, I would recommend this place for anyone who doesn't got to upscale dining a lot but not for anyone who has higher standards to accommodate the higher prices. The only bathroom is located outside of the restaurant near the casino and bistro they have next door. The bar can fit maybe 4 or 5 people by the looks of it, and the wait staff are very informal and loud while having personal non work related conversation at the front of house. But waitresses I've had have been great.

Only been here 2 times the first time 3 years ago on my first date with my husband and the second timen October 27th for our 2 year anniversary married. It was fantasy then and also on our anniversary. Our waitress was attentive and really nice. For our dessert they surprised us and wrote Happy Anniversary . Our food was delicious and made just right

The $50 sirloin steak was served cold. Because our waitress, Grace H, failed to even ask how our food was the entire time until after we had eaten everything I couldn't even send it back. I spent the entire time trying to make eye contact with her but she was busy taking new tables. When she finally came to ask how our food was and was told, her response was I will let the kitchen know. Not "I will bring you another plate" or even discount or comp the entree. Not what you'd expect from Iowa city's fine dining flagship. The prices were not just expensive, but over the top expensive. $50 for an 8 ounce sirloin. $56 for 12 average oysters. To be honest it's below average in value to a nice restaurant in LA, NY or Chicago. They may thrive because the IC elite doesn't have many options for upscale dining. But for someone who has lived in those cities and eaten at Michelin star culinary venues this place is lacking in both food and service for the prices they charge. It was enough of a bad experience that I will never be back. There's Chez Grace, Joseph's and 126 which offer quality food, much better value and food service. Posting my food pics and the receipt to see what $200 gets you here.

We travelled at the end of January and after a long day of travel and many delays due to heavy low fog, we were definitely excited to have a restaurant right in the hotel. There is a parking lot across the street and a parking deck behind as well so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is located right in the lobby and also has a full bar. My coworker and I were dying for a drink and some food after a long morning. The bar has speciality cocktails, but also a full bar, wine, and beer. You can check out their speciality cocktails, wine, and beer lists on their website as well as make reservations. For food, my coworker and I decided to share a few appetizers. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts, Wings (1/2 Honey Sriracha, 1/2 Ginger Scallion), and the Baked Goat Cheese. They were all DELICIOUS! The flavors were great and the portions were as well. I've never had goat cheese before and it was so amazing I couldn't stop eating it. The sriracha wings were spicy, but not overwhelming. Later, some other people met us and we ordered the shrimp tacos which were also very good. The next morning we also had breakfast and I ordered the Omelet which comes made-to-order and you can choose 4 different additions. It also comes with potatoes. All delicious. Additionally, the service was also great as well! If I'm ever back in Muscatine I will definitely plan to return.

This, in addition to the gorgeous 70s vibes from the restaurant. Seriously, every little piece of it has a story behind it, from the tiny pigs hanging in the beads separating two parts of the restaurant to the Gene Wilder-print paper accompanying the fries. I love it. I love the way it shows the thought and care that went into every single detail. Food: Open your menu. Find the meal with the maple-glazed carrots. Order them. Thank me. Again, no idea about where exactly they're located on the menu because I tried them at a Yelp event, but they are exquisite. The best-tasting carrots I've ever eaten. Like, I found myself wanting a plate of veggies. That should speak volumes. They also get their desserts daily from Bread Garden, and if you've ever stopped by (it's literally next door, so I would hope so), they're more like the Bread Eden. So in other words, you can expect a lot from their desserts. I had pie served on an artfully decorated plate with fresh cream on top, and I was two seconds away from licking my plate it was so good. Drinks: Their cocktails are AMAZING. I can already picture spring and summer, stopping by for a quick bite and a cocktail on their patio. This place is in an ideal location, and with excellent beverages and yummy apps, what's not to love? Decor: Did I mention it's awesome? Yeah. It's awesome. This isn't a huge restaurant, but it's worth noting that the space is divided, so it could easily accommodate a larger group with a more private dining vibe on the far side of the room. I can't wait to come back!

It gives non-college town vibes with crystal light fixtures, tiled walls, big city pictures-- and just an overall 'swanky' feel. The menu has something for everyone-- from small plates to flat breads to (oddly) a plethora of seafood entrees. Additionally, you can get stuffed olives by the skewer to order. I think this is the only place in town to have such a diverse offering of olives. (But I suppose, with a name like the Stuffed Olive-- you can't not.) I ordered a charcuterie to go and I thought bang per buck was ok? But the quality of ingredients as well as how it was packed was less than to be desired. That being said-- the greeting I got from staff when I walked in to pick up my order was great! I got my order on time and in a hurry. The real star of this IC watering hole is its extensive martini menu -- from traditional to dessert. I've popped in a time or two to enjoy these. And now that I know Mondays are buy one, get one for a penny-- I may pop in a time or two more! Staff has been hit or miss my few visits. Pricing seems on point. Parking, as always in downtown IC, is tricky. I recommend the Dubuque Parking Ramp. Overall, this is a welcomed addition to the downtown scene. I can totally see myself having a date night or girls night with a martini in hand at Stuffed Olive.
