Never thought I'd say this, being that I live in Kenosha, WI., but I want to share a story about…read moreAWCM.... A very good friend of mine, I'll call him Joe, adopted a 12+yr old chow/shepherd mix last December when another friend of ours passed away. Fast forward 6 months to last week, when Joe tells me that he is worried about his old gal, seems she was having trouble breathing. When asked what the vet said, I was told that the vet said "she's old, has arthritis, is overweight, and wasn't hearing anything that would cause alarm". He took her home from the first appointment and when she was still having difficulty breathing a couple days later, he took her back to the vets office to see another doc there, and was told the same thing, basically being dismissed. He asked me what I thought and would appreciate any suggestions for another vet. He lives in Evergreen Park, and I'm thinking who the hell do I know that far South?!?!?! AWCM! So I told him to call them, explain the situation, tell them that a volunteer with It's a Pittie Rescue recommended them - 2 days later he took her to her appointment (I do not know if he dropped the IPR name or not) What I do know is they made an appointment in 2 days for a new patient - UNHEARD OF! Also what I know is that he only dropped a couple hundred dollars for x-rays and a senior panel and a few other tests, and was PLEASED AS PUNCH that the vet took him seriously, listened to his concerns, and addressed every single one of them. Her x-rays came back clear and the other tests came back good as well - she went back today for a special diet and pain meds for her arthritis. Such simple things done to help make a senior dog more comfortable and a concerned owner very happy. Please let Dr. Wessels and the wonderful staff at AWCM know that I am VERY grateful that they do such a wonderful job of not only caring for their animal patients, but also their family, and will recommend them EVERY chance I get! Almost makes me want to move back to Illinois! Thanks for letting me tell my story... ~Dawn

I thought this vet would be fair to work with but I was totally wrong. LynnLee Wessels refused to…read moretreat my dog because I requested she review her dosage rate. original dosage was 25 mg Proin twice a day. Because I wanted ER Proin she prescribed 18 mg daily. It didn't make sense. When I went to pickup prescription I requested Lindsey to ask the vet to talk to me. She was extremely rude and told me I had to wait 48 hours to change script. She told falsehoods to vet and I was banned from this vet center. When I called back to understand why they were doing this she didn't respond to request. Apparently they are only interested in making money on prescriptions handled at this facility then scripts from outside pharmacies. Making $700 on an unnecessary operation was more of a necessity then treating my dog.
