Now you only offer a small playscape? That thing gets packed and my kids are always having to deal with the other kids' poor behavior (which most of the time ends up in someone getting hurt). Gold's gym had more to offer for less money. Unless you HAVE to have some form of childcare or you have your kids in sports here... just go somewhere else. I wish this wasn't the truth. I was beyond excited when it was being built I was literally waiting for it to open to get a membership. I will say one thing... as a majority the staff is always positive and puts a smile on your face.

When I signed up, there was a promotion going on and the referring member never received what was promised. I forgave that, but it's not how you should do business. Incident number 2 -- I was sent out of the country and needed to pause my member, which is a great feature of OTF. However, I called the Lakeway studio no less than 3 times, leaving messages. None were ever returned. #FRUSTRATING and a loss of money for me. Incident number 3 - I moved from Austin area. Called twice. Of course, for a second time, my initial message was not returned. When I did reach someone (I think her name was Courtney) she was HORRID. I very nicely explained the situation and that I needed to cancel my membership do to moving. She said that she couldn't do that on the phone and that I had to come into the studio. I stated that I couldn't do that as I was no longer in Austin. She said I was being 'hostile.' WTF. I most certainly was not being hostile in any manner. She did go on to process my request while I was on the phone -- sending me a DocuSign. Something she just said she couldn't do. She was not polite nor was she professional during the entire process. Incident number 4 - raised prices even though I was locked into an evergreen price. #NotCool. Overall, I love OTF. Great coaches. Great programs. Great system. I love going to all the OTFs across the country, but NOT the one in Lakeway. #Unprofessional #Rude #Unkind are the nicer words of how I would describe Lakeway. Great location. Nice members. Before joining, my routine was all cardio with zero strength training. Watching my mom decline in her 70s was a wake-up call; I realized I needed to build real strength and stay functional as I age. When I started, I was weak, but now I'm dramatically stronger, move with better ease and confidence, and even look and feel better overall. The trainers here are outstanding--each brings their own unique style, which keeps every session fresh and exciting. They always check in to see if there's anything specific you'd like to focus on or avoid, making the experience truly personalized. I can't recommend Body20 enough. I've generally enjoyed working out at this very filthy Gold's Gym, but I'm disappointed by the way…read moremanagement handles the side door used for the fitness class for only 12 people. An entire gym upstairs downstairs filled with people that's hot, humid, and they leave the door open for 12 people??? The door is always left open during a fitness class for an hour, even during the Texas summer when outdoor air quality is poor due to Mexico smoke and African dust. Keeping the door open allows hot, humid outside air to circulate through the gym, making workouts less comfortable and, in my experience, bringing outdoor air into the facility. I politely asked the staff if they could keep the door closed, but my request was swiftly and rudely declined. It seems like a simple change that could help maintain a cooler, more comfortable indoor environment while reducing the amount of outside air entering the gym during poor air quality events. -DIRTY GYM -RUDE MANAGING -HOT, HUMID AIR I want CORPORATE to change this practice and put members' comfort first since the MANAGER refuses. Crunch fitness is opening up out here so I will see what the air temperature control protocol is there.
