I have a 7 month old lab who is learing the ropes. They are very good with her and she received excellent care. They verified in orientation how she would handle big vs small dogs and made sure she was safe. I like that they have cameras that you can check on your pet while they are there. read more

Genuinely I heavily debating not posting this, I had been coming for over a year and I loved bringing my dog here. Twice my dog has been brought to me smelling of urine, with urine on the leash and harness. there was urine on his stomach and chest today, and I had to bathe him the last time I brought him because he stunk of urine (but I brushed it off because I didn't want to believe they'd give me my dog back like that) so bathing him again less than two weeks later is not going to be okay for his skin- and also he shouldnt have been laying in pee. for any reason. I also have two photos time stamped, showing a kennel torn apart and what looks like urine, still sitting there thirty minutes later. I e mailed them and was offered a bath for him, but I feel sick at the thought of leaving him there again. I'm so disappointed. read more

No pics but I needed to give this place a review because I have two dogs that I have to board on the regular. Both my dogs hated all the places we have used in the past and I mistakenly thought it was because they didn't like being boarded. They would literally put the brakes on and start whining when I would try to get them in the door anywhere else. I admittedly made fun of "fancy" boarding places in the past but after having happy dogs for drop off and pick up, I am a convert. My bigger dog, Chester LOVES going to RuffHousing because he loves ppl and other dogs, and he gets playtime daily with every stay. Levi, my little grumpy old fella, does not like other dogs and tolerates ppl....even he will happily go in the door at RuffHousing. Something not seen in all of his 15 years! If you have multiple dogs they will allow them to stay together. Staff is helpful and friendly and the facility is clean too. Anyway, it's expensive but I feel better leaving them here and that's worth the extra money to have that peace of mind. read more

You know what's ironic? When you happen to log on to see how your dog is at dog day care only to find she is being aggressively mounted with three handlers either looking in the direction or within four feet of her (see screenshot) and I am the one who had to call for them to stop it. I hadn't logged in to check up on her until about 11:20. At 11:22 after the first time she was mounted I took a screenshot and immediately called them to get the staff to pay attention and stop the other dog. Per the general manager's wording any time a dog repeatedly mounts another dog they will take him or her away from the other dogs and evaluate if that dog can stay in their program. The follow up phone call was to tell me my dog wasn't mounted "for that long" and they staff stopped it. Yes, they stopped the act after I called and alerted them to it. Four solid minutes of "her being watched." Am I going to get a refund for today? According to the general manager no because the services were provided this morning I would say otherwise. And if I happen to login at a random time and see this how do I know it hadn't happened all morning long? If I am paying for others to watch my dog, they need to watch her. Maybe watching ten dogs per each handler is too much for them and they should reevaluate that protocol. But according to the general manager's follow up phone call to me, my dog is fine and this is normal behavior. Yes, dogs do mount but the ignoring of her wounds or the fact nothing was done by the staff says a lot about how you're running your business. Also, if you're gonna call yourself a manager saying the word butt hole repeatedly probably isn't the most professional way to go about this conversation. I'm not going to respect or even acknowledge you know what you're doing. Am I over protective about my dog? Absolutely. Will I tolerate the neglect and general disconcert from the general manager and staff? You bet your ass I won't and this needs to be shared before anyone else considers trusting these people with your pet(s). Overall, I have been very pleased with RuffHouse. She loves playing with the other dogs and has become much more social since she has started going. My one complaint is the dogs seem to routinely be put in their kennels by 11:20 for the morning session and before 3:20 for the afternoon session. It is usually ten or fifteen minutes after the sessions start before they are let out of the kennels, effectively losing a hour of play time. read more

I boarded my dog for the first and last time this month. I requested two snack treats they offer and to get a note about whether she liked them, because I would order more if she did. Nothing from them. Used the chat feature, was told it would be marked urgent. Still silence. Scheduled a bath and to pick up my dog at 11:00 (that was the earliest available pick up time). Arrived at 11:15. Dog hadn't been bathed. Was told I could wait TWO MORE HOURS after I explained we were going out of town and I had delayed leaving until they could bathe her and have her ready at 11:00. When they brought my dog's things out, they had not given her all the daily dental chews I had included, with easy to follow instructions (dental chew after morning kibbles). Clearly the staff has zero listening and follow-through skills on simple things (giving her daily dental chews I provided) and services they offer (purchased snacks, grooming). Why trust your dog to anyone who can't get the basics right? read more

I wish I could give zero stars. We had gone to Ruff Housing before it changed ownership. While my dogs didn't love to be boarded, the people were friendly and I knew my dogs were taken care of. This last week, we boarded our two pups for 7 nights. It was over $770! When I dropped my dogs off, the lady at the front desk was rude. When I picked my dogs up, the staff person said one of my dogs pooped on himself (he does not have accidents at home). They said they were going to clean him up but they ran out of time. Instead, they took a brush and brushed off dry poop. The poop had been on him for quite a while if it was that dry. He also came home with a hot spot under his tail about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. 4 days later, wearing a cone, and applying medicine every 4 hours, he is still in pain. I will never board there again nor will I recommend it to my friends. read more

Zoey had her first day at doggie daycare!!! Not even going to lie those who know me know im a semi helicopter mama. ‍ The vet advised we go ahead & start this to help Zoey adjust when it's time for our sweet Roxy to cross the rainbow bridge. I have been a mess all day worrying but I just received this it was her report card!!! Omggg y'all it literally listed the dogs names that she made friends with & I was able to view her on the WebCam throughout most the day. She was groomed by Devin & they even sent me these photos on her report card. I cannot brag on Ruff Housing Doggie Daycare and Boarding enough. this was totally my own fault, I forgot the bag with the dogs' food, and in there was also the paperwork that showed that one of our 2 dogs had gotten her shots at the vet... they close at 7 and I didn't have time to go back and get the stuff and be back before closing. as it turns out, it was going to inconvenience the living hell out of me to have to bring the dogs the next morning, but it was going to be a cold day in "you know where" before the young lady was going to make an exception and let me run back and get the stuff and come back a few minutes after 7pm when they close. that would have been way too much to ask. again, my own fault, but I hope I never have to board them there again. read more

Our family dog requires a special diet that needs to be refrigerated. These instructions were agreed upon when he was dropped off at the Country Club RH location. 5 days later when he was picked up it was discovered that his food had the food NOT been refrigerated, because it was MOLDY. Also, there was still 5 bags of his food remaining. So who knows if he was fed every day? And if so, it was partially moldy. This is an omission that is NOT acceptable. This is abuse. My parents have been using RH for over 10 years. And while they were fine with a full refund, and will never use RH again, I felt others should know. read more

We will never board here again. First of all there is no way to reach anyone in the actual location at all any longer. All customer calls go to some kind of answering service probably not even in this state (or country) let alone in Winston. We unexpectedly were 5 minutes late for the 5pm closure on Sunday to pick up our dog from boarding and there was absolutely no one on site and no way to reach anyone local. Customer service told us they close and leave at 5 and no one is back to check on the pets until 7am the next day. That means all the dogs are crated for 14 hours straight with no walks or exercise. That is unconscionable and inhumane. The last time she boarded here she came home with blood in her urine (urinary tract infection) and now we know why. And there is NO ONE onsite in case of emergencies and NO emergency contact for pet owners. I can't believe they can run a business this way. They are essentially holding our dog- a living creature and member of our family- hostage. If you love your pet, DO NOT board them here. read more

We dropped off our 7 month puppy today for an orientation before our vacation in December. I decided to watch on the webcam. When we dropped her off we were very specific not to put her with Alot of dogs. We told them she just had surgery. Recovering from being spayed . it has been only 16 days since. Please put her with 1 or two dogs. She has never been with other dogs. 15 dogs later..... We watched male dogs humping females numerous times. My girl hid behind this crate the whole time. No one came over to her. A bulldog pushed his way at her and humped her on her side while pushing her into the crate. We ran and got her immediately. Really???? I have boarded my Booger here a few times and it has been great. When we adopted our dog in 2018 were told he wouldn't do well with dogs, so we never tried to socialize him well, but in 2022, we needed to go away and unfortunately had no one local to us to watch him and couldn't bring him with us. We brought him in for their playdate evaluation and he did WONDERFUL. While there, we did give permission for them to work on getting him to play with other dogs, so they tried it out and he ROCKED IT! I don't know what kind of magic spell they cast on this place, but my dog (who HATES car rides and being away from his family) LOVES this place. He gets so excited to go and seems to enjoy running around and playing with his friends while he's there. I have anxiety so we splurge and get the luxury suite so we have 24/7 camera access to him and it's great. I wish it had sound, but I understand why that can't be a thing. read more

Worst experience I have ever had. They quoted me 47 dollars a day and the bill ended up being 171. I only did three days and brought him later the first day. When I checked on him with the camera he was not being attended to. When they "played" with him the employee just walked around in a circle. Paying that much for a daycare the least they can do is play with them. The inside stunk to high heavens and when I picked my dog up he had a bump on his head, he was more scared then when I dropped him off and he stunk. When I brought up the overcharge the employee was very rude and did not even try to help me. Said he would put a "no charge on my account until the issue was solved but it was not. Very negligent and they do NOT CARE for your dogs!! So many end up at the vet / emergency hospital for sickness, malnutrition, and injuries!! Vets warn people of this place!! Don't believe me, ask around and the vets! The water sits and has Feces in it, they forget to feed your dogs, and so many dogs that stay here get hospitalized for Parasites and sometimes worse!!! It's BAD! Avoid this place like your animal's life depends on it, because it does!! They also don't let you know if they see blood in your dog's stool, or anything they should advise you of because they don't care! I want to love Ruff Housing. My dogs certainly always love it there. They're convenient and the most expensive place in town. A year ago, they were bought out by a corporate owner, and it shows. I just can't be paying $50/day/dog there anymore. My issues- *We are now told we have to bring our dog's food in individual meal portions. If we don't, there's a $3 charge a day. When I asked about the why - my dog gets a simple cup of dry food am and pm - I was told, "It's easier for us." I'm already paying $$$ for a premium kennel, and now I've got to make it easier for them to give him a cup of food or I have to pay even more?? *Groomers are not always available due to lack of staffing. Haven't been able to get an exit bath. *The last two times I picked up my beagle, he's been wet on his hindquarters, and his white fur was yellow. It was as if he sat in a pee puddle not once, but on two separate occasions. In my 9 years of dog ownership, this was a new one and gives me pause *No daycare on Sunday. Boarding dogs seem to get an extended potty break but not play. Still paying full rate. *Note on the door says prices are going up AGAIN at end of June. I miss the local ownership. We have been customers for a number of years for occasional vacation boarding. Experience over this Christmas holiday was disappointing. Our dog was housed in a "luxury suite." On 12-24 I noticed that the monitoring camerawas pointed toward the wall so we were unable to see whether or not she was being attended to. I did leave a voicemail about this and it was corrected. I am concerned that on 12-25 it's possible that the animals were not attended . Phone calls were not answered at ANY of the locations, nor was there a response to an email or voicemail messages . Checking the cameras for the play yards and the playrooms I saw virtually no activity - No evidence that boarded dogs were receiving three breaks certainly. Dog was supposed to receive three "extended potty breaks " during that time because playtime does evidently not happen on Sunday or holidays (though we pay full price still ) If I wanted my dog to be alone, I could've left her at home . Picked her up , paid my 300+ dollars , but we won't be back. Still no response to messages or email . read more

14 year old Charlotte Schaller DIED as a direct result of lack of care by staff March 2022. Lost 1/3 of her weight, ( in 6 days) left in her suite in anxiety barking for days( Even though I kept calling and asking for her to have extra breaks that I would pay for). While returning from overseas after 6 days I received a Ruff Housing report card " by email "Charlotte had a great day..." at the same time I was talking to staff about her needing medical help as " she was not doing well". Manager Brittany was rude and hung up on me. For an older healthy dog to lose 5 pounds in 6 days (who was brought in at 19 pounds and picked up at 14 pounds) is unspeakable, and is animal abuse. Charlotte suffered for 6 days despite my phone calls from overseas. She boarded there for 12 years, staff knew her, she was a frequent boarder. SHE DID NOT DESERVE do suffer like this. read more

Boarded our two senior shih thus for a week in June 2021 at the Country Club Rd facility...a week before that day care for 1/2 day. They are both recuperating from kennel cough & upper respiratory now in the middle of July and after spending $$ on vet care & drugs. I feel that they are boarding too many dogs at once and are not disinfecting their kennels. Actually our dogs experienced the same thing last year at the Witt St facility. This is not good! I know they are not the only boarding or grooming place to have this problem, but when you pay too dollar for boarding you expect not to have to turn around and spend more money. Since we moved here in January 2019, we have been to three different groomers and could never find one that made us happy. Today we took our 3 dogs to Ruff Housing on Country Club, 2 for grooming and 1 is bath only. Becca did the grooming and we couldn't be happier. Their cuts were exactly what we had asked for, she called to make sure that she understood what had been relayed to her, and, best of all, all 3 dogs were completely calm when we picked them up. Not showing stress or fear that made us leave one place. This location is more than 20 minutes from our home, but worth every minute. Best of all, their prices were half of the last place that we took them to who charged the same amount for the bath only dog as was charged for the fully groomed ones. So happy to find a place that I am confident to take my babies to! read more

We went to the Witt Street location for our puppy and we weren't satisfied (the night staff didn't take care of him that much, plus he was left in his kennel when we paid for full daycare on the first day, long story short. Daycare is good tho!), so we decided to drive the extra 15 minutes to Country Club to give Ruff Housing another shot. We were very pleased with their professionalism and the extra care they took with our pupper. They were excited to pick him up, and pupper in return was excited to go with them! We got the luxury suite, so we were able to peak in on our pup, and the few times we did we saw someone taking care of him with pets and attention (which we requested, but it was nice to see). They let us know in advance which play group he was in if we wanted to check him out on the webcams, and they made sure he went home with everything he came with (toys, blanket, etc). Most importantly, puppy came home happy and tired! Only complaint is the webcams outside is a bit too pixelated, so it's tough to make out which pooch is ours from a distance, but that's minor and nbd to us TLDR... if you can't decide between the two Ruff Housing locations, the one on Country Club Rd is superior in care to the one in Witt St! read more

A longtime client for 14 years...I left my 14 1/2 year old terrier with them....was overseas but called every day because she seemed agitated on the webcam. Was told all was fine, eating fine. She became very sick the last day...we picked her up that night.....she.had lost from 19 pounds to 14 ( while eating well???) and had to be taken to emergency Dr. Because of the weight loss and stomach virus she picked up there she died. Was told by manager Brittany that " well we were doing you a favor boarding her....we usually do not board senior dogs". Left this review on their site and the reply was that Brittany did not say that and that Charlotte was fine,....my dog died because of neglect. read more

My dogs have been going to Ruff Housing (both the Whitt Street and Country Club locations) for several years now. When we first started using them their services (boarding) were excellent but over the last year their has been a major decline. I have three senior dogs. One of which is on time sensitive seizure medicine. They gave my dog a double dose of medicine and didn't call me until several hours had passed. They didn't call my dogs vet either. Twice now one of my three senior dogs has come home with kennel cough. My dogs are never around other dogs except when I board them with Ruff Housing a few times per year. Management when called told me this last time thanks for letting us know and we will make sure to clean the kennel they were staying in. Plus I informed them #1 this isn't good because my dogs are seniors and they have a greater chance of having a bad case but also #2 I'm pregnant and dogs can transfer kennel cough to humans. Management told me that is false information. Management, you need to educate yourself because my doctor told me yes humans can get it. Management, you also need to educate your staff and not accept dogs that are sick or have incomplete vaccination records. I just had to spend almost $200 at my vet to put my senior dog on couch medicine and an antibiotic. I also have to keep a close eye on my other two dogs since they were exposed. And per my doctor because I am pregnant I have to make sure I don't go near my dog or let her get close to me. Thanks Ruff Housing for yet another let down. I just hope the owners read this review and do something because your services are going way down. And I for one don't trust you anymore to give quality care to my dogs. read more

You will see I don't write a lot of reviews, but when I do I try to provide the whole story. We have been using all three locations for 7 years, but primarily the Country Club location. 1 year ago this would have been a 4 star review, not a 5, only because the price is a little high. During the 7 years we have never had a problem with two well trained dogs that we own. But a year and a half ago we rescued a puppy that had been abused and he was a little skittish around people and sometimes other dogs. Not aggressive, just scared. He was fine at Ruff Housing for a while, but at some point he was put in "enrichment" which is basically a room by himself. I totally understand that, if the staff feels he is in distress or a danger to other people or dogs. Once we found out what "enrichment" was we quit taking him there to play. We started taking him to local dog parks to spend more time socializing him to people and animals he wasn't familiar with so that he could get more one on one attention. Today we took him back to the Country Club location and asked specifically to put him in the general play group and asked that if there was ANY problem at all just call and we will come get him because the purpose was not to put him in isolation ("enrichment"), but to see if he has made any progress. We didn't receive any call and assumed he was doing fine because he has been doing great at the dog parks. Upon picking him up at the end of the day we found out he had been placed back in "enrichment" because he seemed scared of the staff not the other dogs. I am not a dog whisperer, but working with him it seems that just shoving him in a room doesn't create the environment for him to want to be there and that is why I made the simple request of a phone call. When they first opened the Country Club location there was a stable staff that seemed to take an interest in the dogs, and owners, and I know we would have gotten the phone call. As the place as grown over the last 4-5 years that personal touch has changed. You are paying a premium to leave your dog there and the personal touch made it worth the extra money. We all spend money on our dogs as if they were a child. But our experience with this rescue dog has highlighted the way that this business has become very transactional over time. Let me be very clear; I have nothing against any business growing and I am not a person that expects special attention. You should feel safe leaving your dog there. It will be well taken care of. This is not a bad business with bad employees. Just know that if your dog is not perfect it is probably not the right place for him/her. I have another dog that is perfect and he has never had a problem Ruff Housing. But the business has grown to a size that they don't appear to be able to deal with a dog that might need a little extra work or understanding. My main issue is that I realized that personal attention isn't there over the last year or so, which is fine, and that is why I specifically made a point about getting a phone call so that I could avoid any additional mental harm to this rescue dog. I don't think that was too much to ask considering the cost of daycare there. Not getting the call is proof to me that Ruff Housing and their volume of dogs has just too large for the dogs that need a little more work, which is probably fine for most dogs. It just may not be the place for you if your dog isn't fully socialized and you think they will let you know if things aren't going well. I wish it was the Ruff Housing it used to be. DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG HERE!!! I brought mine in on 3/24-3/27. When I picked her up she was SO sick: lethargic, vomiting, and the worst diarrhea I have ever experienced with a dog. She refused any type of food and water for a couple of days but I finally got her to eat and drink some. She seemed to be getting better until this past Tuesday evening 4/12. I thought I was going to have to take her to the emergency vet. But I ended up taking her to her regular vet on Wednesday 4/13 and they fit her in at the last minute because they were incredibly concerned about her. She had lost 6 pounds in just two weeks. She isn't a large dog, she hovers around 50-51 pounds. Turns out she has giardia, which is a parasite that dogs can get from water that's been contaminated with fecal matter. I'm incredibly disappointed with Ruff Housing and lack of concern. I will absolutely never be bringing her back. If I had not paid attention to her and this went untreated, she could've gotten incredibly sick and possibly died from this. After speaking with the GM a few days after I had picked her up, I was only refunded back my boarding costs but honestly at this point, I'd love to have the whole thing refunded. Upon speaking with the GM I found out that she not only had diarrhea with blood in it while she was there, she also didn't eat a single thing. Understandable if a dog eats a little, maybe their nerves are tore up from being away from home. But NOTHING for 4 days?! Do better with communication skills, Ruff Housing. I'm still livid about this whole situation. So please, be cautious bringing your dog here. This all has just been stressful and disappointing. read more

I am very frustrated with the communication of Ruff Housing CC. First, it's very difficult to get anyone on the phone. So I requested a half day of daycare (pm) online through the portal. I never received an email confirming my request was approved but I got a text message a day or so later "confirming my 1:00" appointment from a random 855 number without a mention that it was Ruff Housing. I have a medical disability so I thought it was a doctors appointment and it took me a bit to figure out it was the daycare. Fast forward to today, I dropped my 2 year old lab off in the afternoon and no one informed me that he was not in daycare but had been changed to another meet n greet intro session. I learned later when I got a text at 3:55pm that he was ready to be picked up. I had several doctors appointments and the last one was at 4:30 so I figured he would be okay if he played hard until 4 and then stayed in his room until 5:45/6. When I called, no one answered. I texted back Please call me and when I heard from G, he said that my dog was in a room until I could get him. When I asked him to clarify "room" I learned he was actually in a kennel and when I asked if it was a 4x6, he said no, "that is the size of our rooms" but he's in a crate adequate in size (but again he didn't know the size). I asked about size on purpose. My lab has anxiety about being crated (but not put in a room). He goes to daycare every Monday where we live and I need a place for him when I come for medical appointments to WS. I would never agree to leave him in "an adequate size" crate from 3:45-6:00 (and definitely not 7:00). I wanted to give CC location a try due to better reviews. When I boarded him at Witt St a while ago, the camera I paid extra for was on a different dog and when they finally changed it (without calling me back to let me know they corrected after receiving my message), he didn't have the chew toys or stuffed animal I specifically asked them to leave for him. Communication is poor, which seriously impacts trust. read more

I took my 46 lbs doodle for a full groom with Becca Searcy today. I dropped her off at 9:30 am. At 5:00 pm, I hadn't received a call or text that she was ready to be picked up, so I called FOUR TIMES and no one picked up! I decided to just drive over. When I walked in, there were four staff members behind the counter. When I stated that I was there to pick up my dog, one staff member went to the back to check on her, then came back to let me know that my dog wouldn't be ready for another 45 minutes. I asked why no one was answering the phones (with four staff behind the counter) and I was told that only trained staff (2 of the four behind the counter) are allowed to answer the phone and interact with customers. (WTH?) Walking in and seeing four staff members standing behind the counter after no answer on the phone is not a good look for business. Customer service is key to success and the staff missed the mark today. The groomer, Becca took NINE hours to groom (with some minor matts) a 46 lbs dog- for $100.00. When discussing this situation with the manager, she told me that that price is their normal fee for grooming doodles. My dad has a doddle and is groomed by another groomer there and has NEVER been charged more than $70.00 for a full groom (including dematting). It seems that the groomers can charge whatever price they want. I DO NOT recommend Becca Searcy for grooming. My 90 lbs doodle has had a full groom (with dematting) and took less time. read more

I took my Australian Labradoodle to get groomed at the Country Club location and asked for a "trim" when she was picked up all of her hair had been shaved down, everywhere, and I mean shaved all the way down. Please keep in mind her hair was about 1 1/2 inches long. Furthermore, if you have experience cutting a Labradoodles hair you know that you would never cut all of their hair off. I can honestly say that I am embarrassed at how my dog looks right now and am livid. I went back and spoke to the manager as soon as I saw her cut and the manager was very nice about it and did refund the charges (which were also much more than any other groomer I have been to) and I appreciated that but I am still extremely upset. The groomer also called and said that my dog had ringworm on her knee. My first thought was how could you even see that with all of her hair, but then it made sense when I saw her because it had been all shaved off. So, I took her to the vet the next day and paid $50 for an examination, and low and behold there was no ringworm. The vet said he looked everywhere and there were no signs of ANYTHING. This place has bit off more than they can chew. The overload of work that they have put on their employees has caused a terrible effect on the customer service. They just forgot to call me when my dog was done being groomed. Also a chubby smartass guy was working up front that evening. We use Ruff Housing for day care, grooming, and boarding. Grooming: I almost hesitate to give the groomers my own instructions when they ask because they do such a GREAT job with our Golden Retriever/"Dog" mix's Spa Baths (bath, trimming, ear cleaning). We also love the de-shed option for the spring when he starts to shed a lot. It really does help! Day Care: Our dog loves going there and they always are excited to see him. He comes home tired and happy with great reports from the staff. I always sneak peaks at him during the day on the web cams, so much fun to watch him play!! Boarding: He spent a week there while we were overseas, and, while it was pricey, it was worth every penny to be able to check on him via the web cams. They also called when he didn't eat his dinner the first night to make sure it was normal (it was, he gets a little nervous sometimes...). They obviously have a wonderful dog day care model by keeping different sized dogs apart, having adequate staff that enjoy being with the dogs, and have strict rules about evaluating and adding new dogs to the groups. read more

My dog loves this daycare! Staff members are super friendly and helpful. My dog has also been groomed here and the groomer did a really good job (my dog is a goldendoodle). This daycare is a little pricier than daycares ive used in the past but its price matches the service. Grooming price is comparable to most groomers. read more

I arrived today to pick up Jay Jay. 1. Let's start at check-in. I never received the webcam name or the password for his suite. I also did not receive updates or pictures like I did last time he stayed in a suite. If that is now an "add-on" service, I think that sucks as much as we pay for a suite. 2. I brought all of his belongings neatly organized in a large, heavy duty shopping bag. When the guy checking me out brought his stuff out, the bag was torn and looked like it had been through a war. Nothing was in the bag and he just kind of tossed it all on the counter. I had to put it all back in the bag myself. Jay Jay's medication was missing, as were his toys. 3. When he brought the toys out, there was one that wasn't even his. How do MY dog's toys get mixed up with another dog's toys if they're only in his suite? Not to mention one of them is filthy and looks like it has been through a war. 4. Then there's the issue of smell. I don't know what you washed him with today, but it stinks to high heaven. It smells like some kind of flea dip. I can't get the smell off of him or his bed. 5. His bandana was also tied so tightly that it was choking him. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! 6. He also had not been brushed or blown out after his bath and there was loose hair everywhere. I had to take my car and vacuum it out because of what came off of him on the ride home. 7. You also overcharged me. I dropped him off Wednesday after 4:30 and picked him up today by 10:30. That would be 6 nights in a suite and 5 half days of enrichment activity. So I would appreciate it if you would add a credit to my credit card of $20 plus applicable tax. If this is the level of service and care you are going to provide going forward, I'll be more than happy to find somewhere else to board my dog. I've been a huge proponent of your business and have made recommendations to many people. After today, I am reluctant to do so any longer. read more

I live in Charlotte, but when I come to Winston Salem at least once a month to visit family, I make sure to take my dog to the Ruff Housing on Country Club for a full day of playtime. The staff is helpful and friendly, and really seem to enjoy what they're doing. The dogs are separated into free-play rooms and/or outdoor spaces based on size and activity level (and there is an option not to put them in free-play from what I've been told). There are pools, shade, slides and toys for lots of fun and stimulation. Report cards are given at the end of each day that brief you on the dog's bathroom habits, energy, disposition, any concerns, etc. throughout the day. The facility is bright, clean, modern, and astonishingly odorless. The groomer has done a spectacular job on my pup's nails every time (and believe me, groomers have royally screwed that up in the past). They have one-way mirrors on all windows so even the most anxious of dogs don't get distressed every time a human or animal walk by. The private suites come equipped with TVs and you are encouraged to bring your dog's bed and favorite toys so that they are as comfortable as possible. The prices are reasonable. You can drop off/pick up between 7:00-6:00, 365 days a year. They also offer extended accommodations from 5 am-9 pm for an additional fee. There are even have web cams in every room and on each patio so that you can check in remotely throughout your dog's stay. Not only does it give my dog the stimulation, interaction, and exercise he loves so much, but it gives me peace of mind knowing that I can handle all my errands and see everyone I need to without feeling guilty leaving him cooped up alone all day. Plus he is EXHAUSTED when I pick him up, which means even more relaxing for me. I highly recommend giving Ruff Housing a try! read more
