Thursday, approaching closing time, and short staffed - I'm not taking anything away because the owners were so friendly and fun, I would say not to be in a rush at Rushbrook But MY GOD. The focaccia is so incredibly light, but not flimsy at all and held up to the sandwich contents. I was afraid that the chips would be complete mush after 45 seconds, but not at all the case - even an hour or more later when I had the other half of my turkey sammich, the chips weren't grossly soggy. We wanted a cold foam maple coffee, but their barista was out and he was out of practice - Jolene shouted from the kitchen to make him do it anyway!! We didn't, but had a couple iced coffees and they were fine. Jolene's tropical-ish cookie was very nice, as were the packaged chocolate chip caramel walnut cookies. I absolutely want to go back for breakfast and bowls and they also have a grab & go area that looked incredible, it appears the offerings change weekly? Stopped by Rushbrook General Store & Cafe while visiting family and wow--this place is such a cozy little gem! We were recommended by some locals and they did not steer us wrong. We tried Hank's Ham Sandwich, and let me just say--I never would've thought to pair peach jam, ham, and chips in a sandwich, but it totally works. Sweet, salty, crispy, and just the right amount of indulgent. Paired with a crunchy pickle and some creamy coleslaw on the side--comfort food done right. But what really made the experience extra special was the kindness of the team. Grady and Jolene (food creators) and our wonderful server, Lauren, made us feel right at home. They even surprised me with a slice of their blueberry crumble cake for my birthday--completely unprompted! It was such a thoughtful touch and the cake itself was packed with juicy berries and a perfect crumb topping. The vibe inside is super charming too--part cafe, part general store, with a cozy, nostalgic feel. You can grab everything from housemade treats to local goods. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. I am so glad I was able to make a trip and head up to this very cute store/ cafe. Yes, I would have to say it's a hidden gem . Everything there is very delicious. I decided to get the Fry bowl, which had a cut up pieces of omelet, small potatoes with yum yum drizzle on it , and a mini salad. Wow, it was very delicious. The prices are also amazing as well. The owner and the staff are all very nice, and the service was top notch. I absolutely loved this place. Definitely come here and check it out. read more

Stopped by this adorable yummy smelling place to use the ladies room ... on my way to hike Huckleberry Point Trail :) Not only was it so adorable and yummy smelling the nicest people own/work there !!!! I kept trying to buy a little something so I could use their lovely rest room n not feel guilty and they kept giving me food for free !!!!! I begged them to let me pay for something so I could use their ladies guilt free :) I got the most delicious freshly baked crumb cake !!!!! The food looked awesome !!! Go here !!!! A local chef told us this place was his preference for breakfast in the area. We were greeted and treated by friendly service. The coffee was very good and they have some really unique food choices. The absolute stand out was the cheese biscuit bacon egg and cheese. It is very worth the calorie splurge. The cheese biscuit was unlike any other I've had. Soft and flavorful but didn't fall apart as you ate the sandwich. We had the burrito pocket as well, another novel take on something you find on many breakfast menus. Loads of flavor and you can tell that a lot of care goes into choosing their meats and ingredients. The cook leaned out to us to see how we liked her meal. Seems like the kind of place and location where people are happy to go to work. You can also purchase some snacks and home items on from the shop side of the store.
