When they came to give us an estimate, Andres crawled up in our crawl space to really get a good feel for what our insulation looked like and to see how the roof looked like from the underside. They made suggestions to us for things that should be done even if they weren't the contractor that did them. After interviewing other roofers, we decided to give Innovators our business. They added some insulation in a few places that didn't have it for a very reasonable price and did a top notch job with the air flow. Now, in the heat of the summer, the house is at least a 10 degree difference from the same heat last year. It is amazing! The roof looks beautiful! They came back to fix one little part immediately and we could not be happier! So, we have hired them for 2 other projects and been completely pleased with their work. Nelson is super easy to work with on the business side and Andres is a total perfectionist when it comes to his work. They installed a period dining room window for us and it looks stunning thanks to Andres careful attention to detail. They enjoy doing good work! We have them lined up for a couple more projects now. I almost don't want to leave such a good review because I don't want them to get any busier! We feel like they are family now though so we won't go anywhere else!

If I could sum up my experience (a complete siding job with James Hardie fiber cement siding) with…read moreA Cut Above Exteriors (ACAE) in one word it would be professional. This is an example of what dealing with any contractor should be. After much research I had decided to install the Hardie siding. I wanted to use a contractor who was familiar with the product and installed to James Hardie criteria and specifications. I went to James Hardie's website and searched for contractors that are designated as Elite Preferred. ACAE popped up and had impeccable reviews. Starting with the sales person, Joe, he thoroughly explained what they would do for me. He was knowledgeable and personable. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. The bid was higher than the others but after researching (ACAE) and speaking with Joe, I was convinced they were the company for me. In this case, you really get what you pay for. I was introduced to Josh, the Project Manager. Once again, very knowledgeable and personable. Very easy to work with and communicated with me on a daily basis. When problems cropped up, he was always there to offer suggestions on how to proceed. His crew, led by Nikolay with Rosty and Eugene, did amazing work. The workmanship is impeccable; the crew was very organized and professional. They always made the worksite safe and clean; leaving everything spotless when they left at the end of the day. I can't emphasize enough the quality of their work. It was just beautiful. The paint crew, led by Vladimir, once again did unbelievable work; totally transforming the appearance of an already exquisite job. Although color decisions were ultimately mine, Vladimir was always willing to offer a suggestion as to which color to use on a particular area. (I had selected four colors for the primary on the house, secondary for the house, trim and the doors.) These individuals collectively transformed my house (a basic ranch) into a home that I am proud to show off. In summation, I would highly recommend A Cut Above Exteriors if you want premium quality work on your home. You can probably get a siding job done cheaper but I truly believe you get what you pay for. There is nothing I can say negatively about the experience from the initial walk around with Joe, the actual installation with Josh, Nikolay, Rosty and Eugene and finally the painting with Vladimir and his crew. I would absolutely use ACAE again.

I am a new mom and was thinking having a design/build firm would be perfect since this project would be down to studs. Then I would not have to act as the general contractor. I did some research and seen the Craftsman Design and Renovation van around the neighborhood. I called and the office person was wonderful and she said the owner would call me back to discuss next steps. Well today I talked to the owner and outlined my process so far. I had mentioned I started my search at Home Depot and had an idea of cabinets and countertops. He said he was a design build firm and people come to them to design, this was said in what I felt was a dismissive tone. The conversations started to take a turn. I said "don't customers have an idea of colors?". He then went to tell me that his company does remodels in the ballpark of 50K. He never asked me the size of my home or my budget. I guess my money is not good enough. I can only imagine the communication on a project if this is how the first impression went. UPDATE: the owner of Craftsman Design and Build got wind of this post and called to make this right. He did sincerely apologize. He called because he wanted this post down/revised. I understand that a bad review here can be hurtful to a business. I use reviews here to learn and choose where to spend my $. I am updating my rating a smidge because he did reach out to me. I had a roof and exterior project with this company. Long story short, faulty roof install,…read morespecifically around the flashing of the chimney that the owner never fixed or paid for. Leaks observed in the following winter season after install that were never repaired or resolved. Even though it was under warranty in the contract. We also had issues with their exterior painting subcontractor who was very hostile towards our concerns of painting in the winter (cold temps and rain- we wanted to wait until spring. We insisted which drove him into a fit). The bigger issue was with the roof leak however and after contacting the Viktor the owner he offered to pay for the repairs (We had to hire another roofing company to come and fix, and also hire a mold mitigation company to remove mold). He never paid after over many months of notice. These problems are often resolved in legal mitigation with a contractors bonding company, however we discovered he had been recently sued by someone else for over $16k which drained their bond. Thankfully the other roofing company did a solid job of fixing the leak issues and mold mitigation company also did a perfect job removing mold so there is happy ending to the roof. However, do your homework on Washington labor and industries website https://secure.lni.wa.gov/ before hiring this company, or for any contractor for that matter. As of now their license is suspended, but yet they still advertise. Be careful out there!

I hired Viktor with Provision Remodeling to hang new cement board siding on my home and remove the…read moredrywall infested LP siding which was failing and original to our home. We went through him for exterior paint as well, which he insisted on using Sherwin Williams for, as they are considered the best quality. In the process of having our home looked over to see what projects we could afford to do, we had an unpleasant surprise in finding out the previous home owners...who replaced the roof themselves...laid the roof shingles incorrectly and therefore we had swelling and imminent failure. I received quotes from four exterior siding companies, as well as six roofing companies. I could have gone with two separate companies but Viktor won my business for two reasons. He was competitive with the siding and roofing companies I was seriously considering and he was very communicative. He answered so many questions. We have never had major home repairs done. We both had family and friends pepper us with horror stories of companies giving them a reasonable price and then tacking on thousands in charges at the end. I probably drove him a little nutty with all my concerns before we agreed to sign the contract. Then, after we signed, we added on work we hadn't realized needed to be done as well. For one, I thought the rubber trim wood around garage doors was part of the siding. It is not. Ours was in need of replacement. Our exterior outlets were outdated and out of code, as they were original to the house...twenty-five years ago. We asked for our bathroom exhaust fans to be replaced, which were accessed via the attic and that led to finding out our master bath vent was never even hooked up...just a fan box buried in insulation. That answered why we kept having motors burn out every two to three years. There was trim replacement which was unplanned for as well. There were a couple of delays, but Viktor was always responsive and reassuring when those happened and the work was not only done but done so well I've had multiple people, in the neighborhood, comment on the quality of the final job. His employees are friendly and patient with my curious George mind...asking about every little thing, as I just never stop asking how things work. He even went above and beyond. I ordered a new sliding patio door from a door company he works with all the time and when they were not communicative, Viktor followed up with them to find out what was going on. The additional charges for the work added after contract signing was very reasonable. I am fully confident in my recommendation of Viktor and his team. They are perfectionists, professional, patient, communicative, and friendly. I am very happy I chose to give Provision Remodeling my business and would do so again.
