This is a great deal on dog boarding! I chose the Pamper Pet Package, which was only $28/night for a small dog. This includes playtime and walks for your dog. The inside looked very clean and was relatively quiet (compared to other dog boarding facilities I've been to). The staff were polite and took the time to make sure my dog had all of her vaccinations. My dog came home not seeming restless or anxious, so I felt like they took good care of her throughout the stay. This was good experience and I plan to keep boarding my dog here in the future. read more

My dog and I loved this boarding facility so much and really were very disappointed when they changed their rules to not allow dogs over 10 years old to board at their facility any longer. My Aussie has no health issues at all - she does not take any medications, is not overweight, and requires no extra attention. She is a 12 year old very sweet, good girl. A few days after our unfortunately bad experience, the owner called us with his apology and told us he would refund the grooming fee we had paid. In fact, today our refund check arrived with a note of apology. Our dog is healing and, fortunately hair grows!. Let's hope that our experience was an anomaly to their usual service. The facility is beautiful and staffed with young people who like pets. Mistakes happen. The way they are handled matters greatly. read more

Our pup Birdie stayed at Carolina Pet Place this past weekend. Upon drop off I felt like the ladies who helped us check in were nice enough but not nearly as friendly as other local pet boarding facilities have treated us in the past. I read on the website that for a dog less than 20lbs it would be $23 a night for the "pampered pet package" seeing as this is a decent price and the reviews were pretty good we sent her there while we were out of town. It ended up costing us almost $80 even though she was there just over 48 hours. So we were actually charged $26 per night plus a "Sunday pick up fee" of $26. Going forward I will seek another facility to care for her while we leave town as this is a hefty price for only two nights at a place that doesn't even have cameras for me to check in on her or any other fancy amenities. I did have an email correspondence with the lead dog walker over the price issues and it turns out there is a $26 fee for pick up on Sundays which is only available from 5-6pm. I was not verbally told this and it's not listed specifically anywhere on the website. He did admit the initial price issue per night would be refunded to us and the website was outdated but I never got a clear answer as to why the $26 "Sunday pick up fee" wasn't clear and essentially a hidden fee. I apparently missed it on the form I signed when I dropped her off which is my mistake but I feel regardless it should be on the website to find plain and simple. Also when I told them I was picking her up on Sunday I should have been informed that there was only a 1 hour window and it would cost me as much as a 1 night stay. I would have just picked her up the following day, on Monday and would have paid literally the same exact price. This is quite ridiculous to me and I can say this with experience of other local boarding facilities over the past few years. read more

I was in need of a place to board my dogs (which I have never done, but we were in a pinch) so I found Carolina Pet Place last minute who would accept my dogs. They seemed nice over the phone but when I brought them in, they didn't seem "dog friendly" or excited to be dog people. They immediately took my dogs to the back, gave me no instruction on what they do with the dogs day to day and I left them in their hands. I even had to pay extra just for them to be walked ONCE a day and for play time. So where my dogs not going to be walked to have their legs stretched for the 5 days we were away? When I got my dogs back, my Australian Shepherd had a red mark on her nose which they said nothing about. So I don't know if she was hurt by another dog or what happened. And when my dogs got home and we would try to pet them, they would cower as if they were going to be hit. Which led me to believe they were not treated well at this place whatsoever. My dogs are the happiest, go lucky dogs, and have never acted this way which is how we knew something was up. I will NEVER take my dogs back here again. We met 3 people behind the front desk when dropping them off and picking them up and all 3 looked like they hated life. If you can be so rude while working around dogs, what does that say about you? I would not advise taking your pet here if you care about them. read more

I boareded my 3 dogs there recently and after picking them up they all came home with some sort of stomach bug. I sent them with their own food. I called the owner and he took no responsibility. All their GI problems started as soon as I picked them up. I took them to their Vet and was told they picked up some type of bacteria from the boarding facility. I will never take them there again. The Vet bills cost me a fortune! read more

They've been keeping my Chihuahua mix very happy for the past 2 years! Although my little doggie misses me when I have to travel, he loves the cuddles, playtimes, sleeping quarters, and grooming over here! Wasn't pleased with our service there, although beautiful facility. We left specific instructions as to give our dog 1 chew toy per day so as not to be so bored. Out of three, two were given back to us when we picked him up, with no explanation so would appear they just didn't follow the instructions. Our dog seemed like he hadnt relieved himself #2, often at all due to he went 4 different times after we picked him up in the same day. You must pay for a "walk" they call it, or they have to go in their space, we did pay for 3 "walks" per day. I don't think it's fair to call it a walk if you only take him out for 5 min. The up front customer service was not customer oriented or friendly at all at the first initial drop off or the pick up, so hence our first time over-all experienced was dis-satisfactory so we won't be using them again. Surprised at these pet places that just don't seem to care, I understand some workers might not, but owners just need to be on top of things better, this isn't a new business. read more
