He is very informed about his wine, and said he doesn't carry anything that he hasn't personally tasted. They have a new closeout wine wall section which offers some really great deals. If you are ever searching for something just ask Clarence and he will do his darnedest to get it for you. He also has some great bottles that are a little pricier. For those wine snobs out there, I was able to locate a 2007, 2008, & 2009 Jordan Napa Cabernet Sauvignon selection. Those were delicious! If you find yourself on this side of town then stop in here and check it out. I prefer daytime hours over the night as the pan-handlers can get a little out of control. Hope you like this little store as much as I do. Cheers & Enjoy!

Clarence, the owner, was quick to offer assistance and plenty of friendly conversation. He suggested several of his favorite wines from Clarence's 'Hall of Fame', all in varying price points. He wasn't pushing in any way, just there to help and answer any questions. He was excited to offer the history on a few of the wineries. He certainly knows his stuff. I usually go a little out of my way to end up at Palace, but it's always worth it! Prices are on par and the staff is friendly.

You can get a tasting flight of 13 of their distilled spirits (I'd guess that equals 3-4 shots) for the incredible price of $10, and if you purchase something after the tasting, you get $5 off of the purchase price. It's a cute little place just a short walk from Old City (downtown). The staff are friendly and the vibe is casual, fun and cozy. Our favorites were the smoky gin and the rye 95, but pretty much all of their spirits were good (well, the unaged corn whiskey -- aka "moonshine" was not my thing, basically it's like drinking rubbing alcohol). Highly recommended!
