BEWARE~! Whatever you do, please heed my warning about Nick Rudy. He keeps trying to remove my honest reviews. He is not who he claims to be. I will try this again, so you can understand the horror this man, his girlfriend and family members put me through. If you have any vehicle or prized possession that you love, do not bring it to his shop. You may never see it again. And believe me, he comes around REAL NICE at the beginning until he has your vehicle and he has your money. IF he asks you to Venmo him money in advance, don't do it you will never see it again. He refused to return my $800 and now I have to take him to court. November 7th: Dropped my 2009 Smart Fortwo off at his shop. My new $3400 replacement engine delivered to his shop, same day. See first photo. He told me my car would be done within a couple of days. November 9th: Contacted Nick Rudy about an update. He had nothing to report. Five to Six days goes by and NOTHING from him. This was only the beginning of the nightmare with him. Nov. 12th: Finally heard from Nick that he was with his family and didn't even start on my car yet. Nov. 15th....THE REAL NIGHTMARE begins. Almost TWO WEEKS goes by and absolutely NOTHING from Nick Rudy. He doesn't answer my calls, text messages NOTHING! I am thinking this guy just skipped town with my car, my engine and my money. Well technically he did. Long story short, this went on with him for almost TWO MONTHS!!! He locked up my car, my engine and took my money. I had absolutely no access to my property. IT was HORRIBLE. I cannot tell you how many nights of sleep I lost over this man. His girlfriend Heather is in on what he does to customers too. I was desperate to get my property back. I drove down to the shop so many times it wasn't funny. I had to speak to neighboring businesses and finally found the property owner to try and help me recover my property. I contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair, the authorities and now I have to take this guy to court. Turns out Nick Rudy is an alcoholic and decided to go off on one of his drinking binges as soon as I dropped off my car. I am not the first person he has done this to, but I hope I will be the last. Dec. 19th: Nick Rudy threw my car and engine out on the street early in the morning. 2nd photo. I don't typically write reviews but felt this one was absolutely necessary after what my girlfriend went though with this clown. Literally, dealing with him was like being in a circus and I was caught in the middle. I do not want anyone else to have to go through the amount of stress, anger and anxiety that Nick Rudy put us through for almost TWO MONTHS. Turns out this guy is a terrible alcoholic and decided to go on some drinking binge as soon as my girlfriend's smart car and new engine were dropped off at his shop on November 7th, 2024. Not only did he close up shop, lock her car and new engine up for almost two months, he stole $800 from her and refused to give it back. Guess he spent all on booze! I had to call him numerous times for my girlfriend as well as hunt down his girlfriend Heather, who was in on all of it and assisted him with his thievery and fraud. For almost two months he wouldn't return her text messages or phone calls. Refused to let her have her vehicle and engine back, let alone return the money he stole. I tried to help her and so did others. She even tried to get the neighboring businesses to his to help. They all said the same thing, this wasn't the first time he has done this to someone. Hopefully if you read this review, you will save yourself from being his next victim. Fast forward, on December 27th, see the below text message from Nick Rudy to my girlfriend apologizing for what he did but wouldn't return her money. Nice fake apology. read more

Let me tell you this guy is on fire what a great mechanic and all around nice guy such a pleasure in todays world to find someone who actually likes how he earns his living I am mechanic myself not for cars but for a airline and people like him are a dying breed I actually took my little smart car from Phoenix AZ to Vista CA to have him work on it I could not find anyone who wanted to work on it around my home and what is a 6 hour trip lol it was well worth the time and distance and I would do it again If you have car problems and live in Vista you are in luck go see those guys and I promise you you won't be disappointed top notch service and after everything is said and done it feels like I made a friend on top of a great running car I have called him for advice a few time couple times on a Sunday afternoon and guess what he always came to my rescue just awesome I highly recommend that shop and Nick or is it Rudy ? Nick was very attentive to my needs. I purchased a new Range Rover that needed an electronic brake controller installed to allow safe operation of my airstream trailer that I planned to tow with it. I met Nick at his shop and we had an honest and open discussion to find a solution to meet my needs. Nick's first option did not look appealing to either of us, so he did some more research as I waited. He then presented what would meet my needs! Then when I came for the installment, he backed my airstream into his shop yard safely and we mutually talked over and agreed where the electronic brake controller would be installed. He did it professionally and as quoted. I couldn't be happier with Nick's skill and professionalism. I was on vacation in with my family for the week when my alternator went out on a Friday night. I was able to get the part at Autozone, but couldn't find any shops that were willing to put it in. We were planning on making the 700+ mile drive home on Sunday, so we wanted to get it fixed quick. I got Nick Rudy's number from the guys at Autozone and he was able to squeeze me in on Saturday morning. He got the part in quick and had a very fair price. Nick Rudy has been taking care of my automotive needs for the past two years. From oil changes, to brakes, to transmission to body work- Nick has done it all. He is very knowledgeable about his trade and talks you through every problem/scenario. Nick Rudy is my mechanic and has been since my daughter told me about him. He has done wonders for my old 4runner and it runs as good or better than it did new in 1996. I got a second phone quote from B&C for the same service at half the cost. When I took my car in, they were honest, told me I still had 50% of my front brake pads left and only need to replace my back ones for a literal fraction of the cost. I brought in my 2002 Nissan Xterra for an oil pan service, and to replace crankshaft seal and Marcos went above and beyond during the inspection. He discovered a clogged oil filler tube which was inside the oil pan that I hadn't even realized was the issue. Marcos definitely saved my engine from much bigger problems later on. He was thorough, professional, and got the repairs done right the first time. The Xterra is running great now. They're thorough, honest and reasonable. I recently took my car in and described 2 issues I was having. Allen told me to go to the parts store, told me what to get and how to take care of it myself. Then he smiled and said, "I'll give you the easy ones...if it doesn't work bring it back." That cost me less than $20. AWESOME! Just yesterday I started hearing a noise in the front end. Kien knew exactly what it was and in a couple hours time it was taken care of and a lot less than I was anticipating.
