Before entering the museum area Anna gave an introductory talk describing what to expect. She made it interactive which was very nice. They also did a song to get their wiggles out. She then guided the group through the museum to the carpeted area with cushions for the kiddos. Ana talked about and asked questions about the art on the walls. She read Under the Same Sky to the children and made this an interactive experience also. It was just the right length of time, thirty minutes. This was just right for our 18 month old grandson.

She uses mainly Acrylic Paint and a knife to paint and has a gift for perspective, color, and balance. I was especially impressed by her subtle use of blue in a small painting of birches, which really pops out at you almost like 3D. I know too how difficult painting water can be and she tackled that nicely in a recent boat painting. Again I was both surprised and pleased by her use of color here. I am getting ready to publish a new book of poetry and hoping that I will be able to talk Lisa into doing some painting that will capture the mood of my work! Keep your eye on this young lady! Things started off great. The clerk was friendly and walked me through how to use the bike. We left…read moreand I soon noticed a noise but I hadn't ridden an ebike before so I didn't know what was normal. It turned out the rear brake was out of adjustment. However, I didn't figure that out until later. We set out and all was well. In Berkeley I got a flat tire. We called the emergency number. They said we can't rescue you from there, it's too far. They do rescue from Sausalito which is roughly 11 miles from SF, and Berkeley is roughly 13 miles from SF so that doesn't make sense. They said, go to a repair shop (my husband is basically a mechanic and we had a pump but the tire wouldn't take air because it needed a new tube.) The guy on the phone also suggested going to a gas station, even though we explained the tire wouldn't take air. By the way, they don't give you tools or anything. And-in case you don't know, replacing a rear tube/tire on an ebike is way more complicated and involved than a traditional bike because there is a drive train and wiring, etc. He said they would reimburse the cost up to $30. We were so lucky that we were in Berkeley, about a mile from REI which has a bike repair shop. I don't know what we or anyone would do if you were no where near a repair shop. REI replaced the tube and it cost $56. We continued on our way, and eventually returned to Bay City. They would not budge on the reimbursement and insisted on taking our REI receipt-not sure why, they weren't going to help us. If you aren't going to support your customers, you can't rent out bikes which do require constant maintenance and repair. The going rate to replace a rear tube on an ebike is $56. Reimbursing half of it is unacceptable. I would never go back here, and I cannot recommend it in good conscience.

I can definitely see how people will miss this information...if they aren't paying attention (not the employee's fault)! The employees were very patient and personable, and answered any questions we had. They gave us great tips such as the best scenic routes, easy directions, and even showed us how to properly use the bike locks. The front pouch on the bike was big enough to perfectly store a small crossbody/purse and a water bottle. I definitely recommend touring the Fisherman's Wharf, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge, and everything in between- on a bike. We had SO much fun, and we were able to tour the area at our own pace. The little map on the bike was very useful!

However, when I got to the rental shop, I was charged an extra $45 per e-bike, even though I booked the Groupon while chatting with one of the employees who said the Groupon would cover e-bikes. Employee tried to help us by giving directions to Lombard street and he told us we wouldn't have to struggle with the hills because of the e-bikes. Ended up walking the bikes uphill 2 blocks because of his directions. He also said his route would have bike lanes but there were none and we had to bike on the street or the small sidewalks BIGGEST THING: He never explained how to turn the bike light on, I thought it would be a simple click but the e-bikes had different light operation. One of our bikes didn't even have a light. It was so dangerous for us and we had to bike in the dark. I don't understand how you could give bikes out like that and not even check to see if there is a light, not to mention if it's operable or not. TLDR: No bike light, up charge, poor directions

The equipment is ideal for the area, with plenty off choices for more intense rides. The options for "trails" are urban for the local area, and north and south for the Wineries. We had a package deal that has a guide for the first day and on our own for the second day. Our guide, Taylor, was way cool. A local farmer/roadie/ San Fran local, with keen intel on the farming/bio-dynmic/ foodie/ family history. He clearly has a great history and relationship with the folks we stopped at and every bit was personable and flexible. He had an excellent read on the strength and weakness of the group. Overall, we did a gentle 20 miles on cushie bikes and drank a touch more wine then is good for willfully concurring the hills. We had a group of 6 and took a north loop that peaked at Quivira with the most spectacular bio-dynamic gardens. I mean bees, pigs, chickens and just the coolest raised beds I have ever seen. Seriously, I could happily retire and intern here. Our second day, was on our own on the southern route, me thinks just about 23 miles. My Aunt made it to Porter Creek (not on purpose) but I peaked at Thomas George Estate. We followed recommendations and lunched at Arista. Worthy!!! This is another heaven on Earth spot. It is not over rated. My only small complaint, on the second day (far beyond the control of the good folks at Wine County Bikes was the aggressive construction truck drivers. Mind you...there is a consistent "you're going to get hurt bad if you come off the road" with no clear bike lane. With that said the greater majority of cars, albeit fast, are very good about dealing with "tourist bike riders". Highly recommended!!!!!!
