Not just a pharmacy, a huge gift shop! We got grandma a little "sleeping cat" made in China and…read morecovered in REAL rabbit fur! She was very excited because it looked Siamese and reminded her of a cat she and her husband had several years ago. They don't sell those at CVS (down the street). They stock a variety of generics and name brands and the drug section was easy to find. Nice people, tons of gifts of all varieties, including gifts for little kids.

My boyfriend had gotten his wisdom teeth removed today and was in a lot of pain. We went to CVS…read morefirst to try to get a couple of prescriptions the dentist wrote filled. After waiting several minutes one of the pharm techs told us the insurance card was not going through even though we had just used it at the oral surgeon's office. He explain that it may have worked there but it was not going through with the pharmacy. We took the prescriptions back and went to McKay's. Dr. McKay explained that if we had that problem at CVS it will be the same problem on his computer, which it was. However, he went into further detail explaining to us that we were having this problem because the insurance card was not up to date and that some of the numbers were different. This was something the CVS pharm techs did not explain to us. Dr. McKay continued typing away on his computer trying to figure out a way to help us. Eventually he worked his magic and figured something out to help the insurance go through. Big thanks!

I have to start by saying this is the absolute worst CVS pharmacy I have ever been to in my entire…read morelife. The people working behind the counter are straight up rude and have their air pods in while speaking with customers. It is always a frustrating task to go and pick up my prescriptions. My psychiatrist sends my prescription to the pharmacy, and I went to go pick it up. I got the notification on my phone that the prescription was sent in, so when I got there, they told me it was too soon. I was confused on what they were talking about, but then I asked her what she meant. They were talking about a completely different prescription... like hello? I got told it was put on "hold" which happens way to frequently there. So of course, I walk over to the other side to talk to another lady. She just stood there and looked at me blankly. My patience was decreasing by the second. So, I state my case and she just says, " I do not see that anywhere." When I say her eyes were rolling, I mean rollinggg. I then call my psychiatrist and tell her what was going on, she then calls CVS and the lady behind the counter was appalled. I ended up getting my medication, but damn this CVS is at my last straw.

It's just an old run down store that is convenient to the downtown area. The pharmacy is upstairs…read moreand other items downstairs. It's not horrible but definitely showing its age. The whole store needs a good cleaning and new fixtures or something to spruce it up

I would like to begin with saying I literally do not think I have ever written any type of "review"…read moreon anyone or anything before because it's just not my thing and I am very empathic to anyone and anything, to a fault. However, I will NOT let go or be "empathic" about how I was treated today by a pharmacist named, William Gutgsell, at the Washington, Indiana pharmacy on highway 57. I'm going to cut to the chase and be specific with the details. My grandmother, whom like most of my family lives out of state, passed away yesterday. I'm heartbroken and have to take off to another state, as well as, wrap up all of my necessities and responsibilities I have set for myself in the coming week up in just about a day. OF COURSE my prescriptions are due to be refilled during the week I am going to be mourning my grandma. I am completely aware of the necessary guidelines and safety regulations that come with giving a patient their prescription 5 days earlier than it's due, that knowledge also includes insurance issues and stimulations with certain medications. Knowing all of these things, I took it upon myself to contact my doctor AND my insurance to get the okay from the professionals they are. When the pharmacist FINALLY agreed to fill my medication, William, not only refused to speak to me directly but lied about consulting with my insurance and insisted I pay 80 dollars because my insurance denied the coverage. Now at this point I have ATLEAST 5 cars behind me in line, because of the polite and respectful person I ALWAYS AM I didn't want to waste any more of their time because of this pharmacy's unprofessionalism, so I paid the 80.43 and drove off. This is not the first time I have tried to retrieve my medication and the pharmacist's act like I'm doing something wrong. IT LITERALLY SAYS ON THE SIGN TO CALL TWO DAYS BEFORE. I have taken my business elsewhere and I encourage you to as well. It is clear through the way you are treated by everyone in the pharmacy that they have no place in the health care/ customer service business due to the lack of empathy and insensitivity presented during each phone call/ encounter.

So I just wanted to write a good review from a former employee that worked there for 11 years. I…read moreunderstand some of the frustration of customers, but most times it is coming from a viewpoint of someone who has never been behind the counter. Corporations such as CVS do not care about their employees. This results in cutting of hours so drastically that when they need at least 4-5 technicians in the pharmacy to run it smoothly, they allow 1 on Wednesdays through Sundays, and only 2 on Mondays and Tuesdays. This results in over worked employees who are literally not able to do anything most times but just help customers. This means that the technician that is expected to fill your prescription is also the one who is supposed to get the drive thru, help the persons dropping off new prescriptions, fix insurance claims, fix problems that have come up at the register, or that have come up with your prescription, input new prescriptions that are being faxed in by the doctor, and the list goes on...not to mention when your printer runs out of paper, or the fact that the phone is ringing off the hook...this one technician is not able to do all of these things in a timely manner. Someone in the corporate office, who is looking at a piece of paper, thinks that the pharmacy isn't busy enough to have more than a couple technicians in the pharmacy at all times. This is absolutely ridiculous. Many customers think that its because no one wants to work...no there are plenty of people who are employed who are picking up hours elsewhere because they are not allowed more hours by corporate. And to kick it all off, corporate managers of these pharmacies only cut hours because the more they cut, the more money they get...this is so sad to see.
