Spicy beef piroshki

The food is sooo good, whenever I see Russian eats around I get a few! Highly recommend the spicy beef piroshki.

I had this cart at the Spenard Foodtruck Carnival: https://www.yelp.com/biz/spenard-food-truck-carnival-anchorage-2 I was shocked to see that they weren't even on Yelp! I had a bite of my Mom's piroshki. From the photo on the menu, I thought it was going to be a small, bite-sized sort of thing. Like a nugget. It was more like a burrito! It was a piping hot meatpie/hotbun. It was savory and delicious. It's the perfect food for a rainy Alaska summer day! I hope to order my very own piroshki next time I see them!

At the 3 Barons Fair today!

I'm so glad to start off 2025 with a great recommendation. The bagel of choosing was the 'Pick Me', a steamed everything bagel topped with bacon, ham, sausage, egg, and pepper jack. I decided to add some pepper jelly on the side and it was delicious ‍. From the first bite of the soft bagel, all of the flavors complemented the next one. I recently found out about this gem from an ADN article. I can't wait to try the other bagel options!

We found them at APU on April 20th for a craft fair. They steam their own bagels and have a variety of flavors including plain, everything, onion, sesame, GF, and a sweet rotating option usually blueberry. I got the Barefoot breakfast bagel, overall it was pretty good. Very very messy since the cream cheese was warm and melted everywhere. The bagel was chewy and I was able to get an everything instead of the onion bagel it came with. You can pretty much choose which bagel you want with what sandwich. I picked off the onion even though there wasn't that much, and the tomato slice I got still had the sticker on it, which was bad quality control on their part . The banana pepper added a sweet yet tangy taste, not much cheddar on it, more peppers and banana peppers. It was very good, but again messy. We also got tots which honestly seemed like they were not frozen they were soft yet crunchy. A little spendy at almost $15 each give or take a few bucks. They are not huge bagels but stuffed with a lot of fillings.

(most of it up here is more Texas-inspired) I was delighted to find another BBQ place on Yelp, more so a Southern on, even MORE so one with ZERO reviews! I called them up and ordered ahead of time. I got the ribs, which were under $20, a rarity for BBQ! This place occupies the space formerly occupied by Alleyway Grille (that delicious, late-night, stoner haute-cuisine extravaganza) You order and pickup food from the drive through. I called in ahead and they asked me if I wanted to pickup in "5 or 10 minutes?". I chose 5! Service was friendly and I took my food home to eat. The ribs were very good and served on a piece of white bread (BBQ bread ain't fancy, yo!). The sides were much better than some of the more recent BBQ pop-ups post-COVID. It was a perfect lunch-sized portion of everything. I'll definitely be giving them another try (brisket on Sundays only). Great food, I just wish they would add collard greens. So rare to find those up here!

We went with the Alaskan reindeer dog with all the fixings and the Hawaiian reindeer dogs with all of their fixings. Plus side of onion rings and garlic French fries. And lastly a delicious side of chili. Overall I have to saw WOW! The reindeer hotdog/sausage has a nice smoky flavor to it. Had a great casing to it and is very easy to eat. I enjoyed the slight heat on the Alaskan. Now I never had pineapple, chili, bacon and ham on a hot dog, and I'm glad I did! It was really an amazing treat I never had anywhere else. If you have been to New Orleans this place sort of reminds me Dat Dog. Which is also amazing. If you are here in the area as a tourist or a local you definitely need to check out the international house of hotdogs. Well worth the trip! Highly recommended!

I discovered that they have chicken sausages, so I decided to stop by. My daughter and I were welcomed as soon as we walked up and the guy let me know they have vegan dogs also. My daughter had a corn dog, which is chicken also. All the ingredients were not available for the chicken dog and I opted out of the bacon but still delicious. I forgot to mention they had a nice music selection and great outdoor seating! I will definitely be back, my daughter is convinced she will have her birthday party here. lol

Ordering was easy, and they even ask for your number so they can text you when the order is ready! Food was ready fairly quickly. Everything was really tasty! I enjoyed the pulled pork Sammy and loved the pineapple slaw for a bit of sweet. The carne asada fries were also good, but I wish they were more loaded. Pretty sparse order than what I'm used to getting at other restaurants. The bread that the tuna sandwich came on was so good, and the tuna salad had a great wasabi kick.
