tl;dr: The nicest humans in the world run this place. Absolutely support this business. Great…read moretreats and the cleanest, most efficient, best supported self wash in town. I came here with my current very ragged, extra stinky foster dog. She's a small terrier mix who spent at least a year on the streets. She is a combination of terrier bravado and extreme love me cuteness, but she doesn't know some of the basics of being a companion dog. So the bath plan was very new to her. Everything was set up for me - towels, wash cloth, massaging brush, apron. There are shampoo choices that you can smell before testing which is very important to people with allergies. Because the dog is healing from a major flea infestation, we chose the calming oatmeal shampoo. We were also given a blueberry shampoo for her face and conditioner. Everything is mixed in squeeze bottles for easy application. They also gave us a bowl of treats to keep her happy during her bath. They explained how everything worked and made sure to get the water to a good temperature before we started. The shampoo was excellent quality as was the conditioner. They checked on me to make sure things worked well. When we moved to the drying area, the table had been raised to make things easier. I also want to mention how clean everything is. We were there later in the day. You would think they had just opened given that everything was sparkling. I'm sure other dogs had been there that day, but you couldn't tell. We left happy. The dog looked wonderful and bounced out of there as happy as could be.

Finally -- a Pet Store That Actually Cares as Much as You Do!…read more I drove all the way from Sacramento just to visit Maxwell's Pet Bar, and it was absolutely worth the trip! I have a Belgian Malinois, and even before coming in, the team was so kind and helpful over the phone -- patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping me choose the best food for her. When I arrived, I was blown away. The shop is beautiful, clean, and filled with the highest-quality, thoughtfully selected products. You can tell everything they carry is chosen with real purpose and care. What truly stood out, though, were the owners. Jen and Christy (apologize for misspelling ahead of time) are passionate, down-to-earth, and incredibly knowledgeable about pet health and nutrition. They took the time to answer every question, explain ingredients, and make sure I left feeling confident and informed. I honestly felt like I was hanging out with friends who love animals just as much as I do. Even though they likely offer shipping, I'll gladly make the drive again just to experience that level of customer service and connection. If you're serious about your pet's wellbeing and want to support people who genuinely care, Maxwell's Pet Bar is the place. Truly one of a kind!

This review is LONG over due. We got our Oban in 2020…read more After graduating puppy school at Smarty Pups, we thought it would be a good idea to continue socializing Oban through daycare. I did a fair amount of research via Yelp, but found Good Dog via Instagram. We met Erik and Teal for "testing" at their facilitating near the Alemany Market, and phew!, Oban passed. The facility is spacious, clean, and has an indoor and outdoor area. We started Oban with 3 days a week playcare. He is picked up between 10-11am and home between 4-5pm. He is exhausted by the time he gets home and we don't experience the witching hour that we do when he is home all day. Unlike off-leash plays at the beach, we are not concerned that Oban will bring home lbs of sand or worse off run away. You can tell that Teal, Erik, and Yvonne all love dogs and they take great care of all of the pups. Sometimes, our Oban sits and stares at the door waiting for one of them to come through and take him away to his happy place. We don't know whether to have hurt feelings, or feel joy because he is so happy to go there. When we were finally able to travel (COVID and all) we boarded Oban with Teal and Erik. They sent us daily pictures and updates about his well-being, and what he was doing. These people just plain love dogs and treat them well.

We found Good Dog via yelp, and we quickly understood the 5-star reviews that came before ours. Teal, Erik, and Yvonne are absolutely fabulous hoomans who clearly LOVE doggos. Teddy has so much fun with his friends! He comes home every day tired from all of his playing, but then can't wait to go back the next day. Good Dog makes it super easy for us by picking Teddy up and dropping him off at home, and we love the photos (both on Instagram and sent to our phones nearly every day). And their prices are super reasonable! In short -- if you have a doggo and need daycare, call Good Dog today!!!

After several challenging experiences at a traditional veterinary office, we reached out to his team for help, and we're so glad we did. They were kind, punctual, professional, and exceptionally skilled. Thanks to their thoughtful approach, we were able to complete all of our dog's vaccinations with minimal stress in a convenient setting outside the home, which helped avoid territorial issues. They guided us in choosing medications to keep him calm and followed up afterward to make sure he was doing well. We were very impressed by how confidently and compassionately they handled him. They also took the time to walk us through the risks and benefits of different options, helping us make informed, personalized decisions tailored to our dog's needs. We highly recommend Lotus to anyone looking for a low-stress alternative to a traditional vet visit.

Patty has been H's dog walker for almost 2 years. My husband met her at Walter Haas and was…read moreimpressed by her attention and care to the dogs she was in charge of and asked her if she could take Mr. H on these playtimes. He was a puppy then and had (and still does have) a lot of energy. She was great about finding the right tools to reign his puppy-ness while still giving him a great work out. She takes the dogs to Walter Haas, Douglas, and Bernal. Patti always lets us know if there are issues we should be aware of (important to us as H is our first "child" and we want to know these kind of details). I feel like she's protective of her dogs and looks out for them, something we really appreciate as we take H to various SF parks a lot and seen dog walkers/owners that are not as attentive and the consequences, dog scuffles/ears bitten, not good. Before Patti agreed to take H on, I think we went through a trial period to make sure he was compatible with her other dogs. We found that really reassuring as we didn't want H with dogs that didn't get along with him and risks for doggy scuffles. Patti is also very flexible and responsible with schedules. I can send her e-mails/voicemails and she always gets back to me. She comes when she's supposed to and when there's any uncertainty regarding our schedule she confirms. Oh and whenever she takes a holiday (only once or twice that I can remember) she let us know way in advance. She takes her job seriously and is a professional. I can't say enough good things about her.
