After explaining to Josh that I was able get the pilot light to stay on and after he inspected my water heater, he recommended that I wait and see if the pilot light goes out again. If it does, it is more than likely a pilot light control (thermocouple) issue. At that time I could have the thermocouple replaced and be good to go!
