We had a party of five and were seated in the inside/outside section with a heater nearby. The most remarkable lady , Staci, was outstanding as our server. I got the special which was some sort of Indiana pork cutlet sandwich with subbed out onion rings for fries. Everything was piping hot fresh. The tenderloin pork chop cutlet or whatever you want to call it was nice and tender with a great breading but it was slightly on the salty side. Nevertheless, once you make a sandwich out of it with the lettuce, pickles, tomato, mayo, onion, and bread it balances all out. It was a perfect lunch portion. I really liked the vinaigrette dressing. Bar type feel but comfortable. Only downfall was figuring out how to get to the parking lot and the front of the restaurant. Started with Peel and eat shrimp with cocktail and Crab Louie sauces, soft cool and delicious. Next was the wild mushroom pizza, I wanted the truffle oil, it was great, not too little that I couldn't taste it and not too much where it was over powering, again delicious. I had the strawberry cheesecake to wrap it up but I forgot to take a pic. It was good though. The waitress I had was nice, she came to visit enough to make sure everything was good. Although it was not my original intention, this ended up being my first indoor dining experience since the pandemic started. We've been ordering curbside pickup from The Rusty Bucket throughout the pandemic. However, we received an email coupon for a BOGO entree that was only valid for dine-in. I saw that although my go-to Rusty Bucket in Upper Arlington didn't offer outdoor seating, this particular location in Hilliard was advertised on OpenTable as having outdoor seating. So I made a reservation on OpenTable for outdoor seating. In fact, OpenTable made it seem like the only option available was outdoor seating. So I was surprised when we were seated indoor, right in the middle of the restaurant. I saw that they had an outdoor patio, but it was already enclosed with a clear plastic tarp in prepartion for cold weather... so I guess outdoor seating wasn't really an option at all. I'm not sure if the blame should fall on OpenTable or The Rusty Bucket, but this was an unpleasant surprise. Every server was wearing masks appropriately and the indoor seats were either spaced adequately or had a plexiglass divider between them, so we decided to stay and give pandemic style indoor dining a try. They have the full menu available for dine-in, whereas for takeout some items like the Cheese Blanket Nachos are missing. So that was a definite plus for dining in. All of our meals came quickly, they were just as good as it's always been, and our server was lovely. So overall a good dining experience, just with the major hiccup of not having outdoor seating available despite what OpenTable says. read more

Every time we have come here the service has been great and the food even better. Portions are so big you could make several meals out of it. In the summer they did a reading program for kids where if they read 5 books they got a free kids meal. I loved that and so did my son! When we have gone, it has always been clean and cozy with the fireplace in the middle of the restaurant. I would recommend this venue. Attended a rehearsal dinner in the private sunroom. Three tables each had their own waitress. Everything was organized. We had preprinted menus with several food items in each category. We circled what dish we wanted and put our name on it. The wait wasn't long to get our starters. We got French onion soup and Nickel salad. The onion soup wasn't too salty. The salad had bacon and blue cheese and was a small meal in its self. For entrees we chose the beef stroganoff which was noodles covered in a tasty shredded beef, and the chicken Parmesan, which was delicious. For dessert the strawberry shortcake came with ice cream in a tall glass. The slice of NY style cheesecake was good. read more

We decided to go to Rusty Bucket this past weekend for lunch and I couldn't resist the brunch menu. I decided to go with the brunch menu and get the breakfast burrito. It was covered in a sweet chipotle salsa and drizzled in sour cream. At first I thought it was a little a little small but after pushing through I couldn't even finish it. The red potatoes weren't ready in the kitchen so I got sweet potato fries which were delicious. This is a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, so I was shocked at her lack of customer care just repeating it needed to be requested with the online ordering. We stayed down the street at one of the new hotels in the area for a multi day business meeting. The Bucket was in a state of confusion when we were there. Multiple people serving us- incorrectly. The beer order was wrong. My soda was diet and not regular. The appetizers we ordered did not come out. We were served our dinners and then a server asked if we still wanted our appetizers AFTER we were about halfway done with the main course. Food was ok. Burgers were nothing special and why we ordered fish in Ohio?! We did do apps after dinner with more beverages. I had dessert too. Server was very attentive, food arrived promptly. The burger had great flavor with fresh and ample toppings; the bun was perfect. My wife had mistakenly ordered Sicilian Pizza, but liked it. I tried a slice and was impressed. I'm a hard-sell when it comes to pizza, but this was very good. It included a nice ensemble of meats and veggies on a thin crust with a slightly sweet sauce, which was to my liking. Rusty Bucket reminded me of a modern day Denny's. I say modern because they have a full sports bar with drinks. Denny's does not. Also the ambiance is nice and updated to a version that I have been used to seeing in Northern California. Denny's tends to be well... it's Denny's. And for the food, it really wasn't that bad. Though my Fish & Chips was a bit greasy, the coleslaw and fries made up for it. My buddies food were not bad either, not the best but our waitress made it all up in the end. She was fantastic. If you're looking for a sports bar with decent meals while you watch the game and catch up with your buddies, give Rusty Bucket a try. It just might surprise you!
