    6 piece Bluegrass band
    Rich C.

Stumbled on this gem after checking into the Camp Loge motel just 4 blocks away. Single wooden door on a side street, we heard live music and looked in, the vibe was calling us in! Great service from our charming waitperson, and we felt at home immediately despite being obvious non-locals as it appeared virtually every one else was - local. We ordered drinks and dinner Martinis and Smash Burgers - best we've had on the road in Montana. Monday night we were lucky! There was a six piece Bluegrass Band playing full on acoustic; no amps and no microphones. It was delightful and entertaining. What a find, and we will return the next time we are in Missoula - Christmas, maybe? But next Spring for certain!

Excellent food, friendly and prompt service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Weekly events depending on the day and live music usually on the weekend. Definitely a place to check out!

Great local place. The bartender, Morgan, really knows what he's doing. He made a great Old Fashioned and the Hot Buttered Rum was delicious! The fish taco was good, red beans and rice also( although it could have had more rice. The Brussels Sprouts had a nice, complex flavor, but had a little too much balsamic vinegar, and I'm a fan of balsamic vinegar. Atmosphere is relaxed. We will definitely be back.

Our server Tom was very nice. When we arrive, which was mid morning I will say the place was kind of empty but sure enough by time we left almost all the tables were full. The atmosphere while is a little bit darker inside the restaurant it was like a little bit of a maybe music on the background. I had the chicken waffles and the chicken was perfectly done crispy very good taste and I had the zero with the aïoli mix which is great perfect for a little bit of a kick if you like some spiciness to your food. The biscuits and gravy were great, a very large portion.

Montana is a special place. I've been all over and in sought after places. Mostly out of Missoula and away from what most locals keep deep in their hearts. While visiting town my brother and i strolled into this place!! The Old Post, has it all & great drinks, food and service!! Back for more soon!

Chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and a freshly made biscuit with butter and raspberry jam

Best chicken fried steak and eggs I ever had with the best buttery crispy fresh baked biscuit of my life! Service was friendly, sincere and helpful. The ambience is very bar cabin cafe which I enjoyed. Couldn't get in a second visit because the teenage hostess was a bit clueless about customer service and basically sent me away during a rush despite lots of seats visible at the bar. Sigh...no place is perfect I guess

Great service! Our waiter was nice and conversational. We ordered the Swiss bacon chicken sandwich and bacon caramel sweet potato fries. The fries were a hit! Our waiter suggested we add vanilla ice cream, which upped the game even more. Great music and setting. We sat outside with plenty of shade and fresh air.

Patio brunch! The food was good, not outstanding. The service was great and absolutely loved the vibe. They have something on the menu for everyone! Would recommend for a group!

Recommend by my niece, we went there for happy hour/early dinner. We sat outside in their spacious patio. The service was, interesting to say the least. Our server was slammed!!! She had a table of 12 and another table of 10, right next to us. It was hard to get her attention to order anything. The hostess came outside to help her with her tables, but I could tell that she wasn't happy about it. Anyway, we got our order in at the happy hour prices, which was nice!!! We split the hush puppies, which were ok. We also split the humus plate, which everyone thought was way under salted. My wife had the gumbo, I had the fish tacos, and Allison had a salad. The food was delicious. They also had a nice jazz trio playing inside. So yes, they do have live music on Thursday.

    Biscuits and Gravy!

The food was so delicious! Tasted like my Mema's home cooked breakfast!! The service was superb- only one server and he crushed it! The old school tavern vibe was epic! Again I felt I was sitting in Mema's basement bar (minus the smoke smell) and very clean!! Will definitely travel back for the evening vibe and live music!!

Cool place to hang out on the deck and eat some food and enjoy a nice drink. Staff was very friendly and we had no issues getting drinks and food. The salted caramel fries with bacon were the best. The fish tacos were incredible but the Chicken and sausage gumbo missed the mark. It had almost no flavor and was thick and gooey not good. The biscuit that comes with it however was incredible. In not knocking this place but I did not care for the gumbo. Will I recommend this place, Yes. It is still a great place for food and drinks. If we all like everything we eat there would only be one item on all menus .

I really enjoyed The Old Post! The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly and accommodating! We sat in the back patio area which was decorated super cute - patio lights everywhere and well laid out benches and tables There were a couple of loud/obnoxious patrons back there which cramped our vibes for a bit but they left relatively soon after we sat down - just wished the staff did something about it. Definitely will bookmark this for my next visit to Missoula!

I can't rate it because it is not, in fact, handicap accessible. Only high tops - no tables. We left hungry and not happy.

They carry everything from accessible staples like Buffalo Trace and WhistlePig 10, to rare finds like Weller Full Proof and Octomore 13.3. They even have three single malts from the Game of Thrones collection. Solid pours that are affordable and enjoyable. The owner clearly curates with care. He knows what he is doing. The beer list is just as impressive. You can grab a PBR if that is your pace, or you can work through a rotating selection of craft beers. They have Delirium Tremens on draft, which you almost never see. A wide range of local Montana brews too. There is something for everyone, and nothing feels like an afterthought. The staff actually remembers you. The owner has built something that feels more like a community than a business. Even on a bad day, you are treated with dignity here. That is rare. If you are looking for a place with soul, a curated selection, and a staff that cares, this is it.
