While appropriate medical steps were taken, I experienced communication from PA James Brinkman, PA-C that felt condescending and not trauma-informed during an already very painful situation. A comment made during the procedure left me feeling upset and in tears due to the level of pain I was experiencing and the tone used. I believe patient communication and bedside manner are an important part of care, especially in acute pain situations. Based on this experience, I will consider seeking care at other facilities in the future.

Upon arrival, you all recognized IMMEDIATELY that she needed care and started right away with it. She was admitted and you cared for her the next four days. Super busy day, and I could tell based off the parking lot alone. I walked in with my mother, who is visibly not well, and the receptionist working was absolutely terrible. Horrible attitude. Just uncaring, not polite whatsoever. Very blunt and rude with her questions, had a scowl on her face, and looked irritated as my mom is giving her information. I, mistakenly, mentioned "I'm not sure if you know, but there's a wet puddle on the floor". Mid sentence she rudely cut me off, "I know. Someone's coming. We see it". I said, "ok, sorry to bother you at work". Walked away. Triage nurses? 10 gold stars. I acknowledged their stresses, and they were absolute angels. Once we were able to get a room, we waited. Understandable given how busy they were. When the ER doctor came in he was TREMENDOUS. While I'm sure he was over the day he maintained great bedside manner, looked us in the eye, patient, and super caring. 10 stars for him. The CNA that came in before him was also super nice, and patient. The RN? lol RUDE. Seemed annoyed my mom was asking questions, and just flat out annoyed with people breathing it felt. Between the receptionist and the RN, the tension and annoyance was so palpable I felt uncomfortable being someplace where people are supposed to be professional. Again, I get being stressed out and with Dr Google, I totally get the frustration.. human moments are forgivable, but this? Never again. The ONLY reason I gave this 2 stars was for triage, the CNA, and the ER Dr. They were actually really nice given the circumstances. I typically don't do reviews often, but this was enough for me say something. I plan on calling the feedback line as well. Parking lot on snow days is plowed. Cafeteria staff are very helpful and will make your choice of meal to your satisfaction. During my visit, I briefly parked so I could address my health needs, and my dog let out a single bark--nothing aggressive, just part of her alerting behavior. Nicole, the woman at the front desk, immediately told me, "Service dogs don't bark," and insisted I leave. This is not only incorrect, but also disrespectful and dismissive. Service dogs can bark if it's part of their trained response to a medical issue. Nicole's attitude made me feel unwelcome, judged, and humiliated--in a place where I expected care and support. Her tone was cold, and there was zero understanding or effort to accommodate someone with a disability. I left feeling worse than when I arrived. Terry Reilly should train its staff in ADA compliance and disability sensitivity. We deserve better.

Not only did I have an hour wait for my appointment, had my sliding scale application misplaced, and was lied to by several members about cost and pricing, I also received a $120 bill when I was told no income would be $10 for a simple diagnosis and paying out of pocket for the medication. Horrible service, horrible follow-up, and I even checked in with my old doctor in CA who prescribed me a better medicine than the FMHC doctor prescribed. They treat you like liars and want tons of evidence you make no income and if you don't comply you are whacked with a large bill. Shameful!

So, it was nice to have a 5 minute drive to my appointment since this office is down the road from me. The receptionist here is so nice! The downtown location should take a couple lessons from the Eagle location. The receptionist smiled at me. She was kind asking me my general check in questions. She had personality. These basic skills are lacked in 90% of the people who work in registration downtown. If I can have all my appointments here, I would. I hung out in the waiting area till it was my turn. Zach, the imaging tech called me back to the scanning room. He went through the process of the scan with me and guided on how my properly lay on the scan machine. He had me position my legs differently for a couple scans. And before I knew it, I was done. It was quite an easy process which was nice. My other appointments require getting poked at. The Eagle office is night and day compared to Downtown. They are so nice here. It's a smaller facility with an Urgent Care unit which is nice for non emergency visits. It bums me out that I have to deal with the rude receptionists and security check in staff when I'm Downtown. But it was nice to see how the other half are treated at this location. I will have to get more appointments fulfilled here. I leave happy which is nice.

I had exceptional care here during my heart loop monitor procedure. (Also known as an ILR). I had the newer (bigger & longer) Abbott version inserted... so not only did I have my heart Dr & dedicated nurse the whole time, there was also 2 Abbott Lab medical reps & even an additional medical staff member during most of the procedure. They handled my ridiculous level of allergies & autoimmune challenges fabulously & because of the perfection of all involved- I healed quickly & fully... flying out on a family trip just a week later. Now my insur is fighting on paying the bill, but that's the jerk insur co, not this fab hospital. I'd absolutely go here again if needed!
