I swear something about South Carolina all the owners of places are so nice. Chocolate was amazing and whatever my son got he gobbled on down (I think it was an alligator). Suddenly he was in his glory and grabbing all the chocolates once he saw what kind of store it was. (Besides a few clothes stores 99% of our stops involve chocolate, ice cream or toys but you wouldn't know that by my son lol) super nice owner as we apologized for our one minute noooooooo to wow. I think he got a chocolate race car? Whatever it was he couldn't eat it fast enough the next day as he remembered hey where's my chocolate? :P I still have my chocolate from here sitting on my desk just waiting to be eaten by me. What I did eat so far, delicious. Cute shop too. Also gave us samples which held my son over since it was close to dinner time :P

My other personal favs are the homemade barks (all sorts), chocolate covered orange peel, ginger and Twizzlers (try it, you'll be hooked). The store has always been one of our favorites…read more Our friends bought us a gift for hosting their engagement party, but it didn't work with our design and they told us that the cashier had told them that we could exchange it if we wanted. We went to exchange it and bought new dishes for our grown children. The cashier whispered to the other cashier with her back turned to us not to wrap it because it was a return. she had just told the person in front of us they did complementary wrapping for everything. The worst part about it is, she whispered it behind our backs, we knew exactly what she said because the cashier started to try and wrap the presents. Needless to say, we won't return. I don't ever like someone to talk behind my back, especially not to whisper. If it's company policy, she should've just told us. I feel there must be new owners because there used to be two nice gentlemen that owned the place who Focused on customer service.

It was a sign from God as I love two things in the South when it comes to sweet's Pralines and Turtles. This place I hit the jackpot as they have both. Once I enter the door I spot the pralines on the shelf and I get two bags. Than a 1lb box of turtles milk chocolate with pecans for me and hubby. Also a half 1lb to give as a present. I truthfully would have bought out the shop if my luggage didn't have a weight limit. The smell is heavenly in this store and even got a sample of pumpkin fudge tasted just like pumpkin pie. The sales associate was attentive and friendly even asked the names of my cats as I told her this was presents for my friend watching my cats.

"Marine colors, chocolate interior, platoon number, etc." We drove almost an hour to pick this up. If it weren't for the editable paper insignia, one would guess it was for a baby shower with the colors used. To make matters worse, the lid smashed into the top layer while we were driving back. I should have NOT bought it but felt weird since we went to the guy's house to pick it up. His store front had closed. We ended up leaving it at the Airbnb and not presenting it to our marine because it looked so bad. I'm sure it tasted good, but lacked in presentation. I was really disappointed. Russ did offer to come by and fix the top but by the time we connected we were no longer at the house and the cake was in the trash.

Hard to describe what happened, but I'll try. First off, Kilwins historically has been solid over…read morethe 9 years of coming to HHI. I want to give them that. But last night, on July 10, 2026, they were not. It was somewhat of an awkward, tourist trap like experience for me. I'm not sure I'm coming back at least for a few years. I won't belabor the points, but I feel robbed... - slow, disengaged workers (there for over an hour) - workers listening to AirPods - closed up early, walking around w drinks and closing blinds. - no waffle cones on a Friday night at prime time. I asked. They were not willing to make them either. - the scoops were so small, really small. Putting a value of it, I estimated for the amount and size I was paying about $35-$40 per pint. That is just too much. - the was a pregnant lady in the waffle area. I'm gonna give Kilwins the benefit of the doubt and say they were doing a kind gesture to a person in need. But it was an awkward atmosphere, very awkward, so I do wonder a bit at least. I love Kilwins. Hope they get their act together. But be aware. It might not be the Kilwins you knew on a previous visit.
