First of two wineries we visited recently while in this area near the NC/SC line. Friendly staff, we were served by the assistant winemaker - he was able to tell us about the history of the vineyard (established back in the late 90's) as well as the more recent russian owner and influence. The Russian Chapel in the center of the vineyard was beautiful, shipped over from Russia and reassembled in the vineyard. Wish was could have hiked out to it but we had limited time. I was impressed with each of their wines, white, red and only muscadine. Feeling was remote, mountain vineyard, relaxing (outside deck), shady overlook of the vineyard and chapel.

We were able to drive out the Chappell

The wines were very good and the very is beautiful with the Chappell beyond the grape vines!!!

Was advertised as open on the website. We got there and it was closed. Don't think we will try again.

Ask the Community - Russian Chapel Hills Winery

Are all the wines made with muscadines?

No, only one was using the Muscatine grape from what I remember.

We had a wonderful visit. Small winery with a lovely view. They have outdoor and indoor seating,…read moreoffering table service - which I don't often see at wineries. We started outside and all chose the "Tubular Wine Tasting" which offered 6 options - this time, it was 3 red and 3 white. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the decor gave an antique vibe. There was a food truck offering an interesting selection of tacos, sopas, empanadas, etc. They also had a special for St Patrick's Day of a green sangria/mimosa and gold dusted popcorn combo. I enjoyed the variety of wine options in the tasting and trying new things that I wouldn't normally order on my own. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and they even allowed us to bring in our own snacks. They have options to build your own charcuterie boards as well.

They also have items for sale to make your own charcuterie board on-site. There was a taco food truck there when we went, but I'm not sure how often a food truck is on-site. The staff were all very polite, friendly and great at answering all of our questions. Overall this is a great relaxed hang out spot to go with family/friends, a girls afternoon, date or just a chill afternoon. I would definitely go back next time I am in town.
