Unlike everywhere else, A-1 understood exactly what I needed. On the day of my appointment they took my car exactly on time and immediately got to work. How often does that happen these days? As I waited, I looked around. Their store, the parking lot, AND their shop is immaculate. Every tool in their shop has a designated spot. I was in industrial operations for 20 years, and I can tell you that when a place is as well organized and maintained as this, it is extremely well run. That's why I was immediately met for service on time, and finished within 40 minutes. The price was good as well.

At no time when we spoke to the owner did he mention any costs to diagnose the vehicle or a charge to have his mechanic look at the vehicle. I noticed that on Google Reviews the owner mentions that the cost to diagnose a vehicle is $79.95. Ok, we would have agreed to that if he told us that. However after two and a half weeks with no work being done (his mechanic had a family emergency) on the vehicle we needed to take it somewhere else to get it fixed as we couldn't wait any longer. However, when we went to get the keys to the vehicle and have it TOWED AGAIN, the owner tells us we owed him $250!!!!! NO WORK WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE!!! He claims his mechanic spent two hours on the car, but yet the only things listed on the invoice are error codes that you get when you hook the car up to a diagnosis computer. THAT TAKES 2 HOURS???? After arguing with him he went down on the price to $150. AGAIN, NO WORK WAS DONE ON THIS VEHICLE. So how does this owner charge one person $79.95 for a diagnosis and then charge us $150 (originally $250)???? This owner is a scammer. Beware!

Time passed and I never found the time to get to it. The rear brakes started making noise so I decided just to take it in. I told them I had the brake parts and the lady on the phone said they could not warranty it if they used outside parts and I said fine, that's OK and made the appointment. I showed up the day of my appointment and brought someone to give me a ride home. When I told them I had the brake parts they told me "we don't install outside parts" . If they had told me that on the phone I would not have wasted everybody's time. I went to Carpenters automotive instead and they had no problems doing the work.

Instead of trying to work with me or explain the process clearly, they made everything harder and more stressful than it needed to be. The lack of respect and transparency here is unbelievable. We called at least 10 businesses trying to get help without success. This man came out, removed the wheel, took it to his shop and replaced the tire so that we still had a spare, and put the wheel back on. The price he charged for the tire was the same as we usually pay and the service call was totally reasonable. He was pleasant and polite. We are both in our 70's and changing this in 90+ degree heat was not an option. If he had not come out, our only option would be a huge towing fee to pull the trailer to a shop. It was proof that compassionate, ethical and competent people still exist.
