Walk inside to high ceilings and low-set chandeliers garnished with crystals and brass trim. The store is a massive collection of decor for all rooms in the home, and fixtures both big and small. Tables and chairs, place settings, dishes, wine holders, umbrella bins, candelabras, lamps, bath salts, soaps-- the list doesn't end. The store's vast collection of material goods is unified under a gorgeous Baroque inspired esthetic. The store is well laid out; however, it seems impossible to take it all in during one visit. There is an overwhelming abundance of things to look at, but an obvious eye for detail and decadence. Affiliated with Abby's Fabric Shop, the store also contains plentiful fabric spools to allude luxury. Bellissimo is rich and a gorgeous spot to explore. Prices are heavy, so I will continue to daydream for now. But with the fantasy selection of pretty things, I shall encourage my Parisian cliché with visits to Bellissimo Boutique.

Eclectic assortments scatter throughout with shelving situated both high and low. Not a speck of extra space, but enough of it to know that everything has its own place. I was in awe with the store's containment of special little things. From vintage hair picks to a silver engraved cigarillo case. These collections speak stories and it seems impossible not to find something wish-worthy. I instantly became attached to an old style brass candle holder. Tea cups, pocket watches, records, cutlery, furniture, cufflings, toy trucks, literature-- the crop is plentiful and of fantastic quality. The gorgeous Parisian style couch was a show stopper. As was the rustic round wooden table. You get the picture. This would be a fantastic place to visit if you're looking to add a little extra charm to your surroundings. The owner also offers an 'Antique Finder' service in which people looking for a particular item can call in and he will try to find it for you. A special little spot filled with good finds.

Last time I visited, Andrew and I purchases a vintage microphone. We bought it for only about $40, and it was in great condition. We got it home, figured out the proper adapter, and had it working in no time. As well as old electronics, they also have delicate china, records, home furnishings and other odds and ends. This is a delightful little Hydrostone shop worth a visit.

Today, it's still a nice shop in a great location on Dresden Row. The windows make for great lighting and make it easy for something to catch your eye as you stroll by. I do find it borders on overstuffed most of the time though. The front area is nicely staged, but once you walk through to the Queen Street side, you're usually dodging ottomans in order to take a peak. I haven't been nearly as excited with my recent visits simply because I find the styles haven't really updated much over the past few years and the staff haven't been all that welcoming. Still, it's a good spot to find furniture for the downtown condo lifestyle that you won't find at the warehouses.

The store is a double isle of content with minimal trinkets and lots of grande. Its a solid enough spot for a look if you're furniture shopping. The owner of the store was friendly enough, displaying some dry humor as he encouraged my sister and I towards the rifles. This antique shop isn't of the trinket variety, instead carrying large furniture pieces and lamps, with some china and decor sprinkled in the mix. I've never been offered a salutation on my handful of visits to this shop, but I browse nonetheless, ignoring the fact that I am perpetually ignored. Today I eyed a marvelous brass and crystal candelabra, wearing a $495 price tag as well as a few rich and gorgeous bureaus. There are pieces dating back to the 1920s, perfectly restored with care, precision and expertise. The store proprietor, Jim McLellan has been working in the restoration business for some 25 years now, so brings much experience to the art of refurbishing antique goods. A fine place to duck into if you're on the hunt for some fancy home furnishings.

Most of them apparently never learned how. One older woman who works cash on Sundays, especially stands out: She always greets me with a grumpy voice, has never smiled, never said "how are you?", "thank you" or "have a nice day", even though I always have to her. I don't bother saying anything to her anymore. The two stars here are only for the younger, friendly woman at the cutting table.

Many times, it is easier and more efficient to buy a bolt from the store rather than wait for the suppliers in Canada and the US. Went to Dartmouth to return the fabric today and was told to take it back to the Halifax location, Was told that there was no problem returning the fabric, since we are well known customers and usually buy large quantities of material. Was told that it had to be remeasured, which is understandable, since I may have taken an inch of two, which was not the case. Generally try to avoid the Halifax location, although it is located nearby our costuming business. I would rather spend money on tolls and gas to go to Dartmouth rather than deal with the Halifax location. The fabric was accepted, begrudgingly, although I felt that I was seen as something less than a valued customer. I was told that they do not accept returned fabric, since they have done so in the past and there have been bugs. What I am to infer from this comment? We have a large warehouse for the fabric that is clean, humidity controlled and certainly free of pests and bugs. Should I worry about bugs being in the fabric when I am buying from Fabricville? There is no information stating that there are no returns on fabric, aside from no returns on cut fabric. Please make this clear to your customers. In the future, I will shop elsewhere. I will make a point to avoid the Halifax store and can shop for sundries on line and fabric as well. I have never had a bad thing to say about the delivery drivers who come regularly to my door with packages. I learned growing up in a business family that when someone is happy, they may tell one person. If they are unhappy with the service they received they will tell ten people and so on, You have lost of customer, of which you seemingly don't care. This is unfortunate, since retail can hardly afford to disconnect with the paying public.

I am writing to share a frustrating experience I had with the customer service at your Halifax…read moreBayers Lake location, which has left me feeling disregarded and disheartened. In late July, I purchased a 16 cu. ft. Vissani deep freeze from the Bayers Lake store. Unfortunately, by mid-October, the freezer stopped working, and I lost all of its contents. I tried various solutions but couldn't get it working, so I sought warranty assistance. However, I couldn't find my receipt, which I needed for the repair. Initially, I contacted customer care via telephone, and the representative assured me that my receipt could be retrieved at the Bayers Lake store. On October 28, I went to the store, providing a three-day purchase window, the exact sales amount, and the model information, hoping they could locate the purchase. I was informed, however, that since it was a cash purchase, no record could be found, and no one offered assistance in locating it, despite the details I provided. I requested to speak with Assistant Manager Lyt Adams, who offered a full refund if I returned the freezer, though all I wanted was a working freezer. Initially, all I was looking for was my receipt so I could go through the warranty process and have my freezer repaired or replaced. However, I accepted this solution and was given paperwork to return within the week with the freezer. On October 30, I returned to the store with the freezer and paperwork, only to be told by a different associate that I could not receive a cash refund, only store credit. The associate's attitude made me feel as though I was doing something wrong, and it was made clear that store credit was my only option. Reluctantly, I accepted the store credit. On November 7, I found my original receipt and returned to the store, expecting that I could now receive a refund instead of store credit. I spoke again with Assistant Manager Lyt Adams, who said he would escalate the matter to Store Manager Ashley White and assured me that I would hear back from her. The next day, however, I received no call from Ms. White. Instead, Mr. Adams called me later that evening to inform me that there was nothing they could do, and the first thing he pointed out was that I was now past the 90-day return period. However, when I initially visited the store and spoke with Mr. Adams, I was within the 90-day period, so this feels especially frustrating. Throughout this process, all I wanted was a working freezer. I would be more than willing to purchase a replacement freezer from Home Depot, but there are no comparable models available in size, price, or immediate availability. I am disappointed that no one assisted me in locating the receipt initially, nor did anyone attempt to find an alternative solution to the product failure. Instead, I was left with store credit and no suitable replacement options in stock. This experience has left me questioning Home Depot's commitment to customer satisfaction. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously to improve service for future customers.
