The RK in Sweetwater is terrible. No customer service, and they don't care whether they can help you or not. I typically go to town once or twice a month for supplies. I continue to buy less and less there. If its on the shelf and I need it I will buy it....but if I have to ask for something, I don't even bother anymore. If nobody shows up at one of the counters in 5 or 10 minutes..... they ain't coming and just walk away. Don't waste your time. I depend on propane for some of my home necessities, but my last 6 trips to get propane was a waste. You wait outside and nobody shows up, and when they do they don't know how to fill your tank. One time they told me my tank valve was no good and I needed to buy a new tank..... funny that Co-Op down the road had no problem filling it 10 minutes later. I think that is just an excuse not to do a little work.... just like their new favorite response.... "We are out of propane..." read more

I'm in the Sweetwater, Tn store every week. I don't know whats happening but in the last 1.5 years things have gone downhill. Today I go in and ask for a flat cart to handle five bags of feed. Was told we don't have many so if you want one you'll need to go in the parking lot to find one. Next I needed 6, five gallon buckets of roof paint. Asked two different associates for assistance and both times they called over the radio but nobody responded. For the hour and 15 minutes I was in the store, the only person that was kind and helpful was Klumpy , the tractor mechanic. I needed three flat carts and two extra hands to haul out all I was wanting to purchase but with nobody willing to assist and no flat carts, I grabbed three items. The blue tape on sale rang up double the reg price. When I told the cashier, she called over the radio for a price check. After a few minutes with no help I told her forget it. I left with only a gas cap for my tractor. Guess that Tractor Supply and Ace Hardware will now be receiving all my business. read more

I stood at the ammo dept. for 15 minutes waiting. No one in the area. No buzzer or anyway to call for someone unless you walk upfront. Very poor. Lost a sale, if you really care. read more

What a decacle!!!! I live in Crossville, and our local Rural King didnt have what I needed, so I checked stores near me, and Sweetwater was showing the piece was available. So, I call the next morming, to inquire about availability, and, I was cheerfull told that they has several in stock. I said, did you check inventory and verify rather than relying on computer, I then said I would be driving down from Crossville and its close to 2hrs 1 way. And, I was again assured it was in stock.......... Guess what, I drove there, and, they didnt have any. I was furious!!! I asked to speak to the mamager. And I patiently waited more than 20min, and No management came to talk to me. So, I guess my gas, time and worse, complete inconvenience didnt mater to anyone at that store, I only got an insincere we're sorry as I left in disgust. Ive spent a lot of money at rural king. New compact tractor. Implements, shop equipment, firearms, tools, home goods, clothing......... to be treated like my time was worthless, and my patronage is meaningless. 90% of a day, wasted!!!!! read more

Wouldn't give any if it were an option! They don't stand behind the equipment they sell. Bought a zero turn lawn mower at the end of March. Had it back at the shop there and that was the second time that it had been used Took it back two more times for the same problem. It wasn't cheap! Now it's ready for it's fourth time! Mgr said nothing he can do about it. Bring it back and they'll fix it. Today is the second time that tried to use it and can't!!! This sucks! Will never buy anything like that again!!! The store in Sweetwater, Tennessee is great! The customer service there is good when you stop someone and ask for assistance. (They won't ask you). However, they have absolute worst website in the retail business and their customer service telephone service offers anything but service. Called the customer service line around 4:30 one evening and was put on hold until after 5 at which time they were closed. No customer service in that. read more

One of the worst places to shop. They never have enough cashiers, you wait in line way longer than necessary and the woman that works at the service desk is considerably rude. Don't bother trying to get your propane tank filled, even when there's hardly any customers in the store you still have to wait for them to send someone out. If they even did. read more

I was so excited to go to a rural king finally! I have heard so much about the place and wanted to see if what I have been hearing was true. While in town visiting my mom, I stopped in. My mind was blown at the vast array of items they carry! I used my cellphone and price compared several of the items we were interested in and Rural King had amazing prices! They even went out of their way to find a hoodie in one of their other locations in my husbands size. Don't go here if you don't have fluff money around for sure. It was my first time inside a rural king and might be my last. We came to the store because of a sale on one of their products. Drove an hour out of our way to pick it up and check out what this store has to offer. We saw they had baby chicks of a specific breed I had been wanting and we were eager to get them. But we couldn't find an employee anywhere. We walked around the area and saw no employees. Husband walked all the way up to the front customer service and back twice. Lady next to us called twice. They made an announcement over the intercom. We waited waited and waited. There were 3 different customers waiting over 40 minutes. We waited there so long we got to know each other. We saw the boxes and the shavings and started packing up our own chicks (you can lean over the tubs). It was at this point that an employee finally showed up and yelled and berated me in an extremely aggressive manner. I didn't realize anyone was there she just immediately started yelling and coming at me. She hollered that she had arrived at work at 1pm and had not had the time to respond. The current time was 2:30pm. Then she yanked the box from my hands and demanded to know what I wanted. Then she real fast reached down and snatched a chick out of the tub scared all of them into a stampede which probably killed one of the chicks in the tub as it got trampled pretty bad. I expected if/when an employee showed up that they would apologize for the wait and assist us. Not that hot mess. Very very bad experience. Very unprofessional. read more

Nice selection but it's hard to find a price on things. Over half the things I wanted didn't have a price! I went to thier pricechecker app but you must be an employee to use It! This is most agravating. K Mart was like this before it went under. I won't drive 20 miles from home again until the problem is fixed. read more

The store is just amazing. Great selection and pretty decent prices. I needed an Assistant Manager to assist me with a purchase I wanted to make. The AM (Jan) was horrible. She told me she was too busy for frivolous questions. She quickly returned to her popcorn making tasks. I left and made my purchase in Crossville TN. That store was just as wonderful to shop at but the upper management had a much better grasp with their management staff and the employees were working much more efficiently read more

Always been a fan, one reason was because they carried an excellent seasoning, Riley's All Purpose. Now they've dropped it and don't have anything even close in quality. VERY disappointing. Will not return and will let others know. Just bring back a good product!! read more

Love this store. My husband and I had stopped in about 5 months ago and Sandi helped us with some gardening questions. We again stopped in today and I happened to see Sandi and said hello. I followed with you probably don't remember me, but you helped us a few months ago. She then replied of course I do and said my name. Wow just wow!
