Had to replace some tires. Called up and the owner was super nice. He said to come on in and he'll do it in about 20 mins. It was actually shorter and the price was $45. I will return the next time I need any maintenance work. read more

Brian (owner) is a meticulous, knowledgeable mechanic, good communicator and is a great source for local ride information. I highly recommend this business. read more

Russian River Cycle Service - Awesome road Brian! Thank you! - Bike Rentals Near Me - Forestville, California

Was on a long roadtrip with our E-bikes, and noticed our RadCity 3 had a flat rear tire. We were staying 4mi from Forestville and saw this repair shop so stopped by. Was greeted warmly by owner and his son. They fixed my flat within an hour for a reasonable price (considering I do not work on bikes, especially e-bikes!). Would go back in a heartbeat! read more

The service, bikes, and experience was fantastic. Our family of five did an excursion ride and it was wonderful. We and our kids won't forget it. read more

Excellent work. Quickly diagnosed the problem and made all repairs needed to restore normal and expected operation. Very fair price as well, they're now my go to shop for all things service on my bike. read more

Brian is legit! Came in for a tune up and new chain. Brian was honest and told me I didn't need A 100% tuneup so he saved me a little Which who doesn't love to save little money?! I think he went above and beyond what most bike shops would for the money. I will definitely take the trip to Forestville from Santa Rosa for now on for my bike repairs! Thank you Brian! read more

I love this place. It is great to have a knowledgeable bike mechanic in your own back yard. And the prices are very reasonable. I never hesitate to take one of my bikes in for a repair or service. read more

Very friendly and honest. Definitely a great asset to have in Russian River. Went for a tune up and they were able to get my bike all nice and healthy again. read more

My group was so happy with our experience with Russian River Cycle Service. We had 6 adults and 2 babies and they were so fast and helpful fitting us with our bikes and baby trailer. Especially appreciated the time they took to acclimate us with the area including giving us recos on where to stop along the way for lunch and wine tasting. They are in a fantastic location along a nicely paved bike route with beautiful views of the vineyards and neighborhoods. Highly recommend! read more

What a great experience! We heard about the West County Regional Trail, that extends from Forestville to Santa Rosa. We found Russian River Cycle Services on Yelp and rang them up. They set us up for bikes the next day. When we arrived, our bikes and helmets were waiting and we were given a map and directions. The day was amazing. So much beauty. We rode to Sebastopol and back without any trouble. We will definitely be back to Russian River Cycle Services. read more

Brian at RR cycle service is an awesome person to get new or used bike from, and to service your bike. He's super knowledgeable, detailed, transparent, and responsive. He has serviced (and improved) several of our bikes and they run better then new. Highly recommended! read more

Friendly, knowledgeable, & reasonably priced. What else can you ask for. Went there for a tire change which they were able to complete the same day. read more

This is the perfect example of a business everyone should support - a small, family run business that truly does customer service right, with a homely friendliness and warmth that puts you right at ease. Brian and his wife were amazingly helpful yesterday in helping me and my wife and my 3 yr old at ease. Our bikes and carrier were all ready to go when we got there, and we were provided great info on how to get around. We even had time to really chat with them! All in all, loved it. Thank you! read more

So happy I was able to rent again even under COVID. Good bike, good drop and pickup from the place we stay next town over, and fair pricing. I rent for a couple of weeks every summer--and it's always a good experience--love getting up and going for a ride as the fog burns off. read more

I took my 40 year-old Schwinn 12 speed in for a tuneup and, not only was it ready that day, but it rode beautifully. Thank you!

Very friendly and helpful service. I rented a bike for my wife so that we could go on a ride together, but they also did a minor repair on my bike for free. Plus it's located right near the West County Regional Trail, so you can go right from the store to a lovely bike trail. read more

Had a flat one mile into my ride. Got lucky and found this shop a few miles later. They let me come in, use their floor pump and gave me some solid tips on my route. Amazing people. Great little spot! read more

Wow, what can I even say! I took a new bike I bought of Craigslist to Brian to give it a once over and help me with the fit. Brian did an amazing job with both. The extra bonus were the many pieces of biking wisdom he threw in on top--helping my with my clipless system, adjusting my form, and suggesting rides. Brian's passion paired with his skill and knowledge is a winning combo. Thanks, Russian River Cycle! We'll be back. read more

I was lost, cycling in a new area because I simply had to get out of Dodge, and Brian was kind enough to take time out of his day to give me directions and advise me on a much safer route than I had planned. I ended going up Harrison Grade and back to Graton, and gorgeous ride, and very safe in traffic. His shop was beautifully arranged, sparking clean, hand sanitizer at the ready. I recommend him to anyway in the area! read more

I hate leaving one or 2 star reviews, but I found this place through fellow yelpers and want potential customers to know that this business is sadly unreliable -- from the initial reservation, to dropping off the bike, to giving directions, to charging you for the bike. First, this business was completely unreachable. I must have tried calling their number about 20 times over a 2-day period at various hours and no answer despite the 7 days/week 7am to 7pm stated hours. I left messages too (voicemail and through yelp). It wasn't until 4:45 PM the second day of calling that they finally called me back. At that time, the told me they were out of bikes until the next morning. Nevertheless, I thought I would try to fit it in a very short ride very early the next morning before my family left (lemons into lemonade, right?). Sort of. I stressed that I had until 8:20 the next morning to bike and was staying on a house on top of a very steep hill. No problem, said the owner, be there 7am the next morning. The next morning, I was again left waiting. By 7:15am, no one showed up. I finally got a hold of the company, and she said she had tried to call me, but was unable to get up the hill. I had no missed calls!!! When I asked her what number she called, she gave me some totally different number. I explained that was not my number - she tried to claim I had given her a second number, then eventually just said "whups". Again, really disappointing. Nevertheless, having woken up at 6:30 am to bike, I was determined to make the trip. After driving to town to meet her, I had only 40 minutes left. She told me a non-traffic path was only a "few minutes away," which turned out to be completely not true. I ended up spending most of the trip on a traffic paved road (still pretty though, hard to really go wrong in this setting!). After all that, I was charged $20 (i.e. no real discount of any kind) for a ride that lasted 40 minutes. Before coming to Sonoma, I had hoped that biking through the region would be one of the highlights of my trip. Unfortunately, due to this company, it just didn't happen as planned. read more

Awesome, awesome!! I wish we had River Riders in Philly! Called to see if there were any bikes available at 2:30pm Thursday afternoon, I was riding a bike by 3pm. 4 hours is usually $25, she only charged me $20 till close at 7. Quick, convenient, friendly. Come to philly! read more

This is the place to get bike rentals if you're near the Russian river! Jennifer is very nice, accommodating and reasonable. We had some schedule changes come up but she accommodated them with smiley faces. The bikes are great. Really comfortable high end Marin touring bikes. They were sleek gray, well maintained and without gaudy advertising that makes you look like a tourist in town, though everyone will still know. The bike seats are really comfortable. She delivered and picked the bikes up from where we were saying in Forestville! She also has vouchers for wine tastings and knows the small spots you should check out on the bikes. Highly recommend! read more

Brian was very helpful and even got my mom to ride a bike! The forestville trail was beautiful and offered a unique view of the vineyards. He had all the supplies and was timely and kind. read more

Don't let that 2 star rant scare you away from this business. This is the highest customer service I have ever come across in the biking industry. Truely top notch in personal guest satisfaction. I do business all the time with them and never once came across anything that was mentioned in the poor review. If it truely was the case......I would say it is a total fluke! read more

Brian is knowledgeable, friendly and skilled in his approach to cycle repairs. He discovered the issue that was ruining my Cannondale Synapse Ultegra shifting ....an incorrect cable installation by another well-respected West County repair shop that crossed the shifter cables in the frame tube, causing them to crimp. This required some intuition as well as experience. I wouldn't take a good road cycle anywhere else. John C read more

These guys are great! We rented a bike for the weekend to get around Monte Rio and Guernville and it was such a great way to explore! RRSC set us up and the owner found a nut that worked on my Yakima rack and lent me a wrench that I needed to lock the bike on my rack and figured out a way for us to return the bike after hours (and not get charged for an extra day!) they also gave us a map showing bike trails and quiet roads to get around on...really sweet friendly folks and great service! read more

Jennifer and river riders is amazing! Four of us wanted bikes for a couple days, and she was so accommodating and kind. She brought them to us, came out to change a flat tire on a whim, gave us so much information, is always available, and was so helpful, informative, thorough and hard working. Her rates are SO affordable and the service is 5 star. Biking is the best way to get around the river valley. Call Jennifer! read more

Excellent equipment, prices and service. The owner was polite, efficient and extremely helpful. She provided great advice of the local town and trails. She also assisted us with plans for additional activities throughout the week. We can't say enough about this company! She even delivers the bike to you! Unbelievably wonderful owner and company. Give her a try, you won't be sorry. Frank and Susy! read more

I rented bikes from Jennifer, the owner of River Rider Rentals just last weekend. She offered a great price, delivery to the vineyard of my choice. She recommended where to start my biking and wine tasting journey. She gave great tips on safety, rules for biking and drinking and mapping out the bike path. She also offered to collect the bikes from any location as long as we locked them up and gave her notice. This was the perfect option for biking through the vineyards. She was friendly, punctual and i will definitely recommend her to all of my friends and family. Please rent from River Rider Rentals, this will be an adventure you'll never forget. I recommend you call at least a week in advance to make sure the bikes are not all rented out. read more

I spent the 4th of July in Monte Rio with some friends and we decided to rent three bikes. They were DELIVERED to our house and were in excellent condition. The owner personally delivered the bikes and shared tips on where to go for wine tasting (including discounts). The helmets were included in the price and they too were in great condition. If you are headed up to Russian River, this is the place to rent bikes! read more

My friends and I used River Riders for an afternoon of bike-powered wine touring - or wine-powered biking, depending on whom you ask - this past Labor Day weekend. Jennifer was *exceptionally* accommodating and competent. Everything went smoothly and the bikes themselves were well-maintained and a joy to ride. One member of our party mistakenly took a bike lock with him when we left, and Jennifer offered to pick it up on our front porch (several miles away) without complaints or additional charges. I would highly recommend River Riders to anyone looking for bike rentals in the Russian River area. read more

I brought my bike up to Guernville to do some wine tasting and accidentally left my helmet at home. River Riders was a lifesaver -- they cheerfully brought a helmet to my hotel (for free!) and let me use it for the whole weekend. Super kind, thoughtful, helpful business -- next time I'll leave my bike at home and rent theirs instead! read more

I came to Guernerville for Memorial Day weekend. Didn't plan on renting a bike until almost 4pm in Sunday. Called River Riders, they were completely out of bikes at that moment. and were busying collecting returned bikes. They are so nice that they offered to deliver a just collected bike to me within 30 minutes. I had a short but good bike ride to Armstrong Redwood and it's all because of the great service of River Riders. Really appreciate it! read more
