I recently purchased and picked up a Christmas gift at this Dick's. It's only the second time I've…read morebeen here, and first in years. While the store is well stocked with helpful and professional folks it's just a personal decision that I choose not to patronize the Dick's stores due to, in my opinion, bad corporate decision making. Again, a personal belief that public companies should maintain political neutrality and avoid the adoption of woke policies, and focus instead on their primary objective of providing valuable products and services to customers. It appears that I'm far from the only one who feels this way but it shouldn't come as a surprise because at company adopting controversial and divisive policies should know that they likely run the risk of alienating a significant portion of their customer base. It's probably the case since Dick's continues to drop in profitability due to the nature of policies the company either directly or indirectly supported. Don't get me wrong, free speech is vital regardless, and free trade and business should always be protected. I'm just personally ticked at any company, regardless of politics or beliefs, who feel it necessary to implement, in my opinion, stupid policies on their customers and employees. Common sense dictates that maintaining political neutrality best allows companies to focus on serving all customers, regardless of their personal beliefs, and ensures that they do not lose business due to divisive politics. Bottom line: If companies are truly committed to addressing social issues, they should focus on substantive actions, such as improving working conditions, investing in education and training programs, or contributing to local community initiatives.

I love DICK'S Sporting Goods, but this location isn't AS big as the one I'm used to shopping at in…read moreColorado. They don't carry many of the same brands, or as many options of them, in store. Their selection for The North Face, Patagonia, etc. is minimal. However, every time I come to this location, staff are friendly and the store is clean. If I happen to need assistance, someone is willing to help. Thankfully they carry a nice selection of workout apparel, including Nike, Under Armour, CALIA, and their very own DSG brand. They also have a nice variety of sport-specific gear-- baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc. They offer leisure and/or sport equipment, such as for cycling, hiking, indoor exercise/training, fishing, hunting, etc. Their shoe department is sufficient, but it isn't extensive. They offer the major shoe brands for running, walking, training, and lifestyle use, but you're not going to find A TON of styles for each; it isn't a SHOE store with that kind of inventory. But it's nice to see what you can get in-store, or if the store can order something for you from their website (dickssportinggoods.com). I love HIIT workouts at OTF and I enjoy sports and being outdoors, so this store is my little slice of heaven for meeting all my sport-related needs!

Metzger's has been the preferred choice for fine men's and women's clothing since 1919. As a family owned business they remember their customers and strive to make the shopping experience comfortable, low pressure, and so that you really feel good about the way you look. Metzler's is located off of Dauphin Street, on the service road in front of the shopping center that holds Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Dumbwaiter and Jos A Bank. The store seems to share a parking lot with a bank, however there is always ample parking and ease of store access. The lot is clean and secure as well as allows for a minimum of traffic buildup along that busy stretch of service road. The store is always well stocked, clean, and possesses plenty of staff to be able to serve the needs of their customers. Its well lit, and is separated right down the middle men's and women's. Stocking the latest in southern professional and casual styles, they have Hart Schaffner and Marx, Adolfo, Chaps suits and sport coats in all sizes. However if its a special occasion and some planning, they can custom order and make you one! While they don't rent tuxedos, they also do custom fit Tails and tux's for Mardi Gras balls or whatever special occasion it may be. As a locally owned, family business, they do business with others in the area. Metzger's has bow ties from a southern company that makes handcrafted bow ties with peacock feathers, and deer bones etc in them. They also stock shirts and trousers out of a company in Dothan, and show the environmentally conscience side by stocking, Save the Duck alternative down jackets etc. They also have the latest in "prep" wear, Southern Proper, North Face, Ducks Head, etc. It doesn't stop there, they can also get you a new shaving kit, cologne, aftershave, shampoo conditioner etc. They also have a great selection of men's accessories, cufflinks, shirt stays, suspenders, etc. The staff is what caps off this Mobile fashion Icon, they are some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable guys around. Alan and Paul have been my primary contacts there and I have never been more impressed with a clothing store staff. They genuinely make me feel as if they care, and even steer me away from things that maybe don't look the best. They understand southern men's fashion and will push you as far as comfortable outside of your normal fashion box, or simply find you that next go to shirt or power tie. The tailoring done is done in house and is complimentary for the lifetime of a purchase and I must say, they are exceptionally good at it. All in all, they are my fashion go to, and without a doubt I have absolutely no hesitation about recommending them to anyone who needs that new suit, short, sport coat or even tailgate apparel. They have great team shirts and seem to have something to fit any and every occasion.
