This place isn't for everyone. If you choose price over quality, you'll think it's ridiculously…read moreoverpriced. If you don't value the difference between well-prepared food and bad, you'll also balk. My in-laws would have hated it: "They want me to pay $11 for three eggs, bacon, home fries and toast?!?! I can get a dozen eggs for $2.50 and a pound of bacon for $3.50 at Aldis..." My sister thinks of food as fuel. She's fine with breakfast at McDonalds, or whatever diner is closest to where she's staying. She'll also microwave a can of hash and a frozen omelet. Her husband is always dieting; he'd say the portions are too big. If you like to eat-- and you care about what you eat-- Southside diner is pretty wonderful. Everything is made from scratch. Portions are large. The recipes are flavorful and uniquely spiced (even the coffee is from a local roaster). This has positives and negatives; you might or might not agree with the decisions made in a recipe. For example, the "breakfast tacos" contain fried eggs, chorizo, red onion, pepper jack cheese, pineapple, chipotle sauce & cilantro (the last one means I can't touch it-- cilantro tastes like soap to me). On the other hand, I love their take on corned beef hash. Also, if this matters (not everyone cares) the pancake batter is different than the waffle batter. Because the kitchen is enormously busy, they get enough practice with unusual orders that they can deliver many things other diners whiff on. Like your eggs over medium or poached? No problem. They know how to make hollandaise, too. We enjoy having breakfast, so we can't speak to the burgers or salads. The four soups we've tried have all been good-to excellent. We often get a sandwich or two to go. The things that cost them a star : They're almost always really busy, so it can be difficult attracting the attention of a server is you need something, or something went wrong. The buttering of the toast is erratic. And, while I understand the need to make a profit, the cost of some of the add-one are high. 75 cents to add onions (not grilled) to an omelet? $3 to add blueberries or chocolate chips to your pancakes? Ouch (Strawberries or bananas I get.) It's still worth the trip. And the cost.

Heading to Milwaukee and after some research while in the nearby rest stop on I80, we decided to…read moredivert here for lunch. We were very glad that we chose Creekside - the service was super friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend had the lunch portion of the pecan chicken and found it to be a generous amount - they allowed her to sub in different sides too. I had the Philly wrap with regular fries and enjoyed it - a little bit of spice from the peppers. Price was decent for a good quality lunch, a nice view and friendly service.

We sat in the bar area as we didn't have a reservation on a busy Saturday night but we didn't have to wait at all! Our server Jack gave excellent recommendations with fast and friendly service! The whiskey glaze was so light on the salmon for the perfect touch of sweetness, not like those heavy syrupy glazes at some restaurants. I was able to substitute one of my sides for green beans that were cooked and seasoned perfectly! The short ribs were fork tender and bursting with flavor. We will absolutely be back! I definitely will make a reservation to have a water view next time! Plenty of parking available in the shared lot. I really hate leaving reviews less than 4 stars, much less giving a place only 2 stars, but I…read morereally did not like my experience getting a "quick" dinner here recently before going to see a movie at the nearby Cinemark. I can see why no one else was in the restaurant when we were even though it was dinner time on a Friday. The lady taking our order answered her freaking phone in the middle of my order so I just had to stand there and wait. Wtf? The kitchen and prep area was messy and food scraps were everywhere. The soups all had a film on them too. I got the half turkey bacon club and a tiny cup of chili in the you pick two "deal." (LOL this ain't no deal!). The soup was way too hot. They need to turn down the burners. The sandwich was okay - probably one of the best options on their menu. The bread was quite good. However, they also didn't add mustard to my sandwich like I had asked for. There definitely was a language barrier, but I mean, come on. At least try to be nice to me! The price for what we got was outstandingly bad. It was even worse than Panera! I guess I would rate this Zeats location a 3.5 for food and 1.5 for service. On the bright side, I still had room in my stomach to get popcorn at the theater afterwards...
