They have a large frozen section with things such as chicken patties, curly fries, bosco sticks etc. They also have a deli where you can find several varieties of cheeses and meats that are cut to your specific order. You just need to fill out a card with your name and order and put it in the box and the workers will get your stuff ready as you do the rest of your shopping. You will find a lot of bulk items here that they have packaged into smaller more useful quantities. They have homemade noodles in varying degrees of sizes as well as homemade bread from a local bakery. They have also started carrying homemade donuts from a local bakery as well but did not have any available the day I was there so if donuts is what you're coming for you may want to check and make sure they have some. There are a few shelves with all natural products such as vitamins and herbs. You'll also find things like socks, underwear and kids toys. Truly a variety store! This place is located in the heart of Amish country and so outside you'll notice a large hitching rack for tying the horse and buggies to. They also have a decent sized parking lot for cars as well. Overall this is a nice little store with pretty much anything you'd ever hope to want and is a nice place to check out if you're ever in the area.

So 5 starts is not giving because of lack of other choices. Second, the employees in this liston are by far an awesome bunch of people. I've worked customer service enough over the years to know it's too easy to just not care and barely do the bare minimum and the majority of those who work here are far from that - I'm referring to 99.5% of the employees. Third, too often you see managers so afraid to do what is right or stand up for their customers and employees because someone might get riled up and demand they are right. These managers take care of their customers abs their employees. That's not to say that if there was a problem, they wouldn't do all they could to remedy it, but they will not allow customers or employees to be mistreated or put at risk due to entitled people throwing what amounts to a tantrum to get their way. And finally, I have a special needs child and knowing that she's treated with respect and care whenever we go in is a blessing in so many ways. Too often we're treated like we've brought a circus freak into public or must be horrible parents because our child doesn't confirm to what they believe the perfect child is.

They will even custom butcher livestock you bring it to them, for a nominal fee. Merkley's is also a throwback for grocery shopping. It's not just going to the mega mart and picking up random bits on styrofoam trays, covered in cellophane. You can talk to the butcher, ask for recommendations and opinions. They'll gladly tell you all you need to know. First, go to Walmart. Buy the biggest cooler you can fit in your car. And get down to Merkley and Son's. You should also get ice, but they will give you a bag of ice if you ask nicely. Oh, and finally, and get a box of wheat thins. It's for the ham salad. They make their own ham salad in house and in my humble opinion, it's worth the trip all by itself.
