I called and they scheduled a consultation appointment for as soon as they could. They do book up quickly since they are quite busy (I think that's a good sign). They are closed on Fridays. I wasn't sure what to expect. They do have good reviews on Yelp so they were 1 of the 2 orthodontist offices that I was considering. It also helped that our dental office referred Burke and Redford. We arrived a little late and checked in electronically. All the employees at the office were so nice and friendly. With the holidays and us just returning from vacation, I didn't get a chance to complete the paperwork online. They were like no problem and just gave me the paper form to fill out. I worked on the paperwork while they took x-rays for my 6 year old. We were being referred because our dentist saw what looks like a tooth growing over an existing tooth. To give context, my kids were over being in the office even before we got there. They wanted to do something they considered more fun with their time. Keeping in mind my kids not wanting to be there. Dr. Redford was super nice and patient. He asked and listened to my concerns. He then reviewed the images with me. My son didn't hold quite still so he wanted to have him do one more image to be completely sure before giving his recommendations for next steps. I thought Dr. Redford was very knowledgeable and professional. While we discussed my concerns and reviewed my 6 year olds images. They didn't waste time and took my 10 year to get his images taken.

Booked based on a $59 new-patient special, after being told over the phone that a deep cleaning (if needed) would run $1,300. I went to the dentist last year, so I didn't think I would be needing a deep cleaning and went ahead with appointment. During the exam, the hygienist was very heavy-handed, enough to really hurt, then immediately pushed a deep cleaning. When I said I couldn't afford it, she put her hands up and said "I don't talk money, I'm just telling you what I recommend"-- then told me another hygienist who "doesn't talk about money either" would be coming in. That hygienist never actually showed up; I suspect they could tell I was upset and backed off. The dentist confirmed I had zero cavities. I explained to him that I don't want to waste their time, or my time, and if they're going to sell me a deep cleaning, I simply cannot afford it. He said, let me see what our sales person can do The salesperson then appeared with a quote: $3,400 cash -- more than double what I'd been told on the phone -- or $1,450 if I purchased their recommended insurance plan. I told him no, I can't afford it, getting more noticeably upset He disappeared for 5-10 minutes and came back with the exact same total, just broken into different line items. By the time I walked out, I had told three different people four times I couldn't afford it, and there were no offers of other options that might be within my price range. Called my old dentist and got a quote of $600-$800 cash for a deep cleaning, but was advised they aren't sure I'm going to need it. They are farther but worth a drive to save over $1000. So, I would skip this place unless you enjoy sales pitches with your dental work.

Instead, they pushed an aggressive treatment plan that included two crowns (I've never had one before, just a series of fillings) and at least 4 fillings. This was my third dental appointment in 8 months (due to insurance changes I was planning on coming here for extra cleanings this year). Within the last couple of months my dental work needs significantly jumped which blindsided me and caused major anxiety. Something felt off, so I sought second and third opinions from other dentists. No other dentist suggested crowns, nor did they find some of the fillings needed via X-ray nor the picking tool. At most it was 2 fillings needed instead of the vast work initially prescribed. To give credit where it's due, the front desk staff was wonderful and promptly shared my X-rays when I requested them for my second opinions. However, as someone with major dental anxiety, the rushed exam and sudden pressure from the dentist to urgently book expensive procedures was overwhelming. It is disappointing to experience this shift in care from a clinic I used to trust, not sure where I'll go from here but I needed to share my most recent experience.

From the moment I walked in, the office staff was professional, friendly, and welcoming. When I went back for X-rays, the young woman assisting me was incredibly warm and engaging--she made small talk, asked questions, and really helped me feel at ease. They even gave me a brief tour of the office, explaining where everything happens and what to expect. It wasn't a huge office, but that personal touch made a difference and helped me feel comfortable right away. When I met with Dr. Truong, he asked what I wanted for my smile. I explained that while my teeth aren't in bad shape, I do have a little crowding on the bottom and a slight overbite. I'm an adult, and while some people might question getting braces at this stage, I just want to feel more confident about my smile. I originally went in thinking I wanted Invisalign, but after our discussion, I decided on clear braces instead. What I really appreciated was that he didn't push me in any direction--he simply explained my options between Invisalign and traditional braces. He made it clear that Invisalign requires a lot of self-discipline (wearing them 22 hours a day), whereas braces allow him to have more control over the results. Knowing myself, I felt that clear braces would be the better choice to stay on track and complete treatment in the shortest time possible. Overall, the entire visit took less than an hour, and I left feeling informed, comfortable, and confident in my decision. I haven't started treatment yet, but based on my experience so far, I would absolutely recommend this office. So far:
