I have shopped the Gun Barn on several occasions, always excellent prices. The salesman at the Gun Barn appear to be very knowledgeable and helpful. One particular older salesman ( Mark or Mike I think ) really goes above and beyond. He is very friendly and explains everything patiently and slow. he never appears to talk down to you like they sometimes do at other gun stores ( Vance Outdoors) I have bought several handguns for self defense and have been impressed with the prices as well as information I receive. Never heard of Rural King, but it looked interesting so I pulled in the large parking lot. I liked it as it was a super large hardware store with clothes, canned foods, snacks and about anything you need at a lot of good prices. When you walk in you can get a free bag of popcorn, and it's tasty, not salty. I got popcorn on the way out and ate it in the car. Coffee is there for a few bits. Then, grab a cart and get lost in the aisles. I picked up a dozen suet squares for my bird feeder for $6.49. My friend got 40 lbs. of Diamond dog food for $27.99. Some prices were amazing, and we saw some unusual things, and some hard to find items. If you see a Rural King, stop in. read more

Rural King is different. Kind of a country Odd Lots. A little bit of everything, generally reasonable prices. Food, clothes, home and garden supplies, farm gear. This time I went for hay bales and pumpkins for Halloween. No hay, and mostly rotten pumpkins. Guess it is already Xmas decorating season. I also looked for root beer, because they have an interesting food section. Small, with a few basics and some intriguing unusual stuff. No root beers that were new to me, but several unusual ones, and other pops. Meh. Sometimes it's handy, and I had figured it would be a good place for hay and pumpkins, but not this time. Stop in, though, and see what they have. You might not get everything on your list, but you will probably find something you need, or just want. read more

Dirty, Filthy store- no soap in the woman's restroom, the toilet paper dispenser is broke so they just sit it on top of the taped up broken holder. Disgusting!! The ACH machine didn't work. And the cashier didn't speak and acted like her life was over! LOL no thanks on the free popcorn, I have no clue who made it and with no soap in the bathroom I can guarantee they didn't wash their hands ! read more

I went Rural King today because a friend of mine told me she got some k-cups in a flavor I like at a pretty reasonable price so I thought I would go check it out. I rarely go to Rural King bc it's not located in a place that is convenient to me, but I have to admit, they have a lot of cool stuff, so I was looking forward to going. Luckily I found a great parking spot and walked in and immediately found exactly what I was looking for. I checked the price against Amazon Prime and they were a couple cents cheaper so I put a couple boxes in my cart. I wasn't in a hurry so although I didn't really need anything else, I thought I'd look around. As I was walking up and down the aisles, I needed to use the restroom. The store seemed decently clean, but when I walked into the ladies room, wow! Was I surprised! And not in a good way! There was trash on the floor, broken paper towel holder with a roll laying on top, molding from the wall that goes around the floor was off, the door was all scratched up, the walls need repainted. It was a mess! And it looked like the floors hadn't been cleaned in many months, and the toilet seats were gross too! Needless to say, I left. I like the store but enter the restrooms at your own risk!! Does the store manager not ever do inspections? No? Then they need to start! Very disappointing! read more

Rural King has everything we need for our animals. Their prices are a little lower than Tractor Supply so we do not mind driving farther to get it. Plus you get free popcorn and coffee when you go into the store. Not only do they have animal feed, they also have firearms and hunting supplies. It is deer season. read more

Ordered by the mask police to have mask over my nose. I just had eye surgery and cannot have anything around my eyes. This constitutes a medical issue which negates masks anyway. Gun counter sales area has a sign in sheet and only 2 people permitted at counter. Once again we encountered a not so friendly associate, who is wearing an Arab scarf as a mask. I suppose that meets all mandates for face covering. As we proceed to look at buying a gun safe we discover all of Rural Kings safes are made in CHINA. So much for their "good old boy rural" store, seems more like a Chinese operative as we continued to shop we found more and more of their products were import from China. So we end up near the check out and are greeted by I assume the manager and the mask BS begins. Our cart was left full and we walked out the door. We will NEVER shop at Rural King again and I hope more patriotic Americans read this and do the same. read more

Wouldn't even give them that! Bathrooms aren't clean... and because of recent thefts they are being very rude and ignorant towards customers.... I took a box with a pair of boots over to my husband and was accused of stealing.... I guess you aren't allowed to try them on! And then I put them back because they didn't fit and was then followed and watched the whole time while in the store.... the manager was even worse! I worked in retail and know that this is not the way to go about things! I am a paying customer but this location lost my business from here on out and I will be calling Corp. read more

I had a bad experience with the Circleville Rural King. I placed an on-line order. The confirmation email I received stated that I had 14 days to pickup the order. Two days later I received a call from the store demanding that I pickup the order within the next day or it would be cancelled. The employee that called was very rude and didn't want to acknowledge the confirmation email that I had received. The pickup experience was not much better as it took 30+ minutes to pickup the 2 items that I had already paid for. The store was not clean, employees were not helpful and it was an overall bad experience. There are other similar retailers that provide a much better experience. I won't be back! read more

Parking lot in Heath Ohio is FULL of potholes. Some are so large they can't be straddled and they are deep. Won't stop there again.

We got a New 30 ton log splitter from the Heath store. It will not start, period!! Called them, they said bring it back and they will make it right. Took it back, 3 days later the teck? says the pump is bad, ( I'm not sure what this has to do with the motor, the hydraulics do not run until the motor starts) He said they will order a new one and then we can have it back. SORRY FOLKS, I WANT TO SEE IT RUN FIRST!! read more
