What happened to Rushtix? It use to be focused on event planning. Before covid, this was the coolest service to get to go to all the fun events in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area. I was hoping it would be like that again after the epidemic. the focus appears to be now online interactive event services and it is far different then it once was. Apparently, there are those people who love the way it is now as according to recent reviews on their website but I miss the chance of actually going to events. I do not want to participate on virtual events online, I want to actually go to events. If I recall, there was another event planning service called Up & Out that has long gone but they had some major problems that led to apparently permanently closing the business from what I remember but cannot find any information about it anymore on the Internet. read more

I've only used RushTix once so far, but the experience was super easy and really great overall. RushTix lets you see events for cheaper than entry (or even free, by using their token system). I went to see a ballet for free the other night. All I had to do was print something out online. My tickets were already arranged and I had great seats, without any worry about whether or not my tickets would work (like some other companies...). All in all, I would definitely recommend RushTix to the average person looking for discounts on great events in their area. read more

I've been a very happy member of RushTix for more than 3 years now. Imagine you had a personal assistant whose only job was to research and share with you an up-to-date list of all the cool things happening in your area. Then once you've chosen something you like, they'll also take care of all the payment and booking for you. That's what RushTix is. They're like your personal concierge for making weekend (or weekday) plans. Before RushTix, I would have to hope to hear out about cool events from my personal network (which is unpredictable), OR check different event websites to see what's going on (which is a lot of work). With RushTix, all I have to do is log in (usually once or twice a week), look through their event listings (usually around 100 to 200 at any given point), choose something I like, and then they take care of the rest. I don't have to spend any extra time trying to "discover" cool events, and I don't have to enter in my credit card details again every time I want to book an event. They take care of all of that. I just checked my booking history, and I've booked almost a hundred events through RushTix, for events costing anywhere from $20 to as much as several hundred dollars per ticket (but I only pay the monthly subscription fee). To give you an idea of how diverse their selection is, thanks to RushTix I've been able to enjoy: - So many food festivals! e.g. chocolate, wine, Filipino food, Italian food, international tea, etc. - Opening night tickets to movies like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Martian (with book author Q&A), etc. - Standup comedy - Live music - Circus shows - Ballet - Classical music concerts - Culture tours - Magic shows - Art galleries and museums - etc. The only reason I'm writing this review is because of how much value and entertainment I've gotten from RushTix, and I want others to be able to do the same. For the show we booked, the money was worth it. I signed up to get a signed card from the entertainer but they needed different information so I had sent it to them only a few day after they asked. I checked in once and they said they would get back to me and never did so I checked in 3 more times after a few months and they finally responded. They said it was to late and I have not gotten any money back or anything in the mail. Other people could have had a better and much different experience, but this was my'n and thought I should share it. No hate here! read more

So far I'm using the free version which gives you the option to choose 3 events every day that you can vote on (gives you tokens for each vote) and/or purchase using the tokens. My husband and I went to a comedy show and foodienight this weekend using free tickets from here. We both really enjoyed the event and happy with the savings as well as discovering something new. I like the variety of the activities. However, you can only book tix of the day with the base membership, which is not great for people who like who enjoys planning. It would be good if rushtix could communicate the rule of booking at the beginning. E.g., basic membership can only book tix of the day. I did not enjoy my booking being blocked when I made plans and try to book an event a few days before the event time. read more

Super economical for plays, concerts, seminars, etc. I've tried 6 events out already including the Savor Sonoma: The Ultimate Barrel Tasting Experience. I've been using RushTix for over a year now, and have found it to be an awesome experience. Not only have I been able to get discount tickets to countless cool events I would have attended at full price anyway, but their lists of upcoming events also turned me on to new bands, events and experiences that I have really enjoyed! I highly recommend giving RushTix a try to anyone in the Bay Area. I think it will be especially helpful to people new to the Bay. They even let you pitch them upcoming events that you'd like to attend at a discount, and survey their members to see if other people find them interesting, so they have their members be involved in what events they want offered in the future. read more

My first event was was at the fab new WeWork in Mill Valley(separate review) with live band San Geronimo. If you are mild to moderate tech savvy you maybe a bit confused at first as I was. Simply RushTix gives you entre to comp events and earn tokens by submitting reviews to access more events. Don't be put off, persevere, it's worth it. read more

As a single sober gal, it's hard to find things to do that don't always involve booze. I find myself trying cultural events that I wouldn't normally buy tickets for. The points system is great and with their new tiered pricing plan you can do a lot, for just a little bit of money. I also really love the fact that they invite their members to participate in the curation part of the deal. You can also suggest events and they're really grateful! The customer service has been exceptional as well. Highly recommend if you are tired of the same old routine and want to try a bunch of new things. read more

So, I'm not expecting any special treatment! However this company refuses to accept that life happens. I bought the tickets, and due to illness I can't go. It's not like I'm asking for a refund. A simple change of name and email. Even the theater said they would love to help out but couldn't since it was a third party. This third party is not flexible by any means necessary. RushTix offers something for everyone. I esp like this (low cost) membership as it introduces me to clubs and bands I would never have thought to explore. They also have tickets to the better known events like the Academy of Science's 'nightlife' series, along with cultural talks on a wide range of subjects. Better yet-- if I don't use all my points that month, they automatically roll over to the following months as they never expire! Sweet! I absolutely love this service! My friends and I have enjoyed a concert, play, and music/camping festival within the first month's trial. Each event was wonderful and no issues whatsoever in appearing on the guest list at the actual event. It was easy to book and although it's recommended to print your confirmation that you immediately receive by email, none of the 3 events cared to see it; I was simply asked for my ID. I do actually recommend RushTix to all family and friends I encounter. I can't wait to attend the next event - love it!! read more

What a great thing! A membership for arts and culture, like a gym membership, only hipper and more SF! As a member, one pays a monthly fee, then has access to between 2 and 8 (or more) pairs of tickets...depending on the level one joins at...per month to arts events, lectures, tech events, and the like.
