Excellent food, service and atmosphere. These guys are very busy, but run a very streamlined and efficient operation. It is surprising how quickly orders are taken and food reaches the table in around 5 minutes or less. It is quite impressive how well they do, while having great attitudes! Horrible treatment. Walked in and was told the wait for a table was 10 min. Chose to sit at the counter and was told I couldn't sit there because I walked in with a lady. Been stopping here for 7 years, but never again. Young man with glasses can be thanked for the bad service. read more

Very nice diner everybody was really attentive. Breakfast is nothing out of the ordinary, but it was nice and fresh. Their coffee was pretty good. Their biscuit was huge and sweet, which was surprisingly good. The vegan chipotle sausage was actually pretty awesome a little bit of a kick, but really good especially for someone like me with stomach issues that cannot have a specific meats. This is reminiscent of the 1970s dinner with the clientele a mix of the retired and teenager looking for a coffee and burger. The restaurant is clean, with tables cleaned quickly and the decor a mix of watercolors and posters all reminding you that you're in Montana. The place is clean and for the most part was quiet we went on Veterans Day and was not busy at all. Got the creek salad but to many foo foo greens would have liked more salad. Other than that not too bad. May want to remember real silverware and not have disposable at dine in. read more

My first time visiting Montana, and I tried Ruby's. (I then returned again the next day lol) Let me say this first, the people, the people, the people made me fall in love with this place. The food is AMAZING which will make you like a place but mix that with great people and it's a wrap! I will always come to Ruby's when I'm in Montana. There is a parking lot and a few surrounding lots as well as street parking. The vibe inside is like "hometown family" warmth and love. I definitely recommend Ruby's Cafe! read more

If you're on a road trip, this is a great place to stop. If you're going past Missouri they offer really good burgers cooked to perfection. A large amount of fries and warm personalities of the wait staff. The prices are fantastic. Atmosphere is very Montana. It'll transform you back in time to an old time cafe. Very cute and rustic. Ordered the Firehouse Burger with green chile, pepper jack, and bacon. The green chile gives it a taste of mild heat and is very good. Service is friendly, fast, and tends to your needs nicely. The milkshakes come in classic glasses and my kids loved it. read more

Waitress said sometimes try will do it if not busy. Well why not all the time? You are a restaurant are you not? Deep frying link sausage is the easy way out and gross. This place hasn't changed their decor in years, yet that's what I love MOST about it, besides their food. This is one of those places that you see in those romance movies, where the guy walks into a little diner and instantly falls in love with the waitress. Ruby's is exactly that place.....other than the fact that most of their waitresses are age 60 and above. With that being said, the service is always great, the food is always delicious, and the portions are big. They have raised their prices but that has not stopped us from dining there. I really hope they don't do any renovating for years to come, because their retro diner style is part of what makes them Ruby's. Don't be fooled by the less than appealing store-front. wow, the place was packed with standing room only waiting on a rainy Monday at 10:30am. They took our phone number so we could wait in our car out of the rain and in 20 min (expected 30min) called us in. Service was spot on with recos. I had the chicken cordon blue skillet--it was excellent-the ham was "real" with just the right amount of cheese and hollandaise sauce. My son and I also tested out their biscuits and gravy--very good--lots of sausage and not too salty and biscuit very good. He had the farmers skillet which he has had many times before so he obviously loves it. Wife got brown veggie/eggs without the hash browns and liked it very much. read more

The only best cafe in Missoula. Hard to find good restaurants here, but Ruby's is an oasis with consistently good food and terrific friendly efficient service (not a given in most local places). Great soups, good all day breakfast options - well crafted omelets and generous skillet options. You can't beat a Ruby's cheeseburger and fries although the Ruby's beef dip is also scrumptious and very important to me, good coffee. My husband and I go twice a week. As restaurant gems go, it has become more crowded each year with a wait sometimes, but it's worth it. Hang around. You will feel better after you go to Ruby's. We always do. The only thing we will miss when we leave Missoula is Ruby's and the warm and wonderful staff! *If you are used to City places with late night hours, this is not it- get there before they close at 3:00 or 4:00. read more

We had a French toast breakfast and a half order of biscuits and gravy with sausage links. --- The Good... - Eggs- Cooked as ordered. - Bacon- Thinnest slices we have ever encountered, but very tasty. - Biscuits- Hefty, flaky, and a great foundation for the white gravy. - Hash browns- Plentiful and properly crisped. ---The Not-So-Good... - The sausage gravy- very bland with barely any sausage flavor. Hot sauce helped a little. - French toast was run of the mill, thin cut sandwich bread that looked a little anemic (see photo). - Link sausage- Pre-cooked and rewarmed... you know, wrinkled and clearly not fresh.
