They just do a spectacular job! Seating is convenient. Great view of the stage no matter where you sit. Their lighting and sound crew is fantastic. You have access to the drink menu and sometimes the dessert menu. The Liberace and Liza show is absolutely fabulous! These two are brilliant! Love every show we've ever seen, we travel from Portland just to see their show. We love that Feinstein's keeps inviting them back, we'll keep coming to see it! Truly, if you have an experience to attend any show at Feinstein's, you should go experience. A lovely, quaint, comfortable, cozy theater tucked away in the heart of SF!

We saw a show here and found it smaller than some of the other theaters in San Francisco, but it was still lovely and full of character. Unfortunately, our experience with the service was not great. My husband was still looking for parking while I went to retrieve our tickets from will call. I was already inside the building, standing near the entrance, when he came to the doorway. I simply wanted to hand him his ticket so it could be scanned and he could come inside to join me. As I tried to hand the ticket to him through the doorway, the employee checking tickets stepped in front of me and repeatedly told me that I could not leave the building and come back inside. I explained several times that I was not trying to leave I only wanted to hand my husband his ticket. However, she kept repeating the same statement without listening to what I was actually saying. After trying to explain the situation multiple times, I finally kept it simple and said, "I know. Can I just hand this ticket to him?" At that point, she seemed to understand, scanned his ticket, and allowed him to come inside. What made the interaction frustrating was not the policy itself, but the way it was handled. The employee came across as rude and dismissive, and I felt as though I was being treated like I had done something wrong when I was simply trying to give my husband his ticket. A little more patience and communication would have gone a long way. The theater itself was lovely, and we enjoyed the show, but the interaction at the entrance left a negative impression and could have been handled much more professionally.

We booked the tickets late and got seats In the last row of the balcony. (Row B). At first we thought we would have been so high up and would not being able to see or hear the performers and the band very well but that was not the case. The only problem was that the chairs in the last row of the balcony were a little high and uncomfortable. Plenty of room to stand so we opted to stand for most of the event. For our next visit we will try to select Row A instead of Row B. Overall a great venue for a Jazz concert. We did not have anything to eat at the restaurant so I won't be able to comment on the food. All staff members we encountered were very helpful. If you are looking for a nice venue for a Jazz concert in San Francisco, this is the place. It's easily accessible by BART from the Civic Center station or Muni from the Van Ness Station.

John ensured i could still get the tickets (even though the tickets were in my friend's name and that was not supposed to be allowed). Even more he coordinated with someone to make sure I could pick the tickets up at will call even though that was also not allowed. EVEN MORE he gave me a call back each day to update me on the situation. Again, above and beyond anything I would expect.

My dad, born and raised here in S.F, is a baby boomer, so he loves the music of the 60s. Motown music for those of you who don't know what that genre is, early soul music like the Tempations with their hit My Girl, The Four Tops, Smokey Robbinsen, Diana Ross and the Surpremes...etc. The show was great, Theatre 39 is on the second level of Pier 39. It is a local show, the main performers are a trio called Top Shelf, 3 local older guys, graduates of Lowell, Washington, and Balboa high schools. And 3 other local gals as well. With this little aspect, it definitely gave the show great h e a r t . Brought back a lot of memories for my dad as they are pretty much the same age as he is. The Theatre itself was very small and intimate, very comfortable seats. Every seat is probably a great seat. However, the sound system was extremely weak. There were times where the singers voices sounded very echoey and the microphones screeched a few times. The live band was great, but they overpowered the singers due to the weak sound system. Overall, very entertaining local show remembering the days of Motown in the 1960s. Dad enjoyed the show very much, as he was able to sing along to the songs he grew up with. =)

I booked the tickets through ticketmaster as it was half off for weekend nights. The theatre was actually quite impressive with an unusual concert location ( I won't give it away) and great seating. No seat in there is blocked or obstructed. The performance had its highlights and I would say a grade below broadway. The actors and actresses were upbeat and the crowd got into some of the parts as well. The only downside is that after intermission, the Hard Rock Cafe below started playing loud rock songs which could be felt through your knickers. This distracted me somewhat and I had wondered what the theatre designers were thinking when they made a theatre above a rock restaurant? I would go back given the price discount and the location. Nice for an outing after dinner or to grab dessert after the show.
