After months of searching for a great orthodontist for my daughter, we found Dr. Rucker thru the Internet. What made us decide to give him a try was based on reviews I've read online. Everyone who gave a review highly rated him, the office staff and overall service. So I was excited to finally take my daughter last Jan 7 for when initial visit and exam. I don't know about you but I'm always a big fan of "first impressions" and the moment we walked into Dr. Rucker's office, I was very impressed with how clean and well decorated his office is. Season, the front desk receptionist was very professional and friendly. We were welcomed by Dr. Rucker and he was great! We used to work with another orthodontist in San Diego and they made it difficult for us to work with our insurance company. My daughter has congenital cleft lip and palate so her orthodontic procedure is basically due to an existing medical issue but they always told us that we had to pay 100% cash coz our insurance (which we have Aetna PPO and MetLife) will not cover it. But Dr. Rucker's treatment coordinator, Alana, did everything she can and a week later, she told us that our insurance company will cover 70% and we will shoulder 30%. Talk about the ultimate customer service. Today, Feb 7, my daughter is here for her braces and the service was impeccable. Rosie, the dental assistant, is amazing. She did the procedure quick without any glitches. I am so glad that we finally found a great orthodontist for my daughter and looking forward to a great relationship with the entire office staff. I have two teen daughters that needed braces and we had more than one consultation with different orthodontist offices in the area. From the moment we walked in, the office and waiting area smelled wonderful and was extremely clean. The iPads that were available to use while waiting were a big hit. It was so nice to see that for the same money or less, my daughters would be taken care of in such a nice atmosphere. There is very little waiting here and the girls are so happy with the service. The Damon system that they are using on them have really moved their teeth and they are looking so nice already and it's only been 10 months. We went to 3 different orthodontists for consultations and ended up going with Dr. Ruckers' office. From the first call, to your consultation visit to the office, to starting actual treatment the process is smooth and organized. Dr. Rucker and his staff are awesome!! The office is beautiful and you can tell that great care was taken to set up every aspect. I love that everything is digitalized too (appointments, paperwork, etc.). Dr. Ruckers' office also features Damon braces which have a shorter treatment time and you are in the office every 10 weeks instead of every four. I assume this is the same for most patients. First, let me start off by saying I wasn't very excited about hearing my dentist strongly suggest that I take my 8 year old to an orthodontist. Dr. Rucker's office educated me with the new science behind getting braces at a younger age, which I appreciated. The mechanics behind braces has changed so much since I had mine 20 years ago--no pulling teeth (try not to), smooth/small brackets, wires that aren't to be tightened, no spacers or expanders...just a more comfortable overall approach. Now to the people...Alana, Season, and Rosie (and Dr. Rucker, of course) made my daughter feel comfortable and confident about the entire process. All of my questions and concerns were answered and addressed. The office is spa-like with upbeat music that won't put you to sleep but won't hurt your ears either, cold water should you be parched, comfortable seating, and complimentary wifi. While braces aren't cheap (my dental insurance doesn't cover ortho) I am very appreciative of the 0% interest payment plans offered at Rucker Orthodontics. Thank you for everything!
