He took the time to get us both fitted even though it was technically after hours. Turns out he had been on the same hike we had planned and gave us some good tips. I saw this store when I was on my way to the cupcake bakery that is a door or two away. So, after eating my cupcake, I went to this store and saw that they did indeed have the shoes that I was interested in. I walked over to look at them and a worker was there in a minute or so. He was very knowledgeable about the shoes. He was more knowledgeable than just about any person that has ever sold me shoes. Although, I would suppose that a person would have to be quite informed when it comes to such an unusual product. He brought me out a pair to try on, and the rest is history. He said that it usually is a struggle for people to get them on their feet the very first time that they try, and that it usually takes quite a while. He said that he has never seen anybody get them on as fast as me. Being the competitive person that I am, I was smiling internally. Overall, my shopping experience was superb. All of the workers were nice and knowledgeable about everything that we asked about. I would go back if I am ever in need of another pair of toe shoes.

One of the associates drove me crazy, talking loudly and following me around. I think her name was Jan or Janice? Why would I want to shop in a store like that? Joe in the shoe department always gets me the right shoe on the first try, and takes into account my plantar fasciitis and other foot issues I have had over the years. The guys in the firearms section are very knowledgeable, are seasoned experienced shooters themselves, and are willing to talk through my needs to find me the right gun in the price range I choose. I get to handle the guns, if I want to try out the grip, sights, or the trigger. They have provided me with more than a few shotguns, rifles, and pistols over the years, and all have been good choices at competitive prices. I highly recommend McCoy's. I have never been treated poorly by anyone there. The owner is highly regarded by the employees as well.

While walking through downtown Mobile, we ran across this wonderful sports apparel store. Obviously…read morethey sell more SEC gear than anything but they have tons of professional sports jerseys, accessories, etc. The best part of my visit was Bear (the owners black lab). Bear followed us around the store showing us his favorite things - which as you may have guessed by his name, it was all Crimson Tide gear! Bear was so pleasant and his owner was just as kind. Very very helpful. If he doesn't own the store, he sure treats it like his own which is everything you'd want in an employee. I ended up buying some new gear for my dad for Father's Day. A hat and a shirt ran me about $80. I thought that was steep but unless there's a coupon or sale offered online, you'll pay the same. We'd also like to support small businesses anyways so this was a no brainer purchase. Great variety and many things I've never seen before that I'd love to have. I'll definitely make sure to visit The Vault for my game day apparel next time I'm in Mobile.
