Breakfast and Dinner menu available with excellent Menu items. Many options available for both kids and picky adults. Fresh seafood and tasty pasta entrees (however, tagliatelle is NOT spaghetti And shouldn't Be ignored if unavailable). Scallop meal will leave you hungry. Grouper meal was very well prepared. The waiter was too friendly and decided to overcharge is on both occasions. When this was brought to the manager's attention that the $200 was about $50 inflated, he failed to rectify the intentional wrongdoing. The haughty assumption of what we would like to drink after 1 prior meal (before even approaching the table) and getting 3/4 guesses completely wrong was infuriating. So, my advice is to stay clear. There are many other more honest service workers in the area! Take out may be a better option. read more

I was at a conference at the Sheraton and there weren't many options; a lot of fast food restaurants in the area. They didn't really have any veggie options so I asked if they could prepare a pasta dish for me. It took a little wrangling but the waiter came back and said the chef could comply. The chef tried a little to hard and put every vegetable he/she could find in their kitchen in the pasta including edamame. It was weird. I had asked for a few specific things but somehow the communication didn't get through. The dish wasn't bad nor was it good. There was a lot of it, that was for sure. I remember clicking my heels to remind myself I was no longer in the SF Bay Area because the waiter was about the opposite of a "foodie" -- mispronouncing vegetables and fairly ignorant. But hey...it's Florida...they know seafood! read more

We were not expecting this to be so good. I totally recommend the Caesar Salad which is served in a edible parmesan bowl. Next time we will order this with a protein and nothing else! read more

James Wolfe was an amazing host when entering the restaurant. Very friendly, generous with his time and very accommodating! Will be back and recommend Rusty's again!! read more

We have been dining at Rusty's for many years. Our visit last evening was extremely disappointing. We started with a cauliflower appetizer that was good. In past visits we enjoyed the Caesar salad it a Parmesan cheese bowl. At last evening's meal the romaine was not dressed and there was a glob of dressing in the bottom of the bowl. Certainly an unusual way to serve Caesar salad As a main course, my wife had the pasta with steak and mushroom sauce. She indicated that it was marginal at best. I had the filet that was served with hassle back potato and Utica greens. I requested the filet medium rare. The first attempt was medium well and the second attempt was virtually the same. The Utica greens were so salty they were inedible. The hassle back potato was more like an unseasoned baked potato than anything else. Our server was Danny and he alerted the manager. We were given 20% off our meal. Until you see a bunch of 5 star reviews I would steer clear of this restaurant. It is off of our list. read more

This place sucks! Stuck here fot Thanksgiving, service, food and atmosphere suck. Over priced, arrogant staff just crap.

Beautiful location on Gulf, great ambiance, party of four met to celebrate one's birthday. I had the Seafood Linguine [scampi (?)] with three extra large scallops & five shrimps nicely pan-seared & linguine. The creamed sauce had an unusual herb involved, perhaps thyme, rather than the typical garlicky flavor. I prefer the garlic. My wife enjoyed the Northwest Spiced Salmon with blueberry glaze, & asparagus. The dish also came with quinoa...not a big fan of quinoa, or couscous for that matter. The signature bread basket with my favorite, "the sticks", were good but detracted by the tiny toppings dish, i.e. three miniscule compartments for olive tapenade, butter balls, & pesto EVO2. For four diners, really(?). Desserts were very good, e.g. cheesecake with sliced strawberries & molten chocolate with vanilla ice cream. Martin, our server was cordial, informative, & attentive, as were the host & manager of the restaurant. read more

Amazing service Danny is awesome he is very friendly and I love the location! I've been twice and the food has been nothing but superb!

Rusty's Bistro sounds interesting. I'm sure Rusty is a swell guy who owns the restaurant. To me, it just sounds like eating rust. Rusty's is inside the Sheraton Sand Key Resort Hotel. They offer buffets, prix fixe meals, or you can just order off the menu. They always seem to have cool specials going on. The atmosphere reminds me of a cruise ship restaurant. I don't know why. I think it's because of the quality of food, the piano player playing adult contemporary piano hits, the staff, and a slight level of cheesiness in the atmosphere. We tried the buffet. They have decent stuff there. They have salad, a bunch of protein stations like snapper and lamb, and a prime rib station. They also had soup. The buffet, as you expect, was very salty. Everything was too salty to eat. I think it would've been a decent experience if they controlled the salt levels. I think even for a buffet, they used too much salt. Their prime rib is obviously not the best quality prime rib. It was mostly fat. And of course, it was very salty. But hey, unlimited prime rib. How can you go wrong with that? The service was very friendly and top-notch though. I felt like I was in a fancy restaurant. Hmm, maybe I was. I just couldn't shake off the cruise ship vibe. It's not a bad place to go if you're too lazy to venture out of the hotel, or if you're stuck there. Personally for me, I would rather try the places outside the hotel. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Rusty's several times since moving to Clearwater and every visit has been wonderful. They are located inside the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. I recommend using the valet parking, as finding a parking space can be difficult at times. I haven't tried all of their dinner menu items, but on our last visit, I had the Mediterranean Risotto. This dish came with leeks, mushrooms and grilled artichokes. It was outrageously delicious! Best risotto I've ever had. The dinner buffet is pretty good too and has lots of items to choose from including different variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other side dishes. The salad bar has a nice assortment of veggies as well as different types of fruits. If you don't eat at the salad bar then I highly recommend their caprese salad, it was so good that I ordered two of them. For dessert I had the vanilla crème brulee with fresh berries and it was ahhhh-mazing, needless to say I left Rusty's very full and very happy. The live music adds a touch of class to the place and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Definitely worth a visit even if you're not a guest of the hotel. read more

We went to Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Wow, how bad was it? It's incredible that Rustys would charge $40 per adult (anyone over 12 is an adult lol) for that miserable meal. Turkey was overcooked, ham was inedible, etc, etc. It was pre made and most likely put on a warmer to feed the mass that made reservations. In years past it was the best buffet ever. Curious why we would have to ask for extra gravy, because that was the only thing that was really good about the entree. Salads were good. Honestly, every person who ate there should have gotten comped for a future meal. Horrible. And please don't blame covid. Florida has been progressive in handling covid better than any state in the country. read more

Loved this for fine dining in Sand Key - food was delicious and atmosphere so relaxing. Minerva was my server and she was "spot on " Her recommendation was the red snapper- fantastic! You don't expect this quality in a "beach town" but the food, service and wine list were Top Tier all the way! Will definitely be back next trip read more

Breakfast is 15.99 for continental breakfast with hot food (potato, eggs, bacon, pancakes and daily special) with OJ. Nothing spectacular but little steep for quality. Food was okay and service was slow. read more

Rusty's was very handy to go to for a meal in the hotel we were staying in, but it is a tad expensive, for breakfast at least. When you compare it to Maggie Mae's down the street, it's twice the price. But you won't be waiting here at Rusty's for a table in the morning. A big shout out to Roberta, who was our server on both occasions we had our breakfast here. She's an angel who dispenses coffee. Charming too. She was definitely a highlight of our visits to Rusty's. The breakfast food is nice, especially the bacon. Mmmmm, crispy bacon with maple syrup was my naughty food of choice. We also had the wedding meal here on the day my best friend got married. The service on this day was also spot on. The food very nice also. It was a very pleasant wedding meal. Recommended. read more

The Rusty's Bistro at the Sheraton (in Clearwater) is nothing to brag about. Personally, I hate restaurants where Service and the Food Quality are sub-par but prices are inflated to help elevate the perception... This is definitely one of those restaurants. My family and I had dinner at Rusty's on New Year's eve 2015... The service was Poor (with a capital P). The $35 and up entrees were 99% the same items that were on the buffet. Food was cold and bland in the buffet (I know this because my children had the buffet), and Food was cold and bland as entrees... unfixable! We had a crabby and ill-mannered old server who hates children and it so clearly showed on his face we felt sick to be there (and no, my children were not loud or running around, they sat through the whole torture session with something close to a smile on their face). Will not be returning to Rusty's Bistro. Oh, I almost forgot: The music was nice and this review does not reflect on the excellent pianist that played all night long. He was amazing! read more

We stayed at the Sheraton and ate here several times for convenience. Each time we ate here, both the food and service were outstanding. Last night, however, we had Minerva as our server. She was absolutely amazing! Without a doubt, the best server I've ever had. She was attentive to all of our needs and went out of her way to make sure our dining experience was outstanding. read more

Had the opportunity to revisit Rusty's and had another great experience. They dropped the fixed price menu for the moment, so we ordered off the regular menu. Ordered grouper and my partner had the lamb/steak special. Both dishes were excellent. We also had the same waiter as our last visit. Once again, the service was superb. I highly recommend this place. read more

My mother passed away in January. We committed her ashes in the Gulf on 10/3/19. Made arrangements to have her Celebration Dinner for 17 at Rusty's Bistro. When we arrived, tables were set up, with candles and sea shells nicely arranged (thanks manager David!). Server Minerva was FANTASTIC. She had plenty of assistance, but she handled our "crew" quite well. We also had Minerva take care of 19 of us 2 years ago, in celebrating Mom's 90th birthday. Great location on Sand Key, great food, add Minerva, and these are the reasons why we came back. Thank You. Henry Tomer read more

Breakfast here was good the second time but the first day was $17 for basically the continental breakfast. order off the menu it was killer!

We stayed at the Sheraton and ate here for confidence for two breakfasts and three dinners. The staff was OUTSTANDING whether we were having a complimentary breakfast or buffet. So accommodating as we are here with two Little children. Food was delicious (we had the prime rib buffet for only $23/pp) which was delicious. Highly recommend after a day at the beach! read more

Went to Rusty's for their all you can eat Alaskan Snow Crab as they advertise on Saturday. After we were finally seated and stated to eat we found out it was snow crab. Very disappointed. Snow crab and king crab are two different things yet we still paid a king crab price. read more

Rusty's Bistro - Beware of all you can eat Alaskan King Crab... Sadly it was snow crab. As you can see, their sign even states Alaskan King Crab. - American Near Me - Clearwater Beach, Florida

We ate hear on several occasions, but only for breakfast. It is not open for lunch, but is open for dinner. We stuck with the hot buffet breakfast and found plenty to eat, including eggs, bacon, grits, biscuits, oatmeal, sausage, pancakes or french toast, breads, cereals, and sweets. Service was very good and coffee and orange juice were always quickly refilled. Eggs tend to be on the watery side, but I like them that way. If you don't want the buffet, you can also order off the menu. You can also skip the hot items on the buffet, and the price goes down. We enjoyed Rusty's for breakfast and would certainly go back. read more

The food was really great and the service was also really good. Our server was Justin and he was really nice and helpful. I got the bolognese and it was amazing. The fries were also extremely good. It was a Friday night & all the other places in town had an hour wait time so we decided to head back to the hotel & order a nice room service. The seafood scampi was pretty good & the scallop were perfect. The rest of the food was swimming in butter. Well, the more butter the better, right? Since we ordered room service, we were presented with the check when they brought us the food. My husband quickly signed it & didn't look at it. Upon further inspection we realized that they had added extra $3-4 to EVERY dish we ordered. We asked about this upon check out & they refunded our money back. Their explanation was they put in the wrong number, which is ABSURD. Shouldn't everything be on their computer system already? They can't be manually putting in numbers for every single check. TLDR: dine here if you'd like to increase your cholesterol, but double check your bill before you pay. read more

Took my family there a couple of days before New Years Eve and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Everything was made from scratch and the food quality and service were really a cut above. Our server Blake was super friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. We liked it so much we asked if they were accepting reservations for New Years Eve. Blake took care of everything for us. NYE was again a very good experience. Well thought out menu executed perfectly. The only drawback and what caused me give it a 4 instead of a 5 was our experience with the host stand supervisor. We booked our reservation with Blake at the time we made the reservation but when we showed up they sat us with someone else. I asked to be moved to Blake's section and the host supervisor rolled her eyes, huffed, and said "uhhm no we're like totally booked"...it was 6 pm and we were the first guests to arrive. I politely asked again and she said she'd have to speak to the "director". She rolled her eyes again and walked away, coming back moments later she told one of the hosts to seat us. So apart from a snotty host it was amazing and I'd gladly go again. read more

Wow we made reservations here for Mothers Day and decided to have Chef Harris special which was Filet Minion ( 2 approx 4 oz) Cooked to perfection with Lobster chunks and a lobster sauce. We had a terrible experience. We were excited to try this place based on reviews but left disappointed. The atmosphere was that of an all inclusive in another country and our waiter hacked the bottle of wine trying to get it open. The food was subpar and we were left disappointed with a $115 bill and sick stomachs. Even if a hurricane was brewing outside, we would leave the hotel next time in search of a better meal. read more

Had the crab cake appetizer, the crab crusted snapper entrée, and the bread pudding desert. My wife had the mixed grill and the creme brule. All were as good or better than anything we've had before. I have absolutely nothing but the best to say about this place. We stayed at the Sheraton and my hubby did the most romantic surprise he ever had for me! (And trust me he does a lot of surprises that I can never guess and leaves me open mouthed!) On Monday May 26th after a full day of being burnt on the beach we drove around aimlessly and were sitting at the bar inside around 7pm for a drink. A waiter came up and approached me and asked me to follow him. Outside by the pool area there is an upper deck where you can order lunch and that whole space was closed off with a single round table and 2 seats for us. It was very sweet with our own server and own dinner place. Food: appetizers we ordered caprese salad and the calamari, main course: mixed grill and herbed chicken. The food was AMAZING, beautifully decorated and decent size, it was very flavorful. Dessert: heart shaped tiramisu which they made for us. (The mixed grill was so good that I even tried making the garlic mashed potato that came with it when I got home) Service: I cannot go above and beyond to compliment Austin. He was attentive and amazing as well as making sure we always had a drink. Very well presented and give him A+++! Thank you Austin for making this a very special surprise for me! read more

My boyfriend and I were staying at the Sheraton so we decided to try Rusty's one evening since it was raining out and we didn't want to drive somewhere for dinner. It was 7pm on a Sunday evening and it was empty. There was an older couple a few tables away from us but that was it! It was kind of nice, like we had the whole place to ourselves. We started with the conch chowder, which was amazing! I had the Seafood Extravaganza, which I really regretted. There was an abundant number of seafoods on my dish but there was this orange glaze that covered them. It ruined the dish for me and I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend had the lamb rack which was cooked perfectly. Since my meal was less than satisfying, I was determined to get dessert! The chocolate lava cake is to die for! read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOOD, SERVICE, and ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!! We had the calamari, steak n cake, and grouper piccata. This is better than a 5 star restaurant. They also offer a prix fixe menu for only $29. read more

Another great meal at Rusty's! The calimari appetizer is the best! Tender strips of Parmesan dusted Humboldt calimari in a lemon butter caper sauce. Filet was very good but too much Demi-glacé. We had the banana foster dessert crepes; prefer traditional banana foster (Conch Republic in Redington is the best, if they still do this tableside). read more

Sure, it is a hotel restaurant, and a Sheraton to boot, but Rusty's is well worth your consideration if you are in the Clearwater area. The menu is diverse, from steak to Mediterranean polenta. Two recent visits resulted in consistent food quality and a well trained staff. The location on Sand Key is magnificent and sunset with wine is a great way to end a fine evening. read more
