Each time is very rushed. We get a bath and full body cut with teeth brushing and nail trim. We have always expected a decent grooming to be at least an hour and a half for these services at various groomers. Our dog has never had a single complaint from a groomer and they always say how much they love him. Dee-O-Gee rushes through in 45 minutes. As a result, our dog is not as soft or cleanly shaved as other groomers. His behavior is also very unusual after we pick him up, like he is unusually scared. In November, the groomer told us he needed "too much reassurance" while being groomed and she was not sure if he was welcome back in the future. Not sure a groomer, and not a manager, has the authority to ban a dog based on her personal opinion. She was unable to tell us what went wrong when we asked and then offered to groom him at his next appointment. Very confusing! At today's appointment we were scolded upon pickup and told he pooped at the end. He has never done this in three years and something was clearly wrong. I'm sorry, but I'm also not sure what the groomer wanted me to do after the fact. She just felt compelled to scold me about it for several minutes in front of other customers and staff. Very condescending treatment from groomers who should be prepared to work with dogs of all types. Will not be back.

I've worked at a pet hospital previously myself and while I feel Bozeman has numerous great vets, in my eyes this one really shines. Over the last few years from our Labrador having a large and persistent allergic reaction, our shepherd eating an entire pan of brownies off the stovetop, and now our aging kitty needing new senior care, they have supported us through it all. They are professional and their office and warm and cleanly and they do a great job keeping all animals in the lobby safe. From what I can tell they seem to have a supportive work environment amongst staff which is not always the case in the veterinary world and I feel good knowing I'm supporting a company that respects their employees from the top down. They have really wonderful "bedside manner", and most important to me, they take the time necessary to patiently break down what the pet is facing and what your options are. There is so much that goes into animal healthcare so I'm very grateful to have such a supportive team of vets, techs, and staff for our animals!

Know Thy Dog knocked my socks off. To start the process off for a new dog, there's a pretty comprehensive questionnaire. It's as much a questionnaire of the owner as it is about the dog, which is incredibly smart-- many dog owners are as much a problem as their untrained dog! After reviewing my answers, I got a call from the staff, getting Sombra and me scheduled up for a trial day. They managed my expectations, letting me know what would happen if Sombra turned out to have trouble at KTD, or if they needed me to come get her early. I booked a date for the trial, and off we went. The drop off was seamless. I got checked in, they said hello to Sombra, and she was escorted off to the daycare. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and gave me a little card with a phone number to text if I wanted updates. They let me know what to expect, and when I could come pick Sombra up. Hours later, I come by to pick her up. The staff gave me the sitrep on how things went-- Sombra wasn't a great fit for the first play group, so they moved her out into a quieter one, where she fit in great! She spent the day playing with them, and things went smoothly. After the trial day, Sombra was approved to come by without appointment. I'm stoked to use KTD for daycare and possibly boarding in the future. They've won my trust, and Sombra's high standards for play groups. Thanks, KTD!

Kiki also has a loose front incisor tooth, that Dr Higgins recommended extracting and to check for any other issues to other teeth. We immediately scheduled the cleaning with the staff at the front desk, who were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to get Kiki in 2 days later to have the procedure, from pre-anesthetic blood panel, to the actual sedation under anesthesia, to the cleaning of all teeth, the extraction of the incisor and one molar. Dr Arakaki performed the surgery and did a fabulous job of keeping us updated on how the procedure went. Madison, the technician was also amazing from when I brought Kiki the morning of the surgery, reviewing everything in detail and as well, when we picked up Kiki. We would like to compliment entire team at Baxter Creek, from the front desk personnel, Madison, Dr Higgins and of course Dr Arakaki. The clinic is very clean and state of the art with their equipment and would highly recommend them to any pet owner Thanks Baxter!

The outcome was the best I could have hoped for, and I'm thankful for the veterinarian who ultimately performed the procedure and quite literally saved her life. However, the experience leading up to that point was deeply concerning. My dog was brought in with a closed pyometra--a life-threatening condition--and was understandably in a great deal of distress. She was acting aggressively due to the pain, fear, and severity of her condition. Unfortunately, the initial emergency veterinarian who saw her appeared to lack the patience and compassion you'd expect from someone in this profession. I was shocked when it seemed she was on the verge of turning my dog away due to her behavior. Thankfully, another veterinarian stepped in, took the time to calm my dog, and confirmed the diagnosis. He performed the emergency surgery, which he later told me had to happen that day--waiting even one more day would have resulted in sepsis and likely death. To that second veterinarian: thank you. Your professionalism and quick action made all the difference. I'll update this review with your name to give credit where it's due. To other pet owners: please be aware that depending on who is on duty, your pet may not receive the same level of patience or understanding if they present with aggressive behavior due to pain or stress. This experience was a reminder that while some veterinarians go above and beyond, others may fall short in moments that matter most.
