I think this is going to be my 'go to' store for when in am in need of a present or just feel like treating myself. They have a lot of very yummy local products, soaps, dishtowels, candles, silly gifts, too much to name. They also have good antiques which are going to be awesome as Christmas presents. I am going to go by on a regularly basis to see what new fun stuff they have so I don't have to rush in December when everyone is out there buying!! I thought I would share as this is definitely something we needed in Woodstock and I can't buy it all myself anyway :-).

What Maverick Road IS: this is the store of all stores. Whether you're looking to buy something for yourself or a gift for a friend or family member, this gift shop has you covered. From earrings to children's+adult items, home decor, games, quirky things and not so quirky things. Service was great from Tanya(o) who helped along the way with a smile. The items here are one-of-a-kind. I picked up a cassette tape-styled magazine/folder rack for hubs and earrings I couldn't pass up for me. Price for my two items was under $40 and thought it was great!

They have so many…read morecandles of all different types and style: taper, tea light, votive, beeswax, etc. In the center of the store is a giant candle assemblage that's pretty remarkable. They have candles in a variety of themes for owl lovers, mushroom lovers, yoga enthusiasts, etc. While some may find the prices a little steep (I overheard a guy trying to convince his girlfriend to just buy candles in the dollar store because it's so much cheaper), the prices are not terribly unreasonable. Expect to pay a slight premium due to the touristic location but also no shipping and a unique experience.

He had some very nicely designed Woodstock apparel for sale in the back, ranging between T-shirts, hats, hoodies, and other themed items. The Christmas ornament selection was an awesome touch, and we naturally needed to opt for the glass Woodstock VW bus ornament. At the counter, fresh fudge is also sold. This seemed to be incredibly popular, and people waited for quite a while to purchase it, so it must be good! There were countless flavors available, and all of them sounded very good. The shop is clean, well-kept, and the staff are wonderful. Overall, a great stop if you're in the market for gifts for loved ones or anything else I mention above.

But what prompted us to even come here was to look for a damn night-light (yeah......out of all things) and had a hunch Topka would carry them. Not many in stock though but a nice mix of styles and colors coming in at $25 (I know....a night-light you asked). So to their defense, there are no mass-produced knick-knacks and their primary inventory ranges from hand-made/hand-painted items, Chimes and a few other things. Prices are indeed up there and I kid you not...a lot of their stuff may not be my style, but the work and selections look interesting. 3+1/2 to wrap it up. We wanted to use our Card to pay, but the person asked if we could use cash, as we were her "first customers for the day". But there was a small sign on the counter that read something along the lines of, "cash is kindly suggested"- I didn't question it- just thought it was odd. I didn't come out as a believer, and I don't know if Topka is going to fuel my day for shopping......but I did leave with a Multi-color Night-Lite.

This used to be my go-to place in the Catskills for German sausages, deli and grilling meats…read more(steaks, rack of lamb etc). Unfortunately, since the business got sold and had a change in owners, things have gone downhill big time. The sausages are far from what they used to be. Casings are not properly closed, they don't taste the same and their Wienerle look wrinkly and outright unappetizing + they are oversmoked. Very sad to see an institution go downhill and change that quickly from being an authentic German butcher to being a subpar spot that has none of the craftsmanship and quality that they used to have. Won't be back!!
