My cart was full, and I only spent around $130. Unfortunately, the customer service at the register was disappointing. While placing my groceries on the conveyor belt, I greeted the cashier three different times. She didn't respond, didn't make eye contact, and didn't acknowledge me at all. I even moved closer and said "hi" again, but still nothing. Another employee came over to help bag my groceries, and I also helped by placing the bags into my cart. After paying, I said "thank you," thinking maybe the cashier had a hearing issue. I repeated "Thank you, have a good day" loud enough for both employees to hear. She finally looked up but still didn't respond. I said "thank you" once more, and she eventually replied, but in a rude tone. She was working register #2 around 11:50am today (8/27). She didn't have a name tag, but my receipt shows the name Darlene B. I hope she receives coaching on greeting customers and providing basic courtesy. Every customer deserves respect, and front‑facing roles require professionalism. Experiences like this can impact whether people choose to return.

I go through Checkout #1, and was rang up by a #Teeter Associate. I was tempted by the sales, and purchased far more than what I had originally gone in there for. I pay with my card, and ease over to the Customer Service counter to play my Powerball numbers, after my items are paid for and bagged. Afterwards, I head towards the door, briefly looking at #Starbucks mugs and glanced over at the holiday candy that was being stocked. In my peripheral vision, I see 2 Managers easing to the front, 'incognito,' or so they thought, but I still didn't give it a second thought, that is UNTIL my cart locked up at the door on a dime. My original thought was that I had ran over an item on the floor, so I tried to move again. By the time I looked up, a Teeter Associate was at my cart with a scanner to UNLOCK the #AutoCartLock that #HarrisTeeterHT have now installed on their carts. When I asked the Associate why my cart locked up, she said, "you were not at the register long enough for the system to deactivate the lock." Like, #WTF!!! What the hell you mean I wasn't at the Associate manned register long enough, when my receipt look like a long #CVS receipt, and it's almost as long as my damn legs, and I'm 5'10" tall?! I didn't use the self-service registers, and have ALWAYS refused to use them! She unlock the cart, and apologize. That's not gonna fly with me! You don't lock my cart up, while other customers behind me walk out without incident! I'm NOT buying the BS they tried to sell me!! I turn around and go directly to CS. Those same 2 Managers come to the counter in an attempt to explain away the stop, NOW blaming it on a broken sensor at Register 1. Now, for the sake of argument, if they KNEW the auto-release-lock sensor was broken, why open the damn register when there are NUMEROUS other registers to open???‍ I'm NOT buying the explanation, because they know as well as I do, why they stopped ME, and not other customers!! Plain and simple, I was stopped because of the color of my skin, PERIOD!! I refunded EVERYTHING on that damn receipt!! I was too humiliated and mad to accept the TWO weak explanations they tried to peddle!! A day before #VeteransDay and this is what I encountered after clearly being scanned by their Associate!! I started shopping here about two months ago in an effort to see if we could cut back on our…read moregrocery bill. Wow! I wish we had made the switch a long time ago. We were spending about $120 or more a week grocery shopping at Martin's. Now we never spend more than $60 a week; usually less. Thats a huge saving over the course of the year (about $3,000). The selection here is much more limited of course, but that makes shopping a lot faster and easier really. Now we just go to a "normal" grocery store if we are after a particular ingredient that Aldi doesn't carry. Some things here I don't care for, like their frozen seafood. The things that they do very well (that we've been using regularly) are: eggs, milk, yogurt, lettuce, avocados, cherry tomatoes, onions, apples, carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, tortillas, clementines, hummus, cheese, nuts, salsa, broth, bread, chicken breasts, frozen veggies and fruit, crackers, and chips.

There's one lady that follows people around in the health and beauty section until they leave it or she convinces them to buy something so I try to avoid shopping when she's working, but everyone else is lovely. The pharmacy, I beg of you go literally anywhere else because they're wildly incompetent. My husband, like most Americans who do not work in healthcare or haven't cared for a chronically ill family member, is somewhat healthcare illiterate and placed his trust (unfortunately) in this pharmacy team. Our 7 y/o has the sniffles so he came into the store asking for Children's Sudafed (the real stuff, not the phenylephrine you can get from the regular aisles.) He was "helped" by Nichole who asked how old his baby was (since when is that age measured in YEARS) and after staring blankly at a shelf of medications, asked someone else for help. The person she asked for help NEVER came to speak to my husband but handed a box of pills to Nichole. My husband didn't even think to verify if it was pills or liquid because *Children's* Sudafed doesn't come in pills. We promptly returned to the store to return the incorrect medication we were sold and the person Nichole asked for help was, disturbingly enough, the pharmacy manager Honorine! Honorine proceeded to snap at us that my husband didn't specify liquid and seemed quite irritated that we were upset with HER med error. Marieta was pleasant in helping us and attempting to process our refund but when she could not, Honorine was called over and SHE had no idea what to do. If someone is a manager, you'd think they'd be able to handle a refund but Honorine continued to display her knowledge deficiency and impatience and had to call a key holder from the front end to handle the refund. Hannah arrived promptly and handled the return well with Marieta. If either Honorine or Nichole had simply said "Sorry, we don't carry/are out of stock/don't have Children's Sudafed," my husband and I could have moved in to another store but they were so greedy to make an unnecessary sale, they wasted everyone's time and energy while demonstrating a gross unprofessional conduct and ineptitude along the way. Thousands of fatal medication errors occur in the US annually and millions of non-fatal errors occur every month--I wonder how many come from this pharmacy. TLDR: Giant's great overall but I'd sooner drive to another state than EVER trust their pharmacy again, even with the simplest transactions. Of note, while some children as young as five or six can take pills with some coaching, it has not gone well with my child in the past and especially when she's got a sore throat, it would have been a lost cause.
