I stopped in to pick up lunch to take home. There was a bright young lady waiting to take my order. There was a menu above her and no one behind me, so I took a minute to choose. I got a French bread pizza with pepperoni. It was ready in just a few minutes. The packaging is bare minimum, just a foil wrap, but it works. My food was still warm as I opened it 15 minutes later. The bread was soft, the pepperoni slightly spicy, and the sauce and cheese were fine. The parking lot is still janky, and it takes a lot to make a left turn to exit, but if youre in the mood for classic bar type food, this hit the spot! read more

Wow. Typically go to the Ruma's in Covington Manor but came to the Imperial store today instead. All I will say is what a BEACH taking orders. Went to the counter to order...no greeting. When she was ready to take my order just stared at me. Placed my order and honestly had no idea what she said to me because of mumbling. Hope the sandwich is at least good. read more

My wife ordered through the website at 5:50, said it would be ready at 6:30. I went to pick it up through the drivethru and apparently it didn't go through to their computer, mind you it was already paid for and I had been sitting in the drivethru for 15 min. Had to open the window by hand and ask where my food was. She said they were having problems with their computer. I told her I was going to come inside and see what was going on. By this time it was 7:05. I asked to speak with a manager and eventually someone came out. He said he had to call his boss to be able to give me a refund. The phones were ringing off the hook and they were still taking orders. Two tables in the restaurant with people waiting and another guy had been waiting since 6. No one had their food. Eventually another guy came out and talked to someone on the phone (possibly the owner) that said they would refund the money. Absolutely ridiculous, very unorganized, and complete chaos in there. Terrible food and service. Ordered a large "Prosperity". The menu listed "gravy" so I requested no gravy, the clerk suggested getting it on the side. I agreed. The girl returned to the counter and said they were out of large rolls, she would check on the roast beef and if they had small rolls. She returned and said they could sell small sandwiches, which is good because it is a sandwich shop. I waited 10 to 15 minutes while three people moved back and forth in the kitchen. I was the only customer. I was given a brown bag and I left. When I got home I opened the bag to find a soggy (apparently it was drowned in the gravy) open face hoggie with toothpicks holding the top of it off the bag. Apparently, no Togo packaging. I couldn't decide what I wanted for take out and decided on Ruma's bc I don't often order here. Tonight's food made me wonder why I don't more often. I ordered the baked mostaccioli with meatballs, manicotti and a prosperity sandwich (roast beef with gravy on cheese garlic bread- served open faced). The portions for the price were large. I ordered online and it was ready right when they said it would be. The baked pasta was everything you want a baked pasta to be- cheesy, saucy and comforting. The sauce is a little on the sweeter side, but I don't like sweet sauces and I liked this one. The sandwich was perfect. I love the roast beef w/ gravy, provel and garlic bread combo and they do it well. I ordered manicotti for my daughter to have when she gets home from work, but of course I had to try a bit. The blend of the ricotta with the tomato sauce was so good. I do wish the sauce didn't have meat on the manicotti but that's ok. We will def be ordering more often...and I'm sure my husband will finish all the leftovers tomorrow. read more

This is the second time in 6 months I have order a pickup order and the service has yet been terrible again. 1st time I ordered I ordered a Gerber sandwich and received a Gerber pizza. This time I waited 40 mins only to ask again regard my order and the cashier asked the cooks in the back and they had placed my order up on top of the ovens that had been sitting there when I first arrived and checked in and cashier laughs and says atleast it was by the ovens it should be warm sets the bag on the counter and walks away. I am assuming that a bunch of morans work there as I am not the only negative post. I will never and will also inform everyone I know to not go there. read more

This place wants to charge for everything! I've never once heard of a place who charges for an ice water. I ordered 3 small sandwiches and 3 bags of chips and 3 ice waters (not the regular cups, the tiny plastic ones) and it was over $32! $2 per sandwich to add cheese!! We ordered 2 sandwiches; one Blt and one large turkey with the turkey taken off and replaced with salami and pepperoni at an extra charge I was not made aware of on the phone and two orders of fries and it cost 30.98. And we picked it up. When I called to question the amount today I was told the costs on the online menu were not accurate, which is crap. If you buy something at any store that is marked with the wrong price they sell it to you at the price it's marked. And by the way the food was awful. read more

Please Read! Only giving them 1 star because I can't select 0 stars. I went to this location, ordered 4 items. Only 1 came out right. I should have known this would not go good when she read back my turkey sandwich with tomato's, jalapeños and light mustard, as turkey with extra mustard and pepperoncinis! Ok, so I ordered a salami sandwich with pepper jack and mustard, instead I got salami, ham and provel. Next I ordered a turkey with tomato's and jalapeños, instead I got a turkey with provel, tomato's and pepperoncinis. Finally, a kids pepperoni pizza came out as an open faced turkey sandwich. To top it off, I was overcharged, paying for things I didn't even order! When I spoke to who I assumed was the manager, I repeated my order only to be told: we don't carry salami sandwiches, we don't carry pepper jack cheese, we don't carry jalapeños. Why was I able to order it?! The manager told me I probably had pepperoncinis on my sandwich because they don't carry jalapeños.....what!? After asking for a refund, the manager then got an attitude with me, throwing the tray off to the side stating "people make mistakes!' Which I understand; however, 3 of my 4 items were wrong, I was overcharged and was allowed to order items they don't even carry! I guess they were really trying to get rid of the provel, it came on all the sandwiches they tried to give me, even the sandwiches I never ordered. Well another nail in the meal coffin of my youth. I formally went to rumas on many different locations around the stl. Many years ago, so coming home from a short adventure i came across a deli unbelievable luck! turned in my mouth watering to come into a dirty dining room not 1 clean table and they weren't busy the soda fountain was draining into a bucket from its front. I ordered anyway well i didnt get sick but thats about it warm sandwich was cold and tasteless bread was ok but not toasted. Restrooms were less than clean, Just a mess, staff was polite but seemed untrained and slightly indifferent to doing their job well thats about it. read more

Ruma's has been around for a very long time, it was a place to hang out as a teen, and still to this day I find myself walking into the same Ruma's I did as a teen, and still getting satisfied with my experience. several years ago they opened this location, and at the time I was disappointed since I was living in the city at the time. I have since moved out of the city and find that this location is a lot closer for me to visit. This Ruma's like the original location, still offers that same satisfying experience I had as a kid eating Ruma's. The Gerber is their classic sandwich, and has been my favorite for all these years. i find that ordering it "well done" brings the most satisfying results. unfortunately in all the years I have eaten Ruma's, I really haven't strayed too much away from my favorite sandwich other than a few times. The restaurant is in a great location, right off the highway with very easy access. and the place is very clean, and the service as minimal as it is, is very nice. once you order your food the wait isn't very long at all, and they always bring it out to you, which is a nice touch even in a small fast food deli such as this. I've heard of bad experiences with Ruma's from others, but simple actions like checking your order before leaving the restaurant will eliminate most aggravations and issues, well that along with a little bit of patience of course.. Is Ruma's fine dining? no, its a family owned pseudo fast food deli, built on quality and taste. If I have spent most of life eating sandwiches from this restaurant, there must be something there bringing me back all these years, maybe its the feeling of being satisfied by the hot sandwich I just happily consumed, this time and every other time... you get my vote Ruma's! read more

I have taken my dog, Buddy, to Mastadon Park numerous times. Usually, I stop at jack in the box for lunch. I feel bad leaving my dog in the car. I decided to stop at Ruma's Deli in Imperial for lunch. it was not a vey hot day so i decided to go ahead and eat lunch inside. I got the small Gerber. It wasawesome. The Gerber is garlic bread, shaved ham, and melted provel cheese. The service was quick and friendly. i was in and out in 30 min. I will definately keep Ruma's in mind when i want a quick affordable meal. read more

As a child i remember going with my mother and grandmother on occasion to get a Gerber when we would be out and about and I was happy when I learned that there would be one build close to my house. So, the other day I was out running around and decided to get me some lunch to soothe the beast in my belly and ended up getting a turkey Gerber, which I hadn't even knew existed until I walked in and boy was I NOT disappointed at all! We love the food at Rumas Deli but for some reason this franchises are poorly ran. I guess that is why there is only a few left. We have had a couple bad experiences with this location in Imperial MO. It was taken over by new owners or management and thought or hoping it would be better. Today I called at 5:27pm on Sunday and they close at 6pm. I tried to order 2 baked moschollis and 2 gerbers. They said they are selling only gerbers and cheese curds because it was too close to closing time. So why don't you post that you stop taking orders at 5:30? I've been a fan of Ruma's Deli since the early 80's. Having said that, I was seriously disappointed in the Reuben I received with a recent order. The quality was of the sandwich itself was hard to gauge because the total amount of meat and sauerkraut included was embarrassing. Together, they were barely a milimeter thick. As thin as this combo was, I had to check to see if they even put any sauerkraut on the sandwich at all. They did...but I wouldn't swear to it in court. I'm not saying they have to slather meat and sauerkraut a mile high....I just wish they would do a better job of making sure that the item isn't indistinguishable from an overpriced gas station sandwich someone grabs from a hot plate. read more

I heard good things about this place but I have to disagree. I'm not big on provel cheese and it's on everything. I don't like that toothpaste texture sticking to the roof of my mouth. Gross! When meeting with our church group over a year ago, they ordered Rumas, and we liked it. When I saw they had a Groupon out for the Imperial location, I bought it even though I couldn't remember what we had liked there and had thought it was a burger. However, when we went to order, they didn't have burgers, but sandwiches. I went with the Meatball Sandwich, and my boyfriend went with the Prosperity. We also ordered Bosco Sticks. Everything was great. Nothing so exceptional to make it a 5 star favorite, but we will definitely go back. The meatballs were big and juicy in yummy marinara, and the Prosperity made for a yummy mix of flavors. We have had Bosco Sticks in many places, and these were exactly what we wanted. Overall, Ruma's is not a MUST go, but if you're looking for a quick yummy lunch in the area, it'll make you happier than fast food. read more
