Most recently we got take out on a Friday night at 5 pm. Food 4/5: we have tried many different tacos over the year. We currently love their breakfast tacos, Shrimp tacos, and chips and guac. Well balanced season wise and you can customize to make more or less spicy. Giving them a 4 because one of the salsas we got was rancid. Service 1/5: the user experience of their website could use improvement. We always order ahead of when we go and the amount of times I've had to re enter my order or the website not letting me log in happen everytime we order. This is also the first time our order has been correct. Either they forget tacos/chips or include incorrect ones, the newer staff seems to check but previous staff generally did not. Ambiance 4/5: we have eaten in the restaurant before. Be careful that sometimes the bathrooms are out of order. If you sit in certain spots of the restaurant it is freezing cold in the winter. Outside of that the restaurant has a fun theme. Overall we really love this place but have been disappointed with food errors and website challenges. read more

This is a very cute taco spot. I'm a sucker for street tacos and this place did not disappoint. There were many menu options to choose from. The staff was courteous. The food did take a little bit of time but it didn't bother us because they have board and card games! The parking lot is rather small so be mindful of the time you're thinking about visiting. Avoid rush hours. I definitely will be visiting again. read more

Rusty Taco has always been a go to since I have friends with dietary restrictions such as dairy and/or gluten free. I love that it is easy to modify and select options based on dietary needs. Headed to this location after a nearby workout class to celebrate my birthday with a friend - staff were great, answered questions, and were friendly. The blended margarita mix was not working so had to go with the iced version - fine but it was my birthday and I was looking forward to blended, no biggie but a bummer. Again, the staff/cashier tried to get it to work and was friendly. Then I had a email for a free chips and dip but it was not working so the cashier honored it anyways which was appreciated. I asked to pay for chorizo to be added, he did so but when I got my food, there was no chorizo. I did not say anything but strike two for me (no blended margarita and now no chorizo). I got a #2 Roasted Pork Taco which I have ordered many times from various Rusty Tacos, it was not tasting very good...tasted gamey or rancid almost. But who knows what the reason was. I nibbled on the chips and cheese (no chorizo) and tried to nibble around the pork. Again, the employees were great, it was not them. The iced margarita also was VERY sweet and tasted artificial - I slurped it down but eek, for the price and what it was, I was not pleased. I did appreciate the cashier working with us to choose a flavor and rim (salt or sugar) and then when the blended was not working, he was great and apologetic. The prices are fair, space inviting. The bathrooms were graffiti ridden and a bit dirty but not concerned. For sure check this Rusty Taco out - just always go for honest reviews and will revisit and update as I go. read more

Good for a cheap, quick bite. Tacos are about $3-$4 each. Would highly reccommend the grilled shrimp taco, as it was my favorite. Service was extremely fast. Also got the queso, guac, salsa and chips to share, which was pretty decent, but the queso came with a bit of a hardened film at the top - like it was sitting out for a while. read more

Being a chain restaurant, Rusty Taco comes with delicious tacos, always. Each taco is priced individually and makes it easy to mix and match your own taco platter. Their roasted pork, fried chicken and fish tacos are so delicious. You also get two levels of spice for your taco sauce and limes which really compliments the flavors. The tacos range from $3-$5/ taco which isn't out of range for the amount of protein and toppings they come with! Also! Are these definitely more Tex-Mex than authentic tacos? Sure, and they are delicious. All of the tacos are super flavorful: my favorites are the Rusty taco (the pineapple adds a great sweetness to the taco) and the fish taco (I like the fish grilled). Their queso is also delicious and worth getting - maybe it's the thin but not too thin crispy tortilla chip, maybe it's the queso but either way it's addicting. I was meh about the elote though so wouldn't recommend that. All the tacos are between $3.50-$4.50 so pretty reasonably priced. I would say 2-3 tacos is usually sufficient for me. The tacos come out really quick too. They also have a little fridge where you can grab what kind of salsa you want on your tacos if you would like. They have a small lot next to the restaurant. Has been crowded a couple of times but I've always managed to find a spot. This place definitely has a spot on my regular restaurant rotation list. read more

Food is amazing, service is lacking. We stopped in after the nearby taco place centro was going to be an hour wait. Our appetites could not be wait so we found the nearest taco place to stop: rusty taco. The place was clearly busy with takeout orders and we stood at the counter waiting for probably 7ish minutes before even being greeted. I get if you're busy, but at least a glance in our direction or acknowledgment that you'd be over soon? Finally a cashier came over and just stood there: no greeting or asking what we want, just waited for us to initiate conversation. We started our order but he had to do something mid order so he missed a side that I ordered. We then asked for margaritas and they're completely out.. hm. We ordered a variety of tacos and all of them were great! Nice big trays for lots of tacos. We also got the queso and quesadilla. I loved trying their 3 signature salsas as well. Would order for delivery, but honestly wouldn't stop by again on purpose due to the poor service. read more

We ordered to go and brought it to a brewery for dinner! First time at Rusty Taco and I'd definitely go back. We split a variety pack and I got a brisket taco with no onions. It was really good and the meat was amazing. I also got a kids quesadilla that was supposed to have steak but they forgot about the steak so that was disappointing but the tater tots were surprisingly crispy and good. The queso was alright and so were the chips but I'd go back for more tacos! read more

The food is just ok. We've tried the brisket, chicken, Baja shrimp, and carnitas. All of them were just ok and tasted cheap in quality. The staff is great and friendly but the space is usually messy and dirty. Feels a bit unsanitary and I have a pretty low bar for that! I wouldn't recommend this place unless you like unauthentic Tex mex (ex: BBQ brisket, fried chicken tacos). I've been here 3 times but I've never walked away feeling satisfied. I do like that they have unlimited salsas in the fridge pictured. They have pretty good chips and guac! read more

Rusty Taco, part of a small chain across the country, doesn't offer any labeled vegan options, but has a couple dishes that can be modified to fit the bill. I got a Cauliflower (grilled) bowl ($8.50 + $2 for avocado) and found it acceptable. It consisted of black beans, grilled cauliflower and cilantro-lime rice. I made it vegan by omitting the crema. I liked the puffy rice and the general light, wholesome nature of the bowl. Rusty Taco also has black bean tacos and a crispy cauliflower bowl or taco. They don't offer tofu, seitan or other mockmeats. I think Chipotle is more creative, flavorful and vegan-friendly than Rusty Taco, but I appreciate having other options around. read more

I had the Rusty Taco and chorizo breakfast Taco. The corn tortilla for the Rusty Taco was cold and felt like they just pulled it out of the package. The filling was okay but the Taco fell apart because of the cold tortilla. The breakfast Taco was very salty. Tacos from Taco bell would have been a better choice. The tacos on the menu were not traditional. They failed to improve or enhance the taco. read more

We enjoyed a quick lunch here and there are so many taco options, I had a hard time choosing. Settled on 2 shrimp (one grilled and one fried shrimp) and a brisket taco. I enjoyed the cabbage mix on the shrimp tacos, but the brisket taco was the winner of the bunch. Wow! the flavor and the texture of the meat was outstanding and the sauce just made it perfect. I would definitely get that one again! Order at the counter and they bring your order to your table. Fast, friendly service. read more

Rusty Taco is a fun little fast food joint, and a fixture in Northeast. Kids love it. The menu is expansive and I appreciate that. 15 different taco options, plus also breakfast. Service and presentation were also impressive. But when it came to the tacos I had here, kinda meh. The meat was shredded so fine that it lost all personality. I wanted to like this fun novelty place and I kinda do. But probably not enough to eat here again unless I have kids with me. read more

make sure you check your receipt when order from here I ordered Trio from here for $17.80 and I received one taco which would've been a price of $5 dollars but I got charged $17.80 and when I got home and noticed that it was closed today, June 21 and I was talking to the cashier about it. She humped her shoulders. She wouldn't give me corporate number. She wouldn't give me a number so you have to check your order because they don't mind watching food for the high price. I'll give this half there's little to no meeting here and I will take pictures and show you , it's just ridiculous. The economy is really high right now and people are food and tacos is ridiculous. I remember back when it was "Rusty Taco". I've been eating here for years. I feel like every other visit is hit or miss. Really depends on service & who's working the kitchen (or putting the tacos together). Sometimes I get 2 little pieces of meat per taco, sometimes I get 5. I feel like their tacos are a little too expensive to be so stingy with the meat. I like the different combinations of tacos they have to offer. I've only tried the chicken tacos. The fried chicken taco is my favorite and the only one I usually order now. Chips and guacamole aren't great here. I feel like the gauc doesn't have enough flavor & the chips taste like oil. The margaritas are cheap & good here! The raspberry margarita on the rocks is really good! The staff... they usually aren't too friendly. I've never been greeted, I usually have to wait at the cashier stand before someone comes over to help & they are usually rushing. They have a parking lot & limited free street parking, other wise you can park at a meter across the street or somewhere in the neighborhood, if it's ever that busy. read more

0 stars if I could. Besides the tacos tasting like absolute trash, the employees also suck. We got our food and had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes for the employee to pour a pre made drink when nobody else was here because of how stoned he was. Then 5 minutes to figure out how to ring up a side of sour cream because the tacos were more dry than the Saharan desert, which the sour cream didn't even help with how bland it was. Anyways, rusty taco is a hell no taco go next door instead. The beef tasted like an entire gallon of salt was poured on top of it. read more

The price is definitely right at Rusty Taco. I like going here for a cheap dinner of tacos and queso. They have really cheap margaritas too if you're in the mood! I really like the crispy shrimp and fried chicken taco. Sadly I'm not a big fan of many of the other tacos on the menu, and sometimes their consistency isn't great-- I've had some pieces of shrimp that are delicious and others that are cold and soggy. Big fan of their queso dip as well, but it's hard for me to argue with melted cheese. There's a good amount of parking out back(shared with Spitz and the ecig place) so it's a convenient stop for me on my way home. I would recommend it for a quick bite if you're in the mood for tacos but don't expect to be blown away. read more

The name of this restaurant should be called trash on tortillas! This place should be so embarrassed by the tacos they are serving. I wouldn't even classify them as tacos they are that horrible. Serving cold tacos with zero absolute zero flavor. Undercooked tortillas. Didn't waste my breath complaining because the literal glazed over blank faces of the employees should have been all the red flag I needed to walk out the door. But I was optimistic to give them the benefit of the doubt and an opportunity to blow my mind which they beyond failed at. Most of the tables were dirty as well with bits of food left there from previous guests. I would 100% recommend skipping this place. In fact they should just close the doors and shut down altogether. Your abuelas should be ashamed of the food your serving. read more

Decent tacos, super fast service, and a freebie if you check in on Yelp, what's not to like? I would call this fast food, slightly elevated. We got take out. Of course I went here because of my favorite food on the planet, fish tacos, and they have TWO kinds of fish tacos, grilled and fried. I had one of each, and decided I definitely preferred the fried fish taco. The grilled one was tasty too, but it got too soupy, and the taco fell apart so I had to eat it with a fork. I am glad I ordered the Baja sauce on the side, thanks to another Yelper who said they were too saucy. I got a 3rd veggie taco, but I ended up not eating it because I was full from the free chips & queso as well as the side of guacamole that we got. We both thought the guacamole ($5) was kind of bland, but we spiced it up by dumping some salsa in it. I wish they had some different salsa options, but they basically just have mild, medium and hot. If we ever eat in, I would love to try the margaritas. read more

Not sure how long this restaurant has been around, but I have been dying to try it out. Today was the day -when I drove by with an empty belly! The guy at the counter was pretty helpful will pointing out the favorites and what to pair them with. He stated most people order 2-3 tacos and a side. The chalkboard menu and descriptions are all up on the wall to see. At $2-3 per taco, this cheap meals deserves to add on a local brew as well. I put in an order for #12 black bean, #8 Baja shrimp tacos with a side of chips & guacamole. The tacos were good, but just missing a little something, so be sure to put on the habanero sauce and house salsa! The #12 was tasty, but completely fell apart after my first bite. So, I decided to ditch the tortilla and eat the mixture with my chips and guacamole. The guacamoles was a pretty heaping serving for $0.75. The space was bright, clean, colorful and conducive for a meal on your own or groups. I will definitely be back since a decent, quick meal for a reasonable price is hard to come by these days. Decided to try Rusty Taco on a whim, and man, I'm glad I did. The churros were awesome--still warm when I got them home, which is good because I don't live close by. What's more is that the meal was very affordable for Minneapolis.
