Truly a hidden gem! We stumbled upon this vineyard while visiting Asheville and we fell in love. OMV is a family owned/run boutique vineyard in the hills of Southwest NC. They create delicious and unique wines that are suitable for every palate. We did a tasting for about $20 a person and each wine was somehow better and better as we went down the list. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful with superb landscape and lots of bird watching. They have really created an oasis that people need to know about, but at the same time I kind of want to keep the secret to myself because that's how good it is. Can't wait to go back! *bring your own food for a picnic, they occasionally have a food truck but not guaranteed

Absolutely love this vineyard in the mountains of Tryon, NC. Just 53 miles from Asheville, Overmountain vineyard offers a peaceful getaway experience in their luxury villas that are located on their vineyards and tasting room. The wines are excellent. They can definitely compete with the best of Napa and Sonoma valley. The owners are super friendly and attentive and offered numerous suggestions of other places, attractions and vineyards in the area to visit.

A lovely winery to see and enjoy delicious wine

Beautiful ambiance, plentiful bird sounds and thriving vineyard with tasting room and staff to pour your samples and describe the white and red wines on the tasting list. Hailie was unrushed, spoke about each bottle she poured and her wine knowledge was exceptional. Her training and experiences in Napa is a bonus. A small bowl of fresh blueberries grown here was perfect food for a hot day. Petite Verdot and petite manseng were our favorites.

Friendly family team, nice crisp wines. Lots of care clearly goes into this family run business.

One of my favorite wineries, not only for the wine, but it's an 18 year old plus age restricted winery. This makes it the most adult friendly, peaceful winery in the area. I recommend going to their website and making a reservation. Our experience has always been warm and welcoming. Once up the drive, you park and one of their huge Great Danes will greet you and lead the way! Be careful and drive slowly because there are two dogs on the property. During winter, they have roll down clear barriers so you can sit outside and not get the cold wind. There are also space heaters to warm you up. I love all of their wines and typically do a flight and then a glass or two. We also take a couple of bottles home because it's that good!

What a delightful stop on the way to Asheville! Not only delicious wine but a welcoming owners. I am amazed about how much work was put into the winery. I also met Max! We did tasting as well as picked up a bottle of Pinot Grigio. It was a season of blueberries- bought a full basket as well! Definitely, I will be back!

BY FAR, this is the best quality wine you'll find anywhere in NC, and the wines easily compare/beat any Napa Valley wines. This is a family owned, boutique winery. All grapes are grown onsite. The views are lovely, the customer service is excellent, and again... the wine is spectacular! Note to parents: no kiddos allowed, but furry 4-legged kids are welcomed.

What a great experience wine tasting at Overmountain Vineyards! The wines were unique and delicious. Our hostess was very engaging and spent the time describing each of the wines. The view and ambiance were absolutely gorgeous. I loved that they had three big wine tasting areas outside that were covered. All the tables were very spaced out for social distancing. They do offer packages of cheese, meat and crackers to purchase. They are definitely dog friendly! All the other wine tasters brought their dogs and they have two great Danes roaming around. PS. They love eating the cheese and crackers.

Even though it's deep into fall and cool outside side this winery has a delightful, warm, and cozy atmosphere. We had the Cabernet and Petit Verdot and both were delicious! Gentle classical music played softly in the background and our host, Courtney, was informative and helpful. Highly recommend!

Headed to Hendersonville for a wine weekend with the girls and although this vineyard was not on our list we saw it and stopped. There was no one there but it was early. They prefer recommendations for your safety due to the heat to ensure that they can seat you in the shade. Atmosphere- hosts were friendly and the location was colorful and cozy as well as beautiful landscapes. They had music playing but they never have live music. It wasn't needed. The wine was really good. We each purchased bottles. You can also buy or pick and buy fresh super sweet blueberries. There alerts two huge dogs that made me uncomfortable but to each his own. I hear they are gentle giants. There is apparently a local creamy nearby where you should stop and buy a charcuterie box with fresh local cheeses and meats. We plan to go back.

What can I say about this family owned winery. We've been coming here for about 10 years now. It's our family's fave winery to visit in this area. We've watched it grow from a small and quaint tasting to room to this beautiful patio surrounded by plants and shrubs and trees. The owners Frank, Lita, and their daughter Sofia are amazing people. Very friendly and laid back atmosphere. They're very welcoming together with their Great Danes. They produce French style wines from grapes they grow on property. I am not an expert in wine but I've enjoyed their offerings. I like the petite manseng the best. Their red table wine is an easy and great drinking wine to have with dinner. The rosé is not sweet just the way I like it. They used to make this awesome blueberry wine not sure if they still do or not. If you like port wine, you'll need to buy a bottle or two if they have them in stock. They go very fast. They have a cottage on property that you can rent if you want to get away from the city. They also have blueberries that you can pick as well as fresh eggs you can purchase. Overmountain is a must stop if you are in the Tryon/Landrum area. You don't want to miss out on the views, great wines, and a relaxing afternoon.

Had a blast and weather was perfect. Looking forward to coming back. Service is when you need it and not smothering, goid price points, and just really great views. Personal fave but not limited to: EPIC PETIT MANSENG

The wine that is produced here is horrible and way overpriced. Give this place a pass and try Mountain Brook Vineyards instead.

We technically arrived 10 minutes before they opened and just soaked up the views. Finally we meandered inside. Point Lookout Vineyards is the winery, but Top of the World is the meadery. John selected 5 wines & 1 mead for a flight & i went 5 meads with one wine as my flight. We grabbed a glass of water & picked out our seat. We also spring for a 10 inch pepperoni pizza since it was lunch time. 1st- skip the pizza. IMO it didn't match the caliber of the experience in its entirety. Too much like a tostinos frozen pizza. The wine and meads were stellar. I started with Sweet Carolina Girl, a mid- sweet blended red that was bold in flavor, with that rich fruit. Very luscious. Next up, the Orange Blossom Mead, exactly as expected. Velvety mouth feel, bright flavor. The Beguile was next, a raspberry mead- at first sip, I was hesitant to like it. I went around the tasting and came back and liked it much more after the second sip. The Masala surprised me, a Chai tea mead, I'm not usually a fan of Chai tea but I was intrigued by the description. The clove and ginger with the cardamom was delightful. Mimi's Apple Pie was also very yummy, I honestly stay away from most "apple pie" flavors, because it usually never does it justice. This was an exception. Finishing this mead in bourbon barrels sealed the deal. Last & not at all the least was Sting, the classic orange blossom mead fermented with juniper berries, finished in a gin barrel. Startling on the palette. A very unique flavor profile for mead & I loved it! Overall, I absolutely loved my experience! We bought 3 bottles! Sting Mead, the Masala Chai Tea Mead & the Sweet Carolina Girl wine.
