According to the surgeon and the hospital staff, the pre-surgery therapy was perfect for me has laid out by Advanced Physical Therapy. My post surgical therapy went very well. All of the attention to detail and working with my personality made it very easy to keep going. Everybody I was in contact with from reception through my therapist Cassandra they made me feel very much at ease and at home. Kasia excels at what she does and exceeded my expectations. I have Ehlers Danlos, POTS, and developed frozen shoulder, an atypical combination. Not only did Kasia understand each condition, she treated me with compassion, patience, and positivity, while educating and empowering me along the way. Because of Kasia I am in far less pain and have almost full range of motion back. She is a godsend.

Kashia is an expert in diagnosing real issues (ie. in my case, my neck and back issues might be contributing to the elbow problem) and treating them accordingly. She runs a busy practice, but definitely takes the time with each patient to assess status, treat pain with massage and exercise and provides exercises to do at home in between appointments. My experiences there made me feel that all PT practices are like medical facilities! Kamin is not; feels more like a med spa! They have 3 rooms, a mini gym, and 2 restrooms. The rooms, like I said, feel like a massage room. The lights are dim, they have soothing music on, and nice touches like mobiles hanging from the ceiling and a bowl of mints. The bathrooms are nice and are like what you find in a home. The gym has medicine balls, a treadmill, elliptical, etc. If someone accompanies you to an appointment, the waiting room offers a nice variety of tea and coffee while they wait! I really like my therapist there and hope she sticks around as I love this facility! The staff at the front is really nice as well and confirms appointments via text. The only thing is they do charge a $125 fee if you don't cancel your appointment w/in 24 hours.

The patients do most of the exercises themselves with barely any assistance from the staff. The supposedly certified physical therapists here spend more time schmoozing patients than actually doing their jobs. When the therapists aren't pretending to work, they dump all of their tasks onto their assistants who bounce between the patients and answering the telephone. Even worse, this location tried to ruthlessly over-bill my insurance company $450 an hour without even mentioning a $50 an hour co-pay. Athletico is just another crooked business operating in Illinois that tries to ripoff insurance companies and their patients. Don't bother complaining to their corporate office because they are in on the scam too.

Mandy is a wonderful physical therapist! I have been seeing Mandy on and off for the past 3 years…read morethrough my 2 pregnancies. One being a c-section and the other a v-bac. She helped me tremendously with my postpartum recovery. From C-section recovery and scar treatment/care to pelvic floor dysfunction and pain. I was also having severe back pain from nursing my 2nd son where I physically felt like I couldn't pick my children up or rock my baby and within a week I was feeling better and within 2-3 weeks the pain was gone and never came back. Mandy also helped me during my 2nd pregnancy prepartum with the aches and pains that came along with pregnancy and caring for a toddler. Along with preparing me with ideas and tips that my husband and sister could use to help alleviate some pain during contractions/labor. As soon as I was able to get back to PT I contacted her immediately. Not only is Mandy a phenomenal PT she is a lovely person. She is friendly, understanding, and easy to talk to.
