He took my contact info and told me he would follow up with the price and availability. Nobody ever called. I ordered the tire off of Tire Rack. I brought the tire and the rim in to be mounted at 2:45 in the afternoon and was told they couldn't get it done. So what can you do? You can't follow up with the customers, you can't even look up when you can get the tire. Instead of offering to set me up an appointment for the following day, it was just a hard we can't do it. I'm fairly new to the area and was recommended this shop. But two times I've been there and they haven't been able to help. I'll find another shop.

So, wandered around my neighborhood, found cinder blocks, and eventually changed the tire myself. Then I drove it to HTP where they were very busy, but they couldn't repair the tire. Had to be replaced, which after 1.5 hours, I drove away with, $250.00 lighter. Some may be amazed that: 1. I'd reward the business buy making a purchase; 2. I had to remind them to sell me a tire. Ruidoso is not a place that offers much for tire shopping, nor is the population engaged with "customer service." This is the best one can expect.

Salonon, Wayland, and J (I'm blanking on his name), along with "Fish" -- who I briefly talked to about his nickname -- were all professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They got us taken care of quickly and didn't try to upsell anything, which I really appreciated. They checked and topped off the brake fluid and suspected a cracked radiator, so they added fluid there as well. Great value - It gave us peace of mind to safely continue our road trip.

I guess my pause was too long for him--about 20 seconds. Before I could even get "87 Ford" out of my mouth, the guy lost it, walked off from the counter, and said, "Find it yourself."What kind of customer service rep does that? We had a huge snow storm this past weekend. I had to leave my car in the lot because I couldn't…read moremake it up the iced over hill on Porr to make it home. I made sure I was in a correct spot and left a note in my windshield. I didn't think it'd be a big issue since they are closed Sundays anyway. So I come down this Monday around 1:00, allowing the ice to melt, and as I'm about to get my car, the owner, manager, came out and tried to say how lucky I was he didn't have it towed. I tried to explain that I couldn't get my car up the icy hill. He said he didn't care. "It's a business". Obviously it's a business. I was planning on coming back and having my car looked at as I've just moved up here and don't have my normal mechanic anymore. After the experience with the bald man with the Napoleon complex, I'd rather go to a commercial mechanic now. Thought this town would be understanding in times of emergency as the hill i live on didn't have power for over 2 days. But this guy shows that they don't. As someone who also runs a business, this reflects poorly on you and your company. As such; I'll make sure to let anyone I know needing a mechanic to avoid this heartless person's business.

The answer was "No thanks.". No explanation or interest whatsoever by the guy who answered the phone. I didn't even have a chance to ask about all the other services I wanted to get done - new battery, transmission and brake services, coolant flush and a muffler check. I get why shops don't want to use outside parts or supplies for liability issues. My goal wasn't to be cheap it was to use the correct oil and filter for my car instead of whatever the shop felt was good enough. Definitely a bad impression for a potential customer.

We drive a European vehicle that typically costs $1000 every time we take it to the shop. So you can imagine that when your check engine light comes on and your 10 hours away from home, your anxiety level goes up. We found Art's Repair Plus on yelp and the reviews were very impressive. So we called him up and explained our situation. He said come on in and we would run the diagnostics right away. So we did and he ran the diagnostics as soon as we got there.
