Well, should you find yourself in Canton and have a craving for a bar burger done right, a reasonably priced glass of the sudds and friendly folks, The Nail is your locale. I've been going to the Nail for years. It's dark, unpretentious and you'll most likely see the same folks and staff every time you're in. Great burgers cooked to order, generous pours on the mixed drinks (one of the few places I'll order a Long Island Iced Tea) and some pretty good specials. They have everything from your typical nachos, mozzarella sticks, burgers and sandwiches to some pretty tasty Mexi-merican burritos. I love their big cushy booths lining the walls, but usually sit at the bar to join in the conversation. Cold drinks and good food. I've been to the "Nail" numerous times and have always come away satisfied. Fish and chips on Friday, $3.99 burger and fries on Saturday (Seriously, best deal around), and some decent drink specials during the week. Decent service, food looking/smelling enticing (even after just having eaten) trivia, flat-screen TVs littered throughout and specials that are worth a damn. One detail to my dismay really stood out though. For a watering hole with such a tough name, I was expecting a stiff cocktail. Ehhh, not so much. I regret to inform you monsieur (Yeah, so I utilize Casablanca jargon subsequent to dropping slang de Larry David) this ever so tightly run establishment probably keeps a good eye on the pours these days, if not has an auto-measuring bottle pourer. The Nail has been in Canton since the 1970s Its a dive bar, it reminds me of hanging out at my friends basement back in the 1980s Cheap beer, standard bar food late 70s and early 80s music always being played Mounted squirrels wearing funny hats along the wall, you get the picture Not the worst food, not the best. It is my fall-back bar when I want to get out of the house with some friends for a few hours. We were there last night for dinner (7.11.21) and it was so good! I love the updates - new menu, well lit, awesome music! We split (which I definitely recommend) the prime rib sandwich and fries. Good stuff. The Rusty Nail is a solid option for some bar food and a beer if you want to go out to watch a game. Service is friendly and while the food is just typical bar food, it is good and I have never had a problem with anything I have ordered. There are daily specials. My husband is a fan of the Wednesday coney special. I usually get a grilled cheese sandwich, regardless of the day. The beer is cold and relatively inexpensive. Most importantly, there are lots of high-quality televisions showing sporting events. And lots of tables, most seats with a view of the game you want to see. While the Nail does fill up, we can usually get a table without a problem. You can't go wrong. read more

Stopped by for a drink and a bite. Looks a little divey from the outside, and its larger inside than what it looks driving by but the real winner is the friendly wait staff and bar tenders. The food is amazing (French Dip or Steak bites for the win). Strong drinks and a juke box I can use my iPhone to connect to. What more could you want. read more

We stop in here once every month to six weeks. Normally for a Berger and a beer. If I was rating this establishment along with the service for a Berger & beer, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. They have daily specials that repeat on the same day every week. I like Sloppy Joe's, so when we stopped in this past Thursday, I thought I'd give em a try. 2 for $5. I'm sorry I did. Hands down without exception, including the school cafeteria, these were the WORST Sloppy Joe's, I've ever had. The texture and consistency is reminiscent of canned dog food. Did I say Manwich is better? It is. All I could taste was first vinegar and second Worcester Sauce - that's it. These two flavors weren't even integrated. Thirdly there was a mildly hot sensation in my mouth. Not spicy, not flavorful, just mild heat. If a place is going to have the same weekly special week after week, wouldn't you expect it to be worth repeating? These Sloppy Joe's aren't. I'll be back, but only for the Berger & beer. read more

Great little sports bar. I really go here for the fried mushrooms and wings. Honestly the sauce is just average. But the wings and mushrooms are really good. High tables are so crooked. This is a real dive - a place I imagine a ton of singles and townies visit. The mixed drinks are Ann Arbor prices, but the Tetanus Shot (Rumchata-based drink) is unique and surprising good. Their alcoholic hot chocolate is amazing (think the chocolate mints you get after a meal at Olive Garden). Their pub food is merely average. I had the deep fried mushrooms. It was fine. Good ranch. We went for Seinfeld trivia night. As trivia games go, it seemed well-organized. I wouldn't visit, but it's not really my thing. read more

I had not been there in nine years. Wow, was I impressed. They now have big screens all over, some with music others with games and news. I ordered the fish and chips and it was very good. The food is much more upscale than I remember. This is definitely not a dive or a hole in wall bar either. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Definitely a "hole in the wall" type of bar, but I've been there a few times and have always received great service. It's a place with lots of regulars, but I've never felt out of place walking in. You know how sometimes you walk into a "regulars" bar and everyone turns around and looks at you? That's not this place. It's usually always a mixed age crowd too. Food is also good, although just your typical bar food and nothing unique. Good place to watch a game because they have a lot of TV's and you get a great view no matter where you sit. So I'd highly recommend you check out Rusty Nail if these type of bars are up your alley. read more

5 stars because of food and cost. The food might not be "the best" but it's so darn cheap, you can't really hate. PLUS, a regular order of chili and cheese fries is enough for a group of people to split, is really darn good, and only costs a few bucks. They have really good specials as well, a person can eat for $5! read more

Oh, the nail. The menu is way over-priced. The food selection isn't terrible, but leaves some to be desired. The beer selection, however, is just awful. I get it, you're not a craft beer joing, but at least give me something better than piss water beer. Getting together with the guys on Tuesday nights is nice, but I've been pushing to go elsewhere. Much better without the smokers! Thank GOD Michigan passed the no-smoking law for eating establishments. This place used to be so smoky you could hardly see from one end to the other. Food is slightly above average bar fare. Typical Michigan bar. read more

We've lived in the Canton area for over 20 years, and just started to go to the "Nail." Their $3.99 burger and fries special on Saturday is a great deal, especially on football Saturdays. Note: for people who like turkey reubens, it has cole slaw, which I like, but my dinner guest expected sauerkraut. Service is quick and attentive. They have a different special every day of the week. The interior of the bar has a lot of wood, paneling and wood used in their booths, which I'm wondering helps to keep the noise level down. So nice to sit in a bar and be able to hear your dinner guest's conversation without having to raise your voice. read more

Great fun atmosphere with plenty of TV's to watch the ball game, which is number one in my book. The burgers and chili were really good at super low prices which is hard to find at most bars these days. The bartender was a friendly good guy. Give the Rusty Nail a try for a fun night. read more

Awful! We went in @7 & stayed till 8:30 with 3 kids to eat "dinner" & it is definitely NOT a place for kids at all , we had guys behind us being loud and obnoxious ( we were on the dining side ) & pissing everyone off around him and the owner did nothing & actually was rude to us for having kids in there @8 .This bar is only good for a drink with your buddy's ( apparently 50 & up ) I don't recommend this bar unless your looking to have a couple beers after 9. read more

Small on the outside and small on the inside. But they seem to make the best of the space they have. The bar was full but we opted just for food anyways so we sat in the booths across from it. Rowdy old white guys watching sports but thats nothing they can control. We ordered drinks (not myself, but my two coworkers did). Waitress/bartender asked for IDS. Coworker showed his and was fine. My other coworker didnt have her purse and therefore no ID. W/B said she had to see one to the dismay and annoyance of my coworker but im glad she stuck by the law of checking (even if my coworker was pissed she couldnt drink). Wouldnt want her to get in trouble for serving drinks without checking an ID. I had the crispy chicken pita wrap and it was tasty! Overall a good experience. But the place does feel cramped and the W/B was busy at the bar and couldnt always refill our drinks or clear our plates. read more

A decent neighborhood bar on Ford Road in Canton.As far as I know there are very few neighborhood type bars in this area as most places are the big chain variety. I`ve only been there once but it agreed with me.The cheeseburger and fries were good and the beer was cold.The bar was clean and well kept up and the barmaid was friendly.Lot`s of flat screen TVs to keep you entertained. read more
