This food truck is definitely a popular one. I've tried to order food from them before, but either the line was an insane wait, or they were out of what I wanted. Finally they were parked in Eagle River outside of revive market on an afternoon. I knew it was my chance to beat the rush & I was right! They had all their options available. I ordered spicy beef piroshki, spicy chicken piroshki, beef piroshki & pelmeni. The piroshki were delicious! Served hot, and were a good sized portion. The pelmeni were also very tasty, but I wish they had better hot sauce options & didn't charge extra for sour cream. Overall the food is very good though a bit on the pricey side. It's cool to have a food truck in town that offers something different. It's definitely a popular truck so sometimes the lines are very long, and they do frequently sell out of items. A good place to try them is the Spenard food truck carnival on Thursday afternoons in the Koots parking lot. This is Russian comfort food at its finest! read more

Absolutely delicious. Russian Eats is a hidden gem that delivers big on flavor and comfort. Everything we tried was homemade and hearty. The staff is friendly, patient, and happy to explain the menu if you're unfamiliar with Russian cuisine. You never feel rushed, just welcomed. Ambience-wise, it's cozy, clean, and unpretentious. Yummy easy to eat spicy meat pocket!! I happened upon this "truck" at the Palmer fairgrounds. My wife said,"oh, this is my friends favorite food truck " I passed on the hotdogs, the sugary sweets, the barbecue etc. I am so glad I patronized this place. I had a bite of my Mom's piroshki. From the photo on the menu, I thought it was going to be a small, bite-sized sort of thing. Like a nugget. It was more like a burrito! We caught up with this truck in Eagle River at the VFW. We haven't seen it since. Basically, some items were terrific and some didn't cut it. Sorry, but the dumplings (Beef Pelmeni) were too dry. Maybe a sauce for dipping would help? Yes, not tradition. The beef Piroshki was huge and tasted great. Mrs. E. loved the borscht. Even though it was served warm like a soup (we grew up eating cold borscht), we threw a dollop of sour cream on top and dug in. It's a bit pricey but definitely in-line with the authentic meal you're getting and the rarity of these dishes. They boast all hand made items with top quality meats and local vegetables. This food truck only pops up every so often, so DO NOT miss a chance to try their offerings if you see them at an event. Their pel'meni are really excellent. But what really stands out for me are their beef peroshki. The filling is scrumptious and the fried breading is so light and fluffy- it's really devine and would be quite difficult to replicate at home. read more
