This place is closed. The owner has filed for bankruptcy and it may return, but who knows. The last time we were there, our lunch was fair.

Scott needs to pay his employees. He is running each and every one of his businesses into the ground and putting many Missoulians in difficult positions where they can't pay bills or make ends meet because of his poor decisions. The food was always just ok and never spectacular. The staff has always been kind and attentive. It's sad that his poor choices and big ego is causing so much hardship. I hope the endless free meals and drinks he gave to all of his friends and symphony members are worth it at this point. What a sad man. read more

Food is fresh and delicious. I had the Protein Scramble, Vegetarian Version. I enjoyed the abundance of veggies and eggs. Sourdough bread was good aswell. Coffee was fresh and I enjoyed they have heavy whipping and oat milk selections. The staff were amazing, helpful and patient. It is a semi self service. They do bring the food to your table with utensils. Water etc is self serve. The facility is tight and compact. Small tables good for just coffee and a muffin. I would not recommend the back dining area for more than two people. It is cramped, the music is so loud you cannot talk or hear if someone is talking. This is and remains a great place for breakfast. We love the veggie browns and Hangover Potatoes. But best of all is the biscuit basket, which comes with large, cheddar-jalapeño biscuits (or plain, if you prefer), served with honey butter and huckleberry preserves. Worth the wait. Been to this location 2x and haven't been pleased. The first time I understood why they denied me my order but the barista ringing me up was rude and grumpy. The second time the drink was made wrong. I ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk and they cross contaminated their scoop for the hot chocolate mix with their Aztec mocha powder and that's gross and could've been a health problem. I asked for my drink to be remade and the barista said yes but then wondered off and I had to ask the janitor to get her so she could remake it. I wasn't happy and she wasn't pleased either. The staff needs to work on their attitude towards customers because it was not pleasant being served by someone who was not being pleasant and who was barely polite. I get that they were tired and wanted to go home but they can at least do the bare minimum and be polite to customers. I don't plan on going back to this location due to their poor customer service. I will say however the ambiance is nice and they won't kick you out if you stay too long. But that is the only reason I would consider going back there. read more

The food was incredible!!!!! The presentation amazing! However the gal Molisa that worked behind the counter.. yes she is the first person to take orders setting the stage, was incredibly rude and miserable. Sad- really. I love this place! As a vegan, there are some great options with the veggie browns being my fave! Also love the lotus, tea and smoothie options. I rarely feel compelled to write reviews, but it had to be said. The avocado toast here is nearly inedible. It's bland, and I'm not even convinced that they use real avocados. It seemed more like a spread. On top of that, they put an obscene amount of nuts and seeds on top of the toast. If you go to Liquid Planet, opt for anything other than the avocado toast. read more

This place has went downhill. I eat here maybe once/season. The outdoor patio is beyond sad. Aging concrete tables with peeling paint, a bench made of sagging lumber secured with concrete bricks. The indoor seating is much more appealing. Lets talk about the food. The menu is too big for such a tiny kitchen and the food quality suffers. Examples: the chicken dishes that I've ordered lately (tinga tacos, chicken Caesar) have contained old, reheated meat and it's obvious. The wrap was overdressed and the tortilla wasn't even warmed up. Sometimes, the chips taste stale. Or an ingredient is forgotten. The lack of consistency makes me not want to return. And their front of the house ordering system is inefficient (but the workers are friendly and have never been rude to me, which is why I gave an extra star). Be prepared for them to forget about your drink, bakery item or side. That part is so consistent, it's laughable. Overall, this place used to be a lot better. read more

First time there today. Just checking it out. Good looking menu...extensive for a coffee house. Just one thing. WAY overpriced. $6.50 (with tip) for a tall vanilla latte. Seriously? Bacon cheese burger is $22.00! Chicken strips are $22.00!!! Really? Plain old omelet $18.00. This is Missoula, not Aspen! Go somewhere else. I tried them three times and all three were epic fails. Each time they were painfully slow and each time they screwed up the food we ordered. The prices seem high. I really feel bad dissing a local business but I'd recommend most anywhere over this place. Example: Breakfast all day is clearly a load of crap: we got Veggie Browns at 11:30a.m. and they served greasy tater tots topped with what looked like processed cheese slices and fried onions = sadly some "tots" (NOT the menu's "herbed potatoes"!) and toppings they apparently diverted from burgers. If you look close you might see a piece of broccoli. Blech for $10 :( read more

The service here is always amazing, especially for how busy it usually is. The coffee is usually very good with tons of options. The Thai Chicken soup I had was extremely bland, the chicken was dry and I'm not sure what made it "Thai". Doesn't seem like a lot of effort is put into the special items there in general other than the coffee. The base menu is pretty good. I don't know if it's a lack of knowledge or skill, but I'd stick to the standard menu. read more

This place was awful. I had to speak to four employees before I could actually get help. Then I went to go pick up my order, ask them where my drinks were, and the lady replied they hadn't been made yet and then walked away and started cutting oranges. Meanwhile the barista was stuck at the register and the line was forming behind me of about 10 people. The barista was overwhelmed, asked for help and the other employee ignored her. There was no communication between staff. When I asked if they could make my drinks, I was ignored. Finally the barista asked the other stuff member for help again she looked behind her shoulder and claimed that she didn't realize there were so many people waiting. But she knew I was waiting and ignored me. The barista was finally able to start making drinks for a line of people that had already paid. Then the other staff member came over and started lecturing me on how and where to pick up my food the next time I came in. I already had my food and I was waiting for my drinks to be made and I had communicated that several times. Then the manager came over and asked what the problem was, I explained that no one was communicating with each other and the people were starting to get frustrated because they weren't getting help and I had been there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to start making my drinks, when the food was already cold and a line of about 10 people were helped ahead of me, when they were supposed to be behind me. I was first in line. Meanwhile, there are delivery drivers waiting for their orders and can't get help either. The manager took offense, started yelling at me, told me never to come back, and if I did, she would call the police on me. I explained all I was trying to do is get my food that I had already paid for and ordered. She got angry with me, followed me out to my car and started yelling across the restaurant inside and outside telling me never to come back as she followed me to my car. The manager did this! She was a female, dark skin, short hair, and wearing a hat and apron. Extremely unprofessional staff that doesn't communicate and skips people in line and has no sense of priority. Yelling, mouthing off, threatening, and foul language. I will never ever invite my family here or recommend this place to my friends. read more

Took over the Denny's Restaurant building. Did some remodeling and rebranding. Menu is more upscale but still feels like Denny's. I did like the carrot cake pancakes and the Americano was good. They offer some decent pastry. Service was good during our three visits since they opened. read more

Dangit. This place supposedly is great, but my 2nd experience here made it so that I will never, ever come back. TL;DR When I was uncomfortable paying $3 more than the menu said for toast, then the machine made it so that I left a 26% tip while needing to get my own water, my own utensils, my own napkins, my own hot sauce, Sammy behind the counter hollered across the diner at me saying, "I DON'T WANT YOU TO GO, LIKE, BROKE OR SOMETHING." Humiliating a customer with a comment that should never be said by someone who works at a diner. So I go up to the counter, order a hot chocolate and Avocado Toast. I'm excited and craving it. This is a counter service bar - you get your napkins, sauces, your own water, etc. My total was $11.70 , so when she flips the tablet around I want to round my tip up to $12.00 (before you shame me, I was an ACTUAL server at a restaurant but I basically waitressed myself at this place, I don't feel I'm even required to leave that tip). Well, somehow it goes to $3.00. Tipping $3.00 on an $11 tab at a counter diner was NOT in the plans. And I said, "Oh no! I didn't mean to do that." She asked what I did, and I told her that I had left a huge tip I didn't mean to, but alas I was a server so I figured it would make their day and I would never, ever take a tip back. Well, my small breakfast total was $14.70 for a hot chocolate and avocado toast. I'm not too happy at all, so I ask for my receipt. I was charged $7.95 for the toast, and I asked her because the menu said $4.95. Well, she said that there was a half order and a full order. So I got charged for the full order without even being asked which one I wanted. Well I told her that I wanted the $4.95 one not the $7.95 one. It was just me eating and I only wanted a quick breakfast. The receipt says the cashier was Sammy. Well she says that she could fix it, but adds in "I DON'T WANT YOU TO GO, LIKE, BROKE OR SOMETHING." Never, ever should you ever comment on a customer's finances. Not only that, you don't holler it across the restaurant.... I was so embarrassed because I could feel all eyes on me. Never will I go to a place that could humiliate a person like that. Alas, I am yelp elite, eat out a ton, and I know what a fair price is and isn't. $14.70 for hot cocoa and avocado toast is just unreasonable, and when you're uncomfortable, you're treated like a peasant. My wife and I have been coming here for awhile for the amazing Avocado Toast and delightful coffee. Today however I am pleased to announce the arrival of the Impossible Burger to Missoula. Beyond that the General Manager (Jon) went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with the burger, and took the time to listen to my suggestions of more vegan options to pair with the burger...(Just Brands Mayonnaise, Dressings, and recently introduced JustEgg). I have been coming to Liquid Planet Since I was a freshman in college, are used to be amazing under old management, now I have ordered two separate times and both times have been completely wrong, this most recent time I ordered a coffee, to be more specific a lavender latte and there was no coffee no flavoring just steamed milk. On a separate occasion I ordered a burrito without broccoli, and the entire burrito was just broccoli and it was on eatable and a waste of money. I will never be going to this place again read more

It's been about a year since I've eaten breakfast here and I swear it's somehow better than before. I got the breakfast tacos and an iced dirty chai and both were amazing. The tacos were clearly made with intention and care, same with the dirty chai. It was one of those meals where you have to almost force yourself to slow down eating because you don't want it to end but it's also so delicious that it's easy to wolf down. If this isn't the best coffee in town it's close enough for me. That statement is indicative of a satisfied customer. I only know the downtown location, which I can recommend for working, hanging out, meetings, etc. Once these (politically motivated) restrictions have been lifted, Liquid Planet will be a fine gathering place. read more

Always lovely and the world's best staff! The food is always perfect and god knows they have the best fries. I recommend the dude abides as well as their ptarmigan salad, so good! They also have incredible house made daily soup specials that are to die for. If you live near campus or on campus this is a great place for breakfast or lunch as well as studying. Let me start by saying that above all its the service that makes this place 5 stars. I stayed in Missoula for a weeklong workshop & this place was a very convenient stop off in the morning for a coffee & muffin. But what I noticed right away was how friendly everyone was, & not just friendly, but authentically friendly. They earned my many repeated visits on that alone. But also, the food is fantastic! The salads are huge, abundant is a more apt word, really. The Thai tacos are absolutely my favorite lunch in a long time. A perfect size. I still don't understand how they made those tortillas so perfectly fresh & not too crumbly. Amazing. I would also recommend any of their freshly baked pastries. I have to admit that I was put off when I first walked in, as I couldn't quite figure out from the decor or the set up what this place was doing - a cafe? A diner? A fast lunch? A slow lunch? My wife and I have have come over to Missoula from Butte for doctor appointments and we have met our niece (works at the university) at this establishment two or three times. We are very impressed with the wonderful food and the great service. Most recently, we had the breakfast tacos and the flavors of this entrée were superb. We also had Chai Tea and I told the young lady at the counter that it was the best tasting mixture of this tea I had ever tasted. After telling me that they make their own tea mixture, I purchased two cans and we are enjoying the tea at our home. read more
