Avoid this clinic at all costs. I came in with neck and back…read morepain, expecting to be referred for an MRI. Instead, I was told that imaging wasn't necessary and was recommended a course of massages. After two weeks, there was some slight improvement, and I was informed that Dr. Peter would perform spinal manipulations on my neck. I clearly expressed that I was afraid of any neck-related procedures. While I was lying face down on the table, the doctor entered without a greeting or explanation, abruptly cracked my neck on both sides, and walked out without saying a word. Immediately after the procedure, I developed a severe headache on my way home. Ibuprofen helped for the first few days, but soon after, I began experiencing nausea, dizziness, and worsening pain. When I called the clinic to report these symptoms, I was given an appointment only several days later. At the follow-up, Dr. Peter falsely claimed that I had refused an MRI at the beginning, which is not true. When I corrected him, he threatened to call the police if I didn't leave the clinic within three minutes. No referral for MRI or proper treatment (such as steroids) was provided. It felt like they were trying to avoid having any documented evidence of their mistakes. This experience was not only unprofessional but also dangerous. I strongly advise against going to this clinic -- especially allowing anyone to perform neck manipulations without proper imaging. Dr. Peter showed a shocking lack of professionalism, communication, and concern for patient safety.

This was my first experience with physical therapy of any kind. My intake was performed at ATI's…read moreNiles location, and all subsequent sessions were in Skokie. The good: - Professional, competent and thoughtful physical therapists; - Friendly and responsive management, both at this facility, and at Niles and their Bolingbrook corporate office; - Clean, well-appointed facilities. The not-so-good: - During my time at this facility I was treated by four different PTs. It wasn't until several weeks into my therapy that one PT identified themselves as my "primary," and from then on was consistently available to me. Prior to that the communication between my PTs was limited, even dysfunctional, with each PT assigning me their own at-home exercises seemingly unaware of, or misinformed regarding the exercises I was already performing. This was dispiriting, especially when I'd accrued over a dozen exercises I thought I was obliged to work through daily. - A personalized web portal called MedBridge was presented to me as a resource for my at-home exercises and progress. I liked MedBridge, I liked having my exercises available online, but I soon realized that not all of my PTs used it, and those that did appeared not know how to use it properly. In the end, MedBridge became frustratingly unreliable and I stayed with my paper printouts instead. - It wasn't unusual for my PTs to be attending to another client at the same time as me. Given what ATI was billing my insurance provider, consistent one-on-one would have been appreciated--and expected. (One PT confided that ATI was having trouble hiring PTs and that most of the PTs currently at the facility were independents.) - During my intake, the facility manager wanted to charge me a $10 fee payable immediately. I advised him that my insurance card says, "Please do not collect $ at time of service," but I was told the $10 fee was not a co-pay, rather it was "co-insurance." I subsequently learned that the fee was really a pre-pay that applied against the total bill. At their request I gave them my credit card so they could auto-debit $10 for each session. Problem was that after several weeks the debits mysteriously stopped, and ATI Skokie told me they had no record of my credit card despite my having provided it several weeks earlier. I gave them my credit card again, and several weeks later they "lost" it again. Thereafter I refused to provide my card, telling them to instead call ATI corporate and work it out with them. To ATI's credit, they never bothered me about the pre-pays again. - This last thing was explained to me by ATI corporate as a marketing error: after about six sessions I received an email from ATI congratulating me on my "great progress" and proclaiming that I was, "close to reaching my goal!" Neither was true. Again, ATI owned it as a mistake, but dispiriting nonetheless.

How are there only a handful of amazing reviews on here about Sauganash Sports and Ortho? Well, I…read morewill continue to sing their praises... After such great care in 2024 for plantar fasciitis, there was no hesitation as to where to get the best PT. I returned in February with a frozen shoulder and could not have been in better care. I did go down the on-line search rabbit-hole and knew that this was going to be a long process and that can feel extremely defeating. With the inability to reach and the pain with movement, I appreciated that after a detailed overview in the initial visit, it was recognized that a big focus needed to be for me to be able to sleep through the night. As a side sleeper, I already had a month of not being able to sleep in my bed but on a couch forcing me on my back. This certainly wasn't a fast process, but we got there! Slowly I was able to do more of the things that I couldn't and had taken for granted. I can't thank Travis and Erin enough for consulting with me when I needed to decide whether to do surgery (as was suggested by my orthopedic doctor whom I had seen at a 5 week follow-up) or to continue with just PT. Their knowledge and guidance kept me on the right track. By the time I was discharged, I was not 100% but close enough that I knew that I had gained the knowledge needed to continue on my own. They also made sure to email me the most current list of stretches to work on at home. I miss the friendly 'hellos' that I would get when entering the facility and the chatting to get to know the folks who helped me. Thank you Travis, Erin, Sean and Jana! And thank you Katie for working with my insurance when we went through the glitches. All of you continue to shine like the superstars that you are!

Long review - but worth the read if you are looking for the best PT team…read more Sports & Ortho Sauganash is amazing! My Background: Having had 2 full knee replacements and now a hip, all at a "younger age", I have plenty of PT experience with most of the major players. Sports & Ortho - Sauganash team is a standout. Location: For me it is very accessible, nearby, street level and easy parking. It is a small location but it has all the equipment needed. Appointments and scheduling: They have both onsite staff and remote staff who support all Sports & Ortho locations and they respond extremely quickly, both to/through voice and email/website contacts. It was simple and quick to get an appointment and schedule my PT (3x per week). Hours of operation seemed odd on the website but IRL actually work well. I have never had a problem getting an appointment within my schedule. The Team: Assume this is the culture all over, but certainly the Sauganash team - therapists and the floor tech here are all extremely nice and well trained in their work. They know each and every patient by name and greet them coming/going and perhaps more importantly all of them have "eyes on" all patients regardless of whether it is their own and know any special needs, issues, things they should or shouldn't be doing or experiencing etc. They also understand how to work with /what works for you much quicker, and can customize and adjust your/my therapy sessions to provider faster and most effective progress. Everyone pitches in, the therapist talk to the patients, (not each other - unless they are collaborating about a patient). The PT/PA spends a solid 45 minutes with patients "hands-on", full attention, each and every session. I have worked with all of the PT/PAs (Travis, Erin, Deanna and even their intern Michael), every one of them is outstanding. Cam is the only floor tech I have worked with - he is a natural, very helpful, attentive and kind. In summary I can't recommend them highly enough - if there were more stars to award I would.

To be clear of my experience: Therapist was outstanding…read more Reason behind my rating: When I had originally enrolled my son to work with this facility my first and most important request was that he would have the ability to work with the same therapist. In receiving services with cps there was a lot inconsistency with services and the therapist was changing frequently. So naturally I thought that if we paid for private services this problem can be avoided. So I searched for a private practice . I was assured that the request for having my child consistently work with the same therapist would be fulfilled. Those assurances gave me peace of mind and with that we enroll our child. Now I'm being informed that my child will no longer be able to work with the same therapist due to policy change. I asked what the out of pocket expense would be to keep my son with the same therapist and was informed that "regrettably" that wasn't an option. Again I re-iterated to the facility prior to enrollment the importance it was for me to have 1 instructor work with my child. And now (a few short months later) my family and I can no longer be accommodated.
