It also offers sweet crepes (£4) and waffles. So I got one with ham, onion and egg and my wife opted for ham and onion. We also ordered a flat white and a cappuccino at £2.4 each. The coffees were very good too so no downsides on food, food quality, food portions, temperature and great service. It Audi has soups, toasties, sandwiches and panini. I paid on ordering which meant when we were done we could just up and go. This place has only one downside, it's a small, and narrow place inside with only two tables, with most seating on stools. It's also an ice cream parlour and a sweet shop. There's a large choice of ice cream cones to choose from too. The ice cream is Morelli's, which I can't say I've ever had, and the vivid colours put me off - they have to be artificial. They did have a pooh bear equivalent (I'm a Mauds pooh bear honeycomb fan) but really I couldn't get beyond that blue colouring.

We joked a bit about the steep stair climb up to dine; the welcome was warm and the menus awaited us. It was two courses on their early-bird menu (£19.95) and early dining suits us. We also dine around and chose here as a new place to try out. The first challenge we faced was could we make it main and dessert rather than starter/main - we could - so the next challenge was choosing dessert as most of us wanted every dessert on the slate. We got to try some of their wheaten bread and it tasted superb. I think they sell the loaves. Two of us opted for vegetarian pasta which had great taste, but the spinach marred my dish; I found it chewed down into a ball and became an unpleasant eat. Might be worth swapping to basil. If I had the dish again I'd leave it off. Most of the others opted for their club sandwich main topped with fried egg and one had fish & chips: all declared their food very good. Why is it a club sandwich well it's Chicken and Lettuce Under Bacon. Desserts were delicious; the Eton Mess was the favourite choice. I had the creme brulee instead and I enjoyed it immensely, but the shortbread on the side wasn't my taste. I like it buttery, melting. My guess is it's not made with butter. The truth of it is that almost everything here is so very good that you become critical of the parts that aren't just as top notch. We finished with cappuccino and lattes and one tea but again I had a great cappuccino on arrival that carried me through to departure. We had arrived early and were delighted to see that the restaurant picked up and the atmosphere was great; despite becoming real busy with happy diners the wait staff remained completely attentive to our needs. I particularly enjoy the large vol-au-vents they do, and I often pop in to see if they have any in, but unfurtunately one of the problems with Hedley's is, they don't have a great range, so I imagine you have to be in quite early to get a decent selection. I also tried one of their pre-packaged sanwiches, which was ham and cheese on brown bread, and it was not far off being inedible, the bread was dry and the ham and cheese were of poor quality, but I was pretty hungry and it did the job.

It's a cheap and cheerful UK headquartered industrial bakery that offers high fat, high salt, high sugar savoury and sweet foods. It also nods to health with some salads and healthy drinks. They offer a breakfast deal of coffee and sausage, bacon or egg bread rolls. The basic price for a cappuccino and bacon roll with your choice of HP or Heinz tomato sauce is a stonking £2. You can add sausage and or egg to the bacon roll for a pound or so more. In short the best deal in town. There's a baguette breakfast deal that's £3. I've had quite a few so far as it's hard to refuse such a darn good deal. The servers are always a friendly bunch and I've got Greggs app which makes paying hassle free. I've not done lunch here and I doubt I will. Cheap and cheerful is ok at brekky.

Banbridge was the next town on our route, so we drove down the main drag and happened upon Rosehip Cafe. The bakery was lively, with many local families picking up delicious treats and snacks. We walked to the back to the cafe area, and ordered paninis and soup. We didn't know when we ordered, but the soup came with fresh, fluffy rolls. Even though we had ordered sandwiches, we ended up eating the rolls too because they were so tasty! The paninis were standard compared to others we had in Ireland, but the soup really was exceptional. I had the chicken and vegetable, and it reminded me of home. I took most of my panini to go. Service was quick and friendly. One star off because the restrooms were a little messy. There was a sign that said to alert the staff if they were not up to par, but it didn't look like that had happened while I was there. So many of the pastries and bars at the bakery looked delicious, but I refrained. If I'm ever back, I'll indulge. :)
